actually, there was a typo in my post. i meant to say "what are they getting at" instead of "what are you getting at". Square has announced so many times before that they aren't gong to make it. I wouldn't be surprised if GI put that screenshot into their magazine merely to spark some curiousity. | |||

that's actually why i later downgraded it to merely the illusion of an eye, created by a mist that escapes from a small crack in the blade.
EDIT: because i don't want to spam this thread up, this Edit is in reply to .SK's post. in truth, i forgot to update my profile, sorry about that. the overall design of my sword has slightly changed. (Last edited by Sparda on 07-18-06 01:03 AM) |

Vincens wandered down the streets, seeming out of place in the modern setting. Clothed in a pair of thick leather pants, with leg bracers and belt, and a shirt of chain mail, with arm bracers, he seemed to have come right out of some medieval battle. He seemed to be in shock as his bright brown eyes gazed at all the flashing spectacles around him. A soft wind, managing to escape the wall of buildings on every street blew at his disheveled, long black hair, which nearly covered his eyes. His black metallic boots made soft clicking noises against the hard concrete as cars sped by.
"That witch...where did she send me now?" |

Vincens was lucky he had keen hearing. Just barely managed to hear the chuckle from the other side of the street, he knew that someone hostile was present with him. He immediately reached for his sword...only to find that it wasn't there with him.
"Oh for the love of..." Feeling a strange pulse of magic beneath and to his left, he immediately rolled forth, his chain mail making loud noises as he slammed against the concrete. Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough; as he ducked to roll forth, the spike managed to pierce his left shoulder at an angle, completely penetrating the mail and cutting into his flesh. As he rolled forth, he left a small trail of blood. "...unbelievable..." He got up and caught sight of his opponent. Fortunately for him, the wound wasn't great. He'll be able to press on. "What luck to get injured before even seeing the opponent..." He said this to himself before directing his eyes at the woman on the other side of the street. "You could at least tell me your name before we get this going..." (Last edited by Sparda on 07-18-06 01:25 AM) |

"Witch."
With his right hand held back as if ready to strike a punch, time seemed to slow down as he launched his right fist forward in an impressive display of posture and stance. Only the quick of sight would have been able to catch what happened next. As his right hand shot forward, it seemed to suddenly become encased inside a gorgeous gauntlet, that apparently had emerged from inside his arm, covering his skin completely so that his entire arm was now part of the gauntlet. Gold in color, with shoulder and elbow spikes as well as small spikes protruding from where the knuckles were. A small yellow stone rested in his enclosed palm, giving off a radiant glow that escaped from in between his fingers. As he launched his gauntlet fist forward, everything that had been shot at him, the flames, the cars, the debris, and bolts suddenly slowed to a halt and were launched back at an even greater velocity, as if the projectiles had rammed into a trampoline and were being sent right back. The ferocity of this counter was so great, the glass on the building behind his opponent shattered, in a fearsome spectacle of power. |

Feeling the heat that was surging throughout the ground below him, Vincens immediately shot his gauntleted hand down, his fingers fully extended to reveal the jeweled palm, which was facing the ground. Just as the massive flame column rushed forth and upwards into the sky, the jewel flashed once again, giving off its radiant glow. Apparently, the flash from the jewel had created some sort of barrier between Vincens and the column of fire for instead of being engulfed within the column, he was launched upwards with the flames. He seemed unharmed, though the mere heat of the flames were having their way with his chain mail, as the metal bonds began to weaken. He 'jumped off' the flame column, and, being forced to comply with gravity yet again, dived towards the earth.
The flame column had launched him a considerable distance from the ground. Now, as he fell to the earth with grace, he prepared an air to ground attack as the jewel in his gauntlet palm began to flash violently. Extending his right hand forward, while still airborne, he let loose a violent shockwave at his opponent. The force of unleashing this shockwave was so great, it propelled Vincens back several feet, as he heard the shockwave slicing through a building as its made its way to Serenity. technically, it wouldn't be lying since all of it is just speculation. and i never said controversy, i said 'curiousity'. Just felt like pointing that out.
It just seems very unlikely that SquareEnix would set out to accomplish such a project when they already have so much stuff they've promised to the fans. You got 4 Final Fantasies coming out eventually, a Final Fantasy VII Spin off, a lot of next gen games, and probably more than just that. Is it even possible for them to have enough manpower to even begin to work on a remake of VII? a lot of fans have been dreaming of a remake. Often, they go and try make every little thing a sign that the remake is going to happen. As far as i'm concerned, the tech demo was nothing more than simply a tech demo. Until SquareEnix, not Game Informer or OPM, officially announces that there will be a remake, then there will be no remake. and also, game magazines have been wrong before. It's not like they fail the moment they make one mistake. |

