(Japanese) Makura, I'm glad you're doing so well in that class -- it's such a fun language to learn that I wish it was available when I was going to school. I suppose it's not too late to take something in a college course, but I believe you miss a lot when you take a course like that. Practicing the language will definitely get you to fluency pretty quick. I have been studying for about 2 years now and I'm amazed on what I have learned so far.
Oh, and Xeo -- yes, we all know why you want to study Japanese. *stares at the Japanese in the layout and falls on floor laughing* (Last edited by VGFreak877 on 10-02-05 04:11 AM) |

I'm probably one of the oldest members on this or any board using this board system. I have about 22 months before I turn 30. I do know there are at least a couple of people on here that are older than me though. Heh, I probably won't stop visiting or posting on these boards when I do hit 30 though.

Okay, this is what I notice when people come in a buy cigarettes:
(1) If that is all that they are buying, sometimes they'll pay completely in loose change, scrounging around for that dime or quarter that they might need to complete the sale. So instead of buying the essential things (like food), they buy cigarettes. (2) People who have had one lung, their voicebox removed, or even breathing off of an oxygen tank, they still buy cigarettes. I would think having those things happen to them would send a clear message that maybe smoking is not good for them. (3) No matter how much a pack or carton of cigarettes may be, people don't care -- they'll buy them anyway. I've seen people pay $40 and up for a carton of cigarettes. There's quite a bit of food I can buy for $40 and feel quite a bit better after it. And no, I don't smoke. (Last edited by VGFreak877 on 10-20-05 11:58 PM) |

Congratulations on getting to 1000 posts, Xeios. I think at my current rate of posting, I'll probably get there by the time my neice graduates from high school (she's 6 months old now).

Okay, here's a new discussion that I don't think has been done here yet. When you guys are studying for a test or doing homework, what you guys do? Listen to music, eat, watch TV, or do you concentrate completely on the task at hand? I doubt that many people do that last thing because I also doubt many people will have it completely silent when they're studying.

I decided to pull this game out after not playing it for awhile. I actually beat the story mode of the game, but not the 99-level extra dungeon that came with it. I think I got to about 20 or so before dying. This game has amazing replay value -- EXP and Gold are multiplied by 4 when playing in RETRY mode (after you beat the game for the first time). The storyline is pretty interesting as well: Maxim is the main character and part way through the story, he gets married and has a kid. There's also some surprises along the way as well. If you haven't played this game yet, I recommend it.

Oh yes, this is an excellent game. It took me a couple of tries to beat the 10K HP final boss at the end, but it was worth it. I like the battle system, it's very original (at least of the games that I've played). Yeah, this is a long game, there's plenty of cutscenes and towns to see and plenty to do, you will not be bored. I think I bought this game on sale, so I was lucky. Also, for people that have beaten the game, you get to see all the cutscenes from the game.

Here's what I eat a lot of:
Vegetables: I eat a lot of salads whenever I can consisting mostly of lettuce, tomato (sometimes cherry tomatoes), carrots, cucumbers, sometimes olives, and rarely onions. As far as non-salad veggies, I eat potatoes, zucchini/squash, broccoli. (I love broccoli -- I could eat that all day. And it doesn't matter how it's prepared: well-done, steamed, semi-crunchy, just plain raw.) And probably a few more that I haven't mentioned. Fruits: Tomatoes, strawberries, bananas (mostly), apples (the crunchy red ones or the sour green ones) (although I haven't eaten many of them recently), oranges, sometimes nectarines (the crunchy ones, not the fuzzy, swishy ones), melon, green/purple grapes, and pineapple. |

Wow, Cyro, congrats on getting to 1,000 posts on here (I've only seen you do that on a couple of other boards), so world domination is only 1,500+ posts away! Anyway, with the number of members on here, I'm surprised I still manage to stay in the Top 100, lol. (# 75) Elara, I don't think you have to worry about anybody taken # 2 away from you anytime soon, you're well over 1K posts ahead.

I don't know why but the Tarantula Boss toward the beginning of the game handed my ass to me in a bag so many times. The fact that he would cast Paralysis on my two essential party members would do me at the most (in)convenient times. The Poison attack was annoying too but I could deal with that.

Hmm, let's see if I can sum up my events on the board:
(1) I have been on this board for 456 days (I don't remember how long I was on MoD -- I think it was about 6 months) (2) Combined with this board and MoD, I have about 150 posts. (3) I was admin on the board for about 2 weeks (exact time, I'm not sure), but voluntarily stepped down. I'm not an active member by any means, but I like to post to topics that I feel I can contribute to. |

No, it was developed by Taito and published by Natsume. But I know what you mean though -- Enix (actually Tri-Ace) is famous for making a lot of those multi-level bonus dungeons.

I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread for this game yet. It's going to be released December 22nd, 2005 in Japan and hopefully I'll be able to pick up a copy. If you want, you can see some screenshots and watch a trailer here if you like. The site is in 100% Japanese, but if you click on the link that has these kanji: , you will be able to see the trailer. It's the link that has "PV" in it.

Well, just a few I have going on:
(1) Get better at Japanese -- speaking and comprehension mostly. I have reading and writing going pretty good. Also, learn at least 2 new words every day. (2) Catch up on my gaming. I've let too many good new games slip out of my hands. (3) Work on my site. (4) Switch jobs. I think it's about time I start doing something else. |

Yeah, I would say that's more than enough reason to switch back to 1.92 -- things worked better on that board anyway. I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my board since a few things I can't get working on 1.A2 work fine in 1.92.

It might have happened too when Xeo and Slaya were switching the board around, it might have messed something up with the cookies. But like Xeo said, when all else fails, delete the cookies, and you should be fine.

Oh wow, I didn't see a thread on this. Anyway, this game is pretty addictive, I keep going back after a few months of not playing it and playing it again. VS mode I can do no problem with beating the characters in about 30 to 40 seconds or so. Although once in a while, I croak when I get to the 10th or 11th stage for some reason. Endless, I can do pretty decent on now finished in a little under 50 minutes to get to 99,999. Here's a screenshot of that (done about a month ago):

This game came out for the SNES back in 1995, 1996. There was also another version of this game called Pokemon League for the N64. I didn't care too much about that version although it did have some interesting features.

I got my name because at the time I picked it out, I was playing with a lot of games. I still do, but not as much. The numbers in my name are my birthdate. Nothing really complex -- nice and simple. |
