| Read Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper" for my American studies theory class. I'd read it back in middle school, but after studying Foucault recently and learning about neurasthenia last semester during Women in America class, it says a lot more to me about feminism and "la clinique."

| I finally finished "The Fall" this morning. It was so beautiful. I nearly started to cry over the story-within-the-story. I really wanted to see it in theaters, but for some reason wasn't able to. Many of the critics said that while the movie is so beautifully shot the story is crap.
I disagree. I think those critics missed the subtleties. While I wasn't entirely happy with the ending, the movie is gorgeous. I liked the story. |

I love the fact that Darwin's monkey is named Wallace and he refers to him as though he was that other naturalist who came up with natural selection at the same time he did. It's just such a phenomenal movie. |

| While 4chan is full of some really obnoxious people and hackers, they've managed to track down animal abusers and have them reported to the proper authorities. Their most recent finds were the woman who dropped a cat in a trash can and the girl who was throwing puppies in the river.
As for the video, I watched it astonished. I mean his face got REALLY purple and then went white. |

| If there's a song I have an itch to listen to, I head to YouTube. Otherwise, I listen to my iPod Shuffle when I'm out and about. I don't usually sit at my desk with iTunes open or anything.
I've tried Pandora a few times, but other than that it introduces me to a few new people I like, I haven't really gotten into it as a regular place to go for music. I mean, like I said I just get an itch to listen to a certain song and I go to YouTube for it. Pandora doesn't really do that. They play songs LIKE the one you want. Actually, I used to regularly use Radio Blog Club, but it sort of went under with the advent of YouTube and Pandora.  |

| Accounting only for today:
- Went hiking in a new place. - Walked through a film set while hiking. They took over the freaking scenic point. Grrr - Got stung by three different wasps. (Once in the boob, once in the arm, and once or possibly twice or three times on top of my head) - Had a wasp stuck in my hair - Ate sandwiches at this place in Long Beach we hadn't tried. Service sucked and they suddenly charged more for the drinks and food without explanation. Tomorrow should be better. And if it's not I'm going to punch it really hard and make it straighten up and fly right. |

| Just finished watching "Ghost World" for the billionth time. Even though I don't quite consider it a favorite movie, there's so much about it that amuses and entrances me, I guess.
I think the more I watch it, the more I dislike Enid and feel sorry for all the other characters. It might have something with getting older. When I first saw it, I was just out of high school and it cut through me because I was feeling the EXACT same things Enid was talking about and feeling. Now that it's been like 6 or 7 years since seeing it, Enid's problems seem so juvenile. Well, all that and the fact that she fucks over Steve Buscemi's character one too many times and she's so selfish. Yeah, definitely growing up. |

I finally saw it in 3D at the cheap theater (since I can't really afford first-run theaters these days, and believe me, if I could spare it I would have seen it sooner). I'm a huge Jessie/Buzz shipper and I was definitely pleased. I giggled a lot near the end. Spoiler:
That moment in the trash incinerator where they all just accept their fate and hold each other was so amazing. I mean I knew they would somehow get saved, but facing certain doom and all being sure they would die was such a deep scene. But poor Woody, losing Bo. I knew it was bound to happen, seeing as she was off a nursery lamp in a boy's room and she was either broken or sold/donated, but still you could see it cut Woody pretty deep. I was so glad to see him happy for Buzz and Jessie, throwing them a rose and everything. |

| I thought this was so funny, since 1) this was made well AFTER the vote and 2) this is probably only preaching to the choir as only those who are anti-Prop 8 (a California specific measure) will see it.
I wonder why so many of these videos, photo projects, and so on are only coming out in the last year. I support gay rights completely, but where were these things when Prop 8 was going to be voted on? |