my memory of FFX is limited. however, what i do remember is this, you're having trouble beating her, you should go back to the dome and level up a bit more. also, do your very best to refrain from using any overdrive whatsoever on her first form. Also, if you have not been doing so already for all the tough bosses, you should always make sure that every single Aeon in your possession is in overdrive mode the moment you enter battle. Same goes for your characters if you want to play it safe.
Finally, i think Yunalesca has that insane Mega-Death or Death-All attack in her third form. It'd be better to keep the Zombie she inflicts on you to make sure that that attack won't kill all your characters at once. |

Neo pretty much needs to be in the Matrix to pull off all his Superman moves. In the real world, Neo could only execute limited psychic attacks where as Superman still has all his amazing powers. Therefore, Superman would easily win.
also...if Superman were to just destroy the ship that Neo's in or unplug him in real life...well...that'd be game over for Neo. : / (Last edited by Sparda on 07-19-06 01:12 PM) |

Originally posted by Star FX no that would be impossible. if we are assuming that all of this is happening in the Matrix, Superman wouldn't even have a plug. Since Superman is an alien, aliens are considered glitches in the Matrix. Only humans have their own plugs. |

I like how you included MIchael Angelo Batio's special V Neck Guitar...but you neglected to describe how it works. Do the guitars work like they used to with each string bearing some special magical property? I think something to describe how your weapons work is important...unless you use your guitar to smash people's heads.
And just a minor note about the drawing, the V Neck Guitar should have string dampeners on each neck like Michael Angelo Batio's. They resemble small capos. |

"I need to take some cover..."
Vincens took one quick look at his opponent, who was getting back onto her feet, as he ripped off his useless chain mail, revealing a light, black, sleeveless shirt underneath. It also revealed some rather strange, silver lines covering his left arm. Having landed at the corner of the street, he quickly found a large building and hid himself in the alley behind it. His heartbeat grew faster and faster as blood began to seep out of the silver lines on his left arm. |

Originally posted by Draken i don't think it's Israel that needs to be worried about here...it's definitely Lebanon. Where as hundreds of Lebanese civilians have been killed, only dozens of Israelis have been killed. And it seems that the US refuses to do anything until Israel has finished off most of Lebanon, despite going on and on about promoting a ceasefire. |

Originally posted by Elara i'm almost positive that Israel does not have the best military in the world. I'm even more positive that they couldn't kick our ass. They could probably do some damage...but probably not enough to scar the entire country permanently. (Last edited by Sparda on 07-21-06 09:29 PM) |

1) A battle usually goes into the Hall of Fame when it is completed and finished by both fighters. This means that the battle was fought all the way through and one fighter was defeated. Also, Finals of tournaments may also be put into the Hall of Fame.
2) I doubt they will be reoponed. Cyro Xero has shown no signs of ever returning. Why should he? He's married now. |

1) Well, if it was somewhat lengthy, then yes. Battles that are less than 15 posts usually will not find their way in there unless something of great significance occurred.
2) Lack of ideas. Laziness. (Last edited by Sparda on 07-22-06 05:07 PM) |
