Sadly, I've only been to 2 local cons in Michigan: YoumaCon (anime) and PenguiCon (Sci-Fi/Open Source/Technology/whatever).

Both are awesome and fun, but one is very small. YoumaCon had ~12,000 people last year and PenguiCon had ~600.

I wanted to go to MineCon, but tickets sold super fast, and I can't really afford to go. I also want to go to PAXeast, San Diego Comic Con, and Play On Con

Syria is just another distraction. A "Conflict Intervention" or whatever they want to call it, is not necessary. Until the Syrian fighting spills out to other countries, let them deal with it. We are already having enough trouble funding our military properly, so lets not waste more money on another battle we don't need to fight.

So...That happened. Yay for saving the world again! =D

I'm really looking forward to the next doctor, but I have to wait sooooo long! Silly basic training getting in the way of my Doctor Who! Anyway, anyone else like the way Rose played out in the Day of the Doctor? I liked the way she worked with the War Doctor.

Also, Tennant and Smith worked together very well with John Hurt. The twist ending was the best! =P

I leave for Basic Training (San Antonio, TX) on December 3, 2013 (thats tomorrow!). I've got an enlisted position for Cryptologic Language Analyst with a signing bonus and 6 year contract. I'll be able to check back on Xeogaming in February 2014 when I go to Monterey, CA for tech school.

6 months of Basic Military Training later, I'm finally an Airman 1st Class (E3)! I'm still in Lackland as a holdover pending orders, which I'll pick up on 21 May. I'll be reading some old posts, but I wont bump any except this one. =P

I watched the first episode the day it aired in Japan (yay Hulu!) on my long weekend. It was really good. Better animation than before, but the dialogue was still kind of lax. Acting was good and I enjoyed the show overall. My wife enjoyed it too.

Totally saw the movie Interstellar today. It blew my mind, touched my heart, and reinvigorated my love of all things SPACE! One of the best movies I've ever seen. If you haven't seen it, stop whatever you are doing and go see the next showing. If there is an IMAX around that is showing it, go there.

I'm not even joking, this is now my favorite movie.

I get to spend this year back with my parents! 2 weeks of holiday leave seeing parents, in-laws, and friends back home. Then back to school for a few more weeks. I'm finally almost done with training in the AF!

I really like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Infinity War was a bit...dramatic? IDK, it wasn't my favorite. I did really like Solo, though! It was a nice change of pace for the Star Wars Universe. =D

I'm really slow on games... I just started playing Skyrim (with mods to make it look good, of course) a few weeks ago. I'm loving it! I almost wish I had played it when it came out... But some of these environmental mods are just too good.

I've used vmware and DOSBox. If the game in question can run on DOSBox, do that. Its much more stable and actually runs quite smooth. VMWare with a legit copy of Win98SE would work great, too. Heck, you could probably get away with WinXP for a lot of stuff.

My brother didn't want to deal with any of that, so he keeps a Pentium III PC with Win98SE sitting around that he does old games on. You can probably find an old Win 9x box around eBay/Craigslist for fairly cheap, too.
