Maybe it's Hayden's star status and all of the stupid gossip about her and Milo, that's aided in killing her for me, but it seems like the show just revolves around the two of them now. I'll say it again, though, WHERE THE HELL IS MONICA?! I've been dying to see what's going on with her and the other folks down in New Orleans, and we got to finally see Micah, but I'm not as interested in him as Monica. They also need to STOP making every other character a Petrelli. What next? We find out Matt's dad slept with Angela?

Personally... I'd love to move to New York, Chicago, London, and so on, but for practicality and filial piety's sake I'd probably stick close to home. I might move 50 miles or so away, but if my parents need me I want to be there for them.

I guess I've come to this feeling since last year both my mom and dad were in and out of hospitals be it for cancer or diabetes respectively, and I'm their only child. I want to be there if there's an emergency. Anyway... What's the nearest thing to you that has a stain on it?

Why am I not surprised? So long as Noah and Matt remain on the show, I'm happy, but why do they keep getting rid of characters I love? Isaac, Eden (I started out hating her and she grew on me REALLY quickly), Kaito, and now Monica?

And that's what I'm getting at here. The writers and producers have flat out said that you shouldn't get attached to any characters, and then they keep dropping hints that Nathan's either going to die or leave you hanging to believe that he's dead, but they won't get rid of Peter or Claire. I mean, they've said they're the only show with the balls to kill off "main" characters, but seriously season 2 was ridiculously about Peter and Claire, and it seems to be going that route again. I guess this is the issue with "large ensemble" shows. They're going to have contract issues or lose track of some characters here or there so they just get rid of them. The list thus far of characters who've disappeared with either a crappy explanation or none at all: - Janice - Heidi - Simon and Monty - D.L. - Hiro's sister (wasn't SHE supposed to take over Kaito's company and not Hiro?) - Molly (Haven't seen her in a while and she's been "sent away") - Caitlin (She's STUCK IN THE FUTURE and no one seems to remember or care) Those written out without any further word: - Claude - West - Zach (Reason for this one is pretty obvious if you watch Fox) - Wireless (In the graphic novels she was killed off, and I heard from writers personally that she'll be "making appearances" this season. If you take part in the cellphone campaigns, she's the one who supposedly contacts you with new information on how to take down the OWI/Company) Am I forgetting anyone?

I'm going to assume that it changes around her and she's aware of it. For all we know, a nuke went off right above her in the NEW alternate future and she got killed off.

*Shrug* Not like I liked her or anything. Just adds to the formula of every season: Bad shit happens. Someone goes to the future and bad shit is even more realized. Better yet, someone paints the bad shit happening. In the future Nathan's dead (be it death by Sylar, Shanti virus, bomb, etc). Peter becomes romantically involved. Girl is written off the show. Claire has a young male friend. Boy's written off the show. Hiro's on the proverbial hero's quest, be it with Ando or Adam. Nathan is "killed" and the world is supposedly saved. When I registered at the DMV, I put down Green party initially, but the lady threw out my registration form and I didn't bother to tell her to keep it.

The next time around, I put down Republican just for shits and it stuck. I just haven't bothered to change it. Meh, I still got to vote for my choice candidate at the primaries, and the blue-haired old ladies who run my polling place always tell me it's so refreshing when they hand a "young person" a Republican ballot.

That was a strictly primaries thing. You know, just so Dems don't purposely vote for someone they're sure the candidate of their choice will beat and Republicans with Dem candidates.

It's actually this community where I blog about what's going on in Southern California. I started it just to remind myself of things I might want to do and see especially since the L.A. and Long Beach communities don't post much any more. Then people friended it and some people have gotten demanding about it, because they're in those communities I mentioned and are dissatisfied with their activity.

It's just I notice if I don't post 3 or 4 times a day, some of them leave or start requesting in my LJ to post more. The hell? Jeez, I make this sound like such a chore though. Actually posting in that community has always been really fun and it's sometimes kept me sane looking for fun things to do for free, but yeah, once in a while I'll get someone who'll freak out if there isn't a post for a day. - Polygamy should be legal. - Vasectomies, tubal ligation, hysterectomies, and removal of any sexual organs should be grounds for divorce. - Being barren or having other conditions that inhibit child-rearing should be discussed on first dating someone along with saying a person has AIDS, HIV, or other STDs. - Senior citizen women should be forbidden from dating. - Unmarried people should carry around cards saying they're allowed to buy or be prescribed contraceptives, as those who are married are not allowed to use such implements. - Abortion doctors who terminate the fetuses of married women should be arrested or severely fined.

California has a proposition on the next ballot that if passed will ban our recently reinstated rights for homosexuals to get married.

I'm tired of hearing the same old argument from the people who want this (Prop 8) to go through: "Marriage is for the procreation of children." I was watching the news when I wrote the above. I'm also REALLY exasperated with people who say things like "Marriage is a Christian thing" or "Gay marriage isn't in the Bible." I don't know how allowing gays to marry hurts YOUR family, but there's also been a few people with bumper stickers that read out, "Because I care about preserving families. Vote YES on Prop 8." Uh...? So yeah, I was starting to exaggerate, but if society actually followed the idea that you should only be allowed to marry if kids are going to come out of the deal, then wouldn't the next logical step be preventing abortions (something conservatives are already strongly for)? Perhaps then outlawing contraception (already "forbidden" among Catholics and other religions)? Who knows? Maybe America will take up the harem idea. I think I have a few times. I'm not much of a video game person, but I got really into games like God of War and Final Fantasy XII where I did spend whole days off and on just playing it in the summer or on days I didn't have class.

I do agree that children need both strong female and male role models in the sense that children who don't often grow to have complexes and mental issues.

Ex: Young girls who don't have a good bond with their fathers or were abused/molested by them often grow up to be sexually active early on, accept abuse from other men, and overall have a warped sense of relationships and intimacy. Same thing with young boys and their mothers. If mommy was abusive or controlling, the boy will learn to subconsciously hate women and perhaps become abusive or have other social issues. Now this isn't to say that all children should grow up with both parents, but children do take their social cues from those who are raising them--racist parents inadvertently teach their kids to hate, abusers produce another line of kids who might grow up to be abusive parents themselves, and so on and so forth. So I do agree that a child should be exposed to both sexes (be it aunts, uncles, grandparents, close friends of parents, etc) and, when possible, all ethnicities and backgrounds.
