Fuck not sleeping. I went to bed at 3:30 this morning and woke up an hour ago.

It's been this way all week. I was up all night writing a story on this new Rocky Horror cast being led by a female impersonator who was in "The Birdcage," and got his blessing on the story at 4 a.m. The funny thing is I don't feel tired or anything. My head's just cluttered, though. Like there's a wrench jamming a few cogs here and there. Oh god, fuck feeling like someone just shot me in the eye or the back of the head all the time. It's my fault. I just can't sleep in past 8 a.m.

I'm so sorry to hear all this, Twisted, and I don't know what I could say to make you feel better that wouldn't sound like a cliche.

It's wonderful that you're there for your friend, and it's absolutely awful that she has to be put in this situation, especially with a child. All you can do is be there for her, which you are. You're doing great. I'm also very sorry to hear about your uncle. I know what it's like to have a birthday shrouded with such pain (my dad was in the hospital on my birthday a couple years ago). Just be there for Abby and her daughter. Life sucks, but it sucks less when you have loved ones to ease the shitty parts.

I've got 15 units and work. 
At least I've usually got Fridays and Saturdays to myself. Sort of. It's a bit annoying being one of the top journalism schools in California so people keep wanting to hold writing/editing/awards events on your campus on the weekends and you're stuck playing host. I assigned one of my writers to do a story juxtposing the Double Down with the Gorilla sandwich, which is pretty much a hollowed-out cucumber filled with vegetables, nuts, and such. Comparing one overly healthy sandwich that doesn't use bread with another breadless stack of ingredients that's unbelievably unhealthy for you.

I'm with Elara. I HATE spending an ungodly amount of money on clothes. It needs to stay under $20. If my mom is helping out, it might go up to $25 or $30 for jeans.

i happened to be at Wal*Mart earlier tonight, and went through the clearance rack. I found a pair of green cargo pants for $6. I seriously stood at the register for $20 because the clerk swore up and down that I must have switched tags or something and they were running a price check. And even when the price check cleared, they still called the freaking manager to confirm the price. I tend to get clothes from Target or they somehow find their way into my house and rotation.

I got an iPod Shuffle for Christmas a few years ago. Though I don't use it all the time, I'm finding it rather useful in providing non-skipping music during the tedious moments in life (waiting in line, riding on the bus, etc).

As for a particular product line I hate for whatever reason... I guess I'll go with American Apparel. Ick... Still, though. They made the shirts for the Iron Man 2 panel, and those are the friggin' softest shirts I've ever felt. Yep, you feel sinful wearing them.

So after 5 solid days of work and school, I get to spend my two weekend days covering the big-ass Disney convention this weekend. Yay?

I'm stoked. Need to get a flip cam from the safe at work. So yeah, still no days so far where I can just lay in bed for a while or whatever. My weekend days, even if I'm doing something perceived to be fun, it's still working in my off-time.
