| Flo Bots -- "Handlebars"
It was overplayed on the radio last year. And it's such an annoying indie/DJ song. When Brandon and I went this music festival that had Metallica, Flogging Molly, Bad Religion, etc playing the programs had Q&As with a few members from each band. Most of the bands answered "Handlebars" for best new song.

| A couple days ago, while working on the last page I'll have to do for the paper this semester, I heard tires screech followed by the definite sound of cars colliding.
I stood up really quickly, as my desk faces a window, and saw two smashed up cars and a girl laying, bloody in the street. She was standing at the crosswalk that all of us comm students use to get to and from main campus (the communications building is the only thing on our side of the street), and was thrown 20 feet down the street. None of us in the office knew it at the time, but the girl was one of our staff writers. Within a minute, we saw our news director running out onto the street, holding her and making sure she was all right. He's in the army, currently in the reserves. As soon as other bystanders came forward to help him, he took out his camera and started taking pictures for the paper. Most of the people in the office sighed and said taking pictures was invading her privacy. A couple of the pictures were printed on the next day's front page, and we've been getting comments from people saying the picture is inappropriate and unnecessary. I personally feel the pictures put a human face to the accident and inform people that the corner is rather dangerous. This was definitely not the first accident at that intersection this semester, and many students have voiced that the corner needs a "No Turn on Red" sign. Thoughts? Fuck today. No matter how positive I'm trying to be, it's GOING to suck and there's no avoiding it. Got a sociology final tomorrow along with an 8-page paper (that's my fault for procrastination, but I couldn't find my notes for the class, and I swear this professor is making half of the shit up as he goes along), a story to write for the Daily Titan (a bunch of us were to come up with sources, quotes and information and apparently I'm the writer laced with the story), and production day to work through (I may need to teach newbies how to put pages together today). |

If the crowd wasn't enjoying your act, or you fell on your face, or even just exiting the stage, playing music was supposed to be enough of a distraction for you to get off and not look even more foolish. I guess just walking off the stage looks a bit pathetic, but walking off to music isn't as bad. Also it may mask the boos and hisses you get if your act sucks. Better that than them pulling out the large wooden hook to pull you off the stage with.

| I was working on the last issue of the paper when it hit. We're on the sixth floor so it was kinda fun.
People actually ran out the door and down the stairs. A few of us hung out to work on the last pages, but then decided to say fuck it and head out for some air. It wasn't anything huge for us. Got home and few things were knocked over, but nothing major. |

| When I seriously found keyboard cat last week, I watched all of the videos in one night and was just dying of laughter. The next day the videos weren't as amusing, but they still totally beat Rickrolling.

| This sociology class I took this past semester. The professor didn't use a textbook and never had any sources or anything that backed what he would teach us. I swear he was making it up as he went along.
Whenever people asked what "studies" he would refer to that proved what he was teaching us, he'd always answer that he forgot or say something like, "I haven't really studied this, but I have a suspicion." He uses words like "expotential," refers to Einstein's theory of relativity to talk about "apathy fatigue" and "deep acting," mentions that he's a higher being than most people (actually said his dreams foretell the future and higher beings talk to him) and gives us hard tests about his bullshit theories that he says are "cutting edge." The first day of class he gave us each a bio about himself which pretty much summed up with "My dad wasn't there for me, I was poor and downtrodden, joined the military and if you think my class is stupid, you just aren't cutting edge, smart or open-minded." I pretty much answered all but the last one before my phone randomly hung up, so uh... weird personality trait. Hmm... I could just say I'm rather random and like to go to places and do things most people wouldn't find interesting (since I'm not one for going to clubs, etc, but more museums, conventions, festivals, etc), but I'm sure many people would say the same things. EDIT: When it cuts off, I was saying that so far for summer movie releases I'd only seen Watchmen, Wolverine, and Terminator and still hadn't seen Star Trek yet.
