Brandon says she's gone multiple times. We don't know much otherwise, since we haven't talked to Linda (B-ran's mom) lately.

Thankfully, Brandon's dad and brother flew into Phoenix from Bakersfield the moment they heard. We hadn't been told yet, and we were wondering what they were doing there in the middle of summer where it's like 120 degrees, especially since Joey hates Sara (it's a sibling rivalry that just never died). I'm not sure how much of the family knows about this. Things of this nature tend to be kept secret from their grandmother, and I can just imagine their aunt, Michelle, getting REALLY upset about this. Michelle didn't say anything or seem upset when we hung out with her last week. But then again she's trying to conceive and they just moved into their new house, so it's possible Linda's waiting for a more appropriate time to tell her. The thing about rape is that it's not so much physical damage, so much as it is psychological. Sara's still very impressionable and getting raped at a young age tends to warp one's idea of relationships. I'm not much of a scholar of psychology, it's just what I've noticed over the years of meeting rape/molestation survivors (victims has such a negative connotation).
