Well, she's getting up there in her years, and she's been having a few accidents this past year.
Shortly after checking in on her a couple weeks ago, she called up saying to come back because she kept hearing voices singing really loud or shouting and she wasn't sure if it was someone outside her window or what. Even when we brought her home, she still complained about people talking really loudly at her. Conversations with her keep getting really weird too. Like whenever someone enters a room while she's telling a story suddenly they're in the story too. Or she'll start talking about things that REALLY don't make sense. Apparently when she's out with my aunt she starts grabbing people saying that my aunt (her daughter) is kidnapping her. She ended up in the hospital when she slumped over in her chair and wasn't responding. The doctors still haven't given us a diagnosis (stroke, heart attack, etc). It's been decided that she's going to live with us on alternating weeks with my aunt. |

Well, either way, there are machines out there that will take your dollar no matter what you've done to it.
The only machines that take $20s, that I know of anywhere, are for public transporsation passes, though. Or maybe those stamp machines in the post office. Hmm.. |

And this is why we have PSAs against cyber-bullying and warning kids not to post something stupid online.
But then, making any sort of threat over the Internet is just moronic. Our paper got one in a comment to a follow-up story about Jessica Shekell (student who drove drunk going down the wrongside of the 91 in the FastTrak lane, killing two people in the accident that ensued). The comment was written to sound like a gang member saying that he and his crew now know what she looks like and they're going to cruise around her around and kill her. Something like that. The comment has since been deleted with their IP address turned over to the police. Jesus tapping-dancing Christ. |

Fuck fuck fuck fuck FUCK giving cats baths. They're freaking self-cleaning, damn it and it's unnatural to apply soap to cat hair, but with Tiki's appointment to get spayed tomorrow and the vets insisting that we have to bathe her the day before taking her in, we're stuck fighting it.
Yeah, there's no escaping getting deep clawings and punctures with that pussy. Miko used to just sit in the tub and take it, because she knew it would be over soon. Tiki takes it like we're really drowning her, even just sitting in an inch of water while soaping her up and lightly pouring water over her. We freaking even taped socks on her front legs. Damn things came off halfway through. Commence battling a fur bag with 4 sets of 5 meathooks. Who knew she could still take you out with her back paws too? When she digs those damn things in, you have to curve them out to avoid tearing off more skin. FUCK! (Last edited by Rogue on 02-16-10 12:54 PM) |

That's a REALLY tough question, and it really all depends since many bad movies are pretty entertaining because they're bad (Army of Darkness, Shark Attack 3, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, etc).
I think worst, that was not good no matter how much I tried to bear with it, was Date Movie. Couldn't even watch it. If you could have a functioning animal part attached to your body, what would it be? (Last edited by Rogue on 05-01-10 03:44 AM) |

Paramount just e-mailed to say that they've posted the new trailer for The Last Airbender here.
It's actually the first time they've outrightly shown the characters' faces since they're obscured in the teaser and previous trailer. Probably because so many are throwing a fit that the main characters are played by white kids. Kinda weird for Sokka and Katara since they're Inuit, and live an Arctic-like area of the world. Thoughts? |

Apparently the hot thing to drop on YouTube right now is summary videos entitled, "Avatar in 5 seconds." As expected half of them say they were inspired by Guy With Glasses.
Commenting on the subtext of the storyline: Trying desperately to have the blending element of Guy With Glasses: Commenting on James Cameron's blockbuster success: Avatar in 8 seconds: Taking us back to '99: And, lastly, who knew the blue hair raping peeps were that easy to kill? And of course the how it should have ended vids: This one came first: The one actually posted by How It Should Have Ended (note the similar end joke): And there are even worse ones up. Yeah... |

Seriously, these bad apples (school shooters, people sneaking things onto planes, terrorists, bombers, etc), are ruining it for the rest of us. Now we've got metal detectors in schools, video cameras everywhere, people digging through our personals in our luggage, and we're freaking losing our right to say what we want.
Now granted writing to people to mockingly say there's going to be a shooting tomorrow, that's nothing of true substance. That was just stupid. We went through this in high school. A friend of mine called in a bomb threat to the school (from a payphone on campus, I might add). There wasn't any real reason behind it other than he just wanted everyone to be evacuated and classes to be delayed. He was arrested, put in jail for a month, and sued the school later and won for a wrongful imprisonment. He ended up going to a private school on the taxpayers' dime. I should also add this happened a month before Columbine. Anyway, a year later, rumors started flying around school that on Cinco de Mayo, he was going to come to school with a gun. He was arrested, without any proof. As it turned out, a local amusement park was doing nickel admission that day, and people saying this guy was going to bring a gun had a convenient bullshit excuse for not being in class, claiming that they were scared it was a real threat. Ugh... (Last edited by Rogue on 02-16-10 12:28 PM) |

I was intrigued when I saw the first two teasers, but this most recent trailer really skirts the line of campy and "Eh, it's all right."
Why in the world is Fire Nation Indian? Oh, M. Night Shyamalan. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-15-10 06:43 PM) |

I'm rejoicing in the fact that I don't have class for another two days. But I still gotta interview people and write a story. Blah. |

Originally posted by Xeu Many people, directors included, consider making a film based on a cartoon/video game/comic book/old TV show the bottom of the barrel, reserved for hacks and fuck-ups. Now while I don't entirely agree with that (Zack Snyder, Bryan Singer, etc), when you have A LOT of BAAAAD motion picture adaptations for those listed, it's not hard to see why the stereotype exists. While I usually don't celebrate VD past getting dinner with my parents, since we didn't go out, Brandon and I ended running all over L.A. on an odd misadventure.
He wanted to watch the sunset from the observatory, which we've done many, many times before (almost every other weekend for a couple months even). But seeing as there was so much traffic to get up to the peak, we decided just to go get cookies from this one place, to which all the roads were closed (it's in a mountainy area). Since it was the day after Chinese New Year, we found ourselves in Chinatown hanging around a temple, eventually wandering over Olvera Street (the oldest part of Los Angeles) where they were having this huge celebration with Aztec and folklorico dancers. Ended up walking around Little Tokyo which was full of gothic lolitas and ravers for some reason. No flowers on this end. Just A LOT of walking in the middle of the night, with the occasional sweet. |

Doing a story on the Westboro Baptist Church for my paper and going to interview them tomorrow. They're freaking scary.
Then covering Comic Expo on Saturday. Good stuff. Have a lot of reading to do for my three American Studies classes too. Fuck broadcast class. Got a nice card from Phil and his girlfriend. It just read "Happy!" inside. Heh. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-18-10 09:51 PM) |

Welcome to the list, Lady Gaga.
A few months back, on a whim, I decided that I might as well find out what this Lady Gaga craze was, as I'd never really heard any of her songs (and if I had, I didn't realize it was her). I dialed her name into YouTube and "Bad Romance" was the first vid to come up. Ever since then that song comes up EVERYWHERE. Friends have it as ringtones and alert sounds for laptops. It's playing on the PA system in restaurants and stores. Oh jeez... |

I went to the protest... as one of members of the Westboro Baptist Church said, it was just shy of a riot.
The WBC was surprisingly nice. Like Shirley Philips was extremely kind and helpful. I think so long as you don't argue with them and you treat them fairly, they don't act all crazy on you. While I completely disagree with their beliefs and their methods of putting out their ideas, it was really intriguing being around them. Then of course Long Beach descended upon them. Thousands turned up to oppose them. It was insane and Long Beach beyond overwhelmed them. They couldn't get to their van and police had to intervene and escort them out. |
