| I'm currently in a hotel room in Oceanside, California. It's 4 in the morning. I'm torn from sleep at 3:30 by the rampant sounds of bros shouting and stomping around above my head.
Called the front desk and they supposedly called up, but now I can't sleep. The damage is already done and I'm laying wide awake. FUCK YOU, YOU ASSHOLES. I dare not watch a video or something which would disturb Stitch and Brandon's sleep, so I'm just sort of stuck here, in the dark, with the laptop. I could read something, but I was actually embroiled in a book, but there isn't enough light to read it by. Fuck. |

| Finished The Boys last week. Still upset with how the final volume went. It's the Red Wedding for Garth Ennis fans, but carried out far worse.
Been trying to work through The Unwritten and Sweet Tooth now. I'd started them when they were new, but now I'm playing catch-up with the latest graphic novel releases. Chew's next. |

| So I stalked George R. R. Martin to the elevators of the San Diego Hyatt on Sunday. Didn't talk to him (didn't really want to bother him); just walked a few paces behind him and then strolled immediately behind him and giggled when he got on the elevator.
I don't get starstruck very often these days. I should have at least thanked him for some of the characters he's written or something, but again I didn't want to bother him. Cute, little ball of a man with his turtle trinket on his hat. |

| Where the hell did my post go? I wrote out this long rant, but it's gone. Ughh...
So the woman was sentenced to to serve at least 5 years in prison, and up to 20. The husband has continued to plead on her behalf saying he forgives her for all of it. I commented that he is either the biggest chump or the last true believer in absolute, unconditional love, which could still be chalked up to being delusional. Either way, his forgiveness in spite of everything is the greatest virtue of all, and he deserves far better than the hand he was dealt. |

| My cable box is out, and I'm waiting for Verizon to UPS the new one. In the mean time digging through a box of VHS tapes I procured during a library sale.
Was in the mood for Road Warrior (which I can't find), but now I'm stuck watching Warrior of the Lost World. Fucking awful. I mean, it's supposed to be this post-apocalyptic world, yet there's grass and greenery everywhere. Their "junkyard" was a bunch of cars scattered across a perfectly manicured lawn. |

| I suppose if you're able to pick it for free, it'd be one thing. But yeah, I'm not entirely sure it's worth arguing so intently about it.
Just makes me think of the line from the first Michael Keaton Batman movie where the Joker shoots Bruce and goes, "Never rub another man's rhubarb." Sad to see the video pulled with people claiming it was only posted for bullying purposes. |

| OK, back from the movies.
So it WAS a rehash of Wrath of Khan. All the people who swore it wasn't were either lying or really didn't watch the second movie. I ended up laughing through most of the film since it was mostly referencing TOS memes, even though they were trying to have a serious moment. Also, Carol Marcus suddenly being British was distracting for some reason, especially when Admiral Marcus didn't carry an accent (I'm sure this could be argued as her mother being such and raising her independently of daddy, but ... eh). |

Still playing "Fallout 3." Just running around the map, discovering new places, and doing all the side quests.

I'm keeping my karma at very good at the moment, but I'll probably replay and be bad the next time around. I might take up enslaving people and contract killing. Will probably blow up Megaton too.

Another thing I still didn't quite get was why the Enterprise had to be hidden underwater in the first place. It's definitely a project anyone could do. Even if you don't have the cash to go anywhere or eat anything new, there's always looking up new things to learn online. So many of my "new things" are the fact that I finished a graphic novel.

Posting pictures on Facebook has managed to hold me to it longer than previous years when I just wrote them in a journal (but then I'd lose my Book of Days or forget to write in it for a while). ... I don't remember what else I was here to post. ... I feel old. | ||||||||||
