| Well, he gained popularity initially by starring in the show Kung Fu, which is speculated to have originally been dreamed up by Bruce Lee and others which was going to star Lee, but ended up casting Carradine. It's believed by casting a Caucasian actor, the show would do better as a Chinese actor like Lee wasn't quite accepted yet.
But also all depends on how much you believe Linda Lee's memoirs, I guess. So insult to injury, the Bangkok Post is reporting Carradine accidentally strangled himself partaking in autoerotic asphyxiation writing that a shoelace was found tied around his neck and penis.

| Well... if there was ever a film adaptation of the Sandman/Death series, I'd want to play Death. She's so nifty. I hope if there is a movie, it does the comics justice.

So who else had to get one of those digital converters for their TV? I'm sure I'm probably one of maybe 10 people who had to. 
It kinda helps that the government gave rebate coupons so you didn't have to pay much if anything at all for the boxes. |

The thing that sucks, though, is that the box is often not enough and we may need to replace the antenna. Yep, the government found a way to make non-cable/satellite users pay for television. |

The problem that I had with having a male and female kitten at the same time is that the female pretty much hated using the box, because it had the male's smell all over it. When we got her her own box, he immediately tagged it as his own. Both of them ended up learning to go outside, as they were both indoor-outdoor, but there was definitely a lot of spraying going on before that. And "bwaha!" about the name. Fappy (may he rest in peace) never really had one name. I originally called in Kamikaze because as a kitten he had a thing for climbing up to high places and then jumping off. And he jumped like with both paws above his head like he was shouting "Banzaaaaiii!!" and knew it was the end for him. Then he was called Tuxedo, which my parents still called him 'til he passed away. Same story, sort of, with Miko. Because she snuck around and disappeared at random we started calling her Ninja. But then I thought of how ridiculous it might be if I shouted that name around the neighborhood , so we stuck her with a sex-ninja name. Yep, Miko's named for a hentai character.
Incidentally, your little Rogue there sort of struck me as a Domino, the mutant who can influence luck and chance. Always hangs out with Bishop. But, you know, it's Ben's name choice.  |

| Yep, hiding's definitely normal. Cats are usually quick to distrust first, though there are some who are out-right friendly right away.
When I was first picking out Miko and Fappy from Shirley's cats, Miko crawled into my robe (as I was wearing a bathrobe at the time), curled up and laid there. Miko also has a thing for always sleeping right up against me, and it's getting really common for me to accidentally roll over onto her or kick her in the face in my sleep. I remember hearing that all this behavior was because she was really close with her mother and was looking to me to fill that void when she was taken from her. She doesn't show any signs of stress (in that regard anyway) either. It's probably something they do unconsciously. Cats don't often do things with a purpose, they just do what feels right. And most of the time as they get older, what feels right is curling up and taking frequent naps. And when that happens it's your sworn duty to put things on them, take pictures, and submit them to Stuff on My Cat. |

Pat Robertson, host of the televangelist show 700 Club (that only comes on because it's a sponsored program like every infomercial out there), who's also said things like 9/11 was the fault of gays, lesbians, feminists, pagans, and the ACLU, all of that... he pretty much said that allowing gays more freedom and safety would lead to acceptance of pedophilia and bestiality.

| Yeah, Fox and its sister station here in L.A., My13 (which used to be UPN), isn't coming in well enough to watch at all. No matter how we adjust the antenna, we just can't see any of it.
Were several of the stations down for you this past weekend? It seemed no matter what we do with the antenna the bar for signal quality never gets passed 10%. |

| Just got back from a geology field trip. My pockets are full of Monterey shale chips from sliding down on mountain on my ass after running up it to check out the Cristianitos Fault, which was all powdery and cool looking.
My shoes are full of sand, I saw a dead seal, some bottlenose dolphins swimming off the shore, and I'm really f-ing tired. |

| All right, I'm finally going to try this one again. Seemed like every time I'd write up a post for this thread my computer would overheat, Firefox would crash, or I'd have to to back to class. *Sigh*
Well, time marches on. I need to flay out some stuff anyway. It'd be nice to concentrate on the positive things. School: Passed all of my classes this past semester with at least a B or better. Hooray for not having to take that bullshit sociology class ever again! I'm taking a summer session geology class with a teacher I really like. Knocking out 4 units in the process. Class is pretty much over in less than 2 weeks. "Work": Going to start my paying job as a features editor in August. Pay's not amazing, but any money's good. Voidcrush, for whom I'm a roadie, drum tech, photog and so on, has been opening for a horror rock musical in Santa Monica. The show's pretty good. The musical's based on a grade-B horror flick from the '60s called "Spider Baby." It's hilariously bad. Makes for one funny and fucked up stage show. Almost Rocky Horror-like. Other: Christina was in town for a month not long ago. We went to faire together, Bogfest, several restaurants and such. We drove up to San Francisco together and stayed with Lee and wandered around town together. Next happy thought, spent some time with Lee. Went to San Mateo Maker Faire, found a late night pinball club to hang at, ate some odd ice cream and so on together. While I was up there, I wandered around San Francisco by myself. Went to the Cartoon Art Museum and snuck a fondle of Rorschach's sign while checking out the other exhibits, walked through Chinatown, the Embarcadero... seriously all over. If I weren't concerned with jaywalking across the Golden Gate Bridge, I'd have walked the outline of the peninsula. Anime Expo is next week. With Comic-Con only a few weeks after that. Hurrah!! Still racking up some new experiences. Good stuff.  |
