Alright, then, Desroth. Maybe you're right. But even if that's true, that sounds like a while before I joined MoD (probably as Cheveyo Chowilawu), which would put that as quite a long time ago. So, unless he's also currently a mod somewhere else (which is possible), I wouldn't see any reason for him to be acting like one here - and even if that IS the case, it wasn't the 'acting like a mod' part that I was complaining about.


Aaaanyway, yeah, screenshots are generally your best bet, if you have an emulator and you can get it working right. If that's not an option, you're gonna have to google it. For the character sprites, this will work well enough. That has 'em all listed, I think.

Technically, the emulator isn't illegal. Unfortunately, the BIOS, needed for PSX emulators, is. But, I'm sure there's ways to do what you want to without an emulator. For the status screen, I would guess getting a sort of template wouldn't be hard that you could just add stuff onto, if someone had the time and ability to make one. For sprites and equipment, those are all over the place.

Any layout that changes the text color has readable spoilers in FF without highlighting. A layout that leaves text color alone - or no layout at all - will be fine, but one that defines a text color... well...

If you don't see what I mean, you're not using Firefox.


The problem, for those without Firefox, is that the spoiler tag doesn't turn the font black when the layout defines a text color. It instead uses the layout's color.

I don't know what to do about it, but I figured I'd bring it to your attention.

Other boards - Acmlm's springing immediately to mind - have had such a forum without any major issues. It's one that has to have a mod keeping a close eye on it, yes, but Debate also falls under that category. And that doesn't mean it's not worth keeping.

I could say that Crazy Nonsense is a waste because it's nonsense. Or that Online Gaming and Game Design/Creation are useless because of a lack of activity. But I haven't said that.

Or, for another way to look at it, we've had Sunset Waterfall for as long as I can remember. It wouldn't be the same without it, really. And I'm sure a lot of those same topics would just pop up in General (I've seen other boards without such a forum; General Chat (or it's equivalent) is where those go all the time.)). I see no real benefit in getting rid of it.


As far as other people registering just to argue about something that was said there... meh. They wouldn't have registered for any other reason, apparently, and they just leave after the thread gets closed because of excessive drama. This usually doesn't happen, though. More of a problem is when someone takes an issue with anotehr board member to Sunset, but I haven't seen that happen in a long time.

My comment about Debate being similar to Sunset was that both are forums that should be closely watched by moderators because both are the type of forums that are most likely to escalate into flaming.

You missed 'there'. I see that one used wrong quite often...

Actually, that's the main annoyance. I've developed a semi-immunity to AOLspeak, since most times I see it are when it's excusable (in an online game where most don't have time for the full sentence), and it's also a good Jackass Detector in most places... it's grammar mistakes that annoy me more.
