The other only knows how to gut computers and they hired him for Geek Squad. My best guess is they wanted someone who would only temporarily fix a problem so that Geek Squad would get repeat business having to be called back again to "fix" the problem. I don't know how it is in Kansas, but here in California, they want you to sell things people don't need. Also in many places they've switched to commission so you'll fight to make money anyway. Though I'm not too keen on finding jobs (lucky for me, most of the ones I've had have fallen into my lap), maybe you could try state or federal jobs. Postal work, perhaps? From what those I know who've worked either there's better job security and benefits. What are you majoring in? Usually it's best to try and find jobs in the field you want to go into so that after college you're more prepared. |

I blame a lot of this on the fact that they're ending the season way early this year. They're pretty much rushing to end it.
Tim Kring did the unexpected thing and apologized for how the season started, and the fact that the writers are on strike and he wants to respect their wishes (though he's written many of the episodes himself) he's just decided to tie up all of the loose ends and start over--and this might mean that he's going to kill off all of the new characters that were introduced this season: Elle, Maya, Monica, Alejandro, and Kensei/Adam (and Alejandro's already bit the big one). I have a theory, though. Since Sylar's been spending so much time trying to get Claire's power what if he ends up killing off Kensei and getting his power? |

I filled up 10 bowls, but admittedly when I did it I still wondered if it was a real donation site.
Looked it up and indeed it is: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/charity/freerice.asp |

Originally posted by !X! On that, I agree. Peter sort of redeemed himself on a few points in the first and second season, but he's never been considered one of my favorites. The clincher was in last season when he first ran into Ted and he'd already told Claire to shoot him should he go nuclear. He starts turning red and everything and then they end the episode there with Claire getting ready to shoot him. How did the next episode begin? Peter's suddenly all, "It's OK. I'm fine. You don't have to shoot me." Worst. Cliffhanger resolution. EVER. I think the main reason why they've been keeping him around is because he's really popular with the young girls (who are often just watching for Peter, Sylar and any other young male who comes on the show without a shirt and without them would otherwise tune in to Prison Break, Dancing With the Stars, and so on). The show is supposed to teach us that no one's safe, but there are some characters that seem to be exempt. The other one that's gotten kind of cheesy is Sylar. I have considered him among my favorites for quite some time, but with how little they showed him this season and then sprung a lot of what they did with last night's episode, I'm almost left wondering if he's worth it any more. I love Zachary Quinto and all, but what happened? It's like making Sylar temporarily lose his powers has made him creepy in the not-so-cool way. I think it's Maya. ![]() |

It's probably ABC's way of coping with the writers' strike--just air more Christmas/holiday/family movies and ride it all out.
|
Agreed though. I've never really been one for Christmas specials, particularly when it's just a steady stream of cheesy and nauseatingly campy shit you're supposed to watch with the whole family or whatever. The only one I get all sentimental with is "A Charlie Brown Christmas," that's about it.

I actually called it, weird. Like as he was making his speech, I just knew he wouldn't be able to finish the sentence.
|
Seriously, though, it seems every time there's a future episode or something of the like, Nathan is dead. Sylar killed him, took his power and assumed his identity in the future that would have happened if Peter blew up a chunk of New York. When Peter flashed forward to next year and the virus has practically wiped out the planet, it's revealed that Nathan died in the first outbreak of the Shanti virus. And lest we forget, we were all led to believe that he and Peter died at the end of last season. I dunno. I love Nathan and I LOVE Adrian Pasdar, but was our favorite politician's time just up and he was destined to bite the dust?

Because right now I just feel like writing out some nonsense.

I'm painting my new room. It's a purplish-magenta kinda color called exotic bloom. Kinda going out of my mind since we had to first paint the room with a tinted primer (a medium shade of gray) and the white can still be seen through it, meaning you'll see the white through the magenta color. ![]() Have a test next week. Probably going to skip on the final. Will be driving over to Arizona again soon with Zoso. ![]() ![]() My right knee is fucked up. ![]() Also this is the best restaurant ever. Went there over Thanksgiving break:

Yeah, I wasn't confirming that Nathan is dead, but seriously, they sure like to lead up to everyone thinking he is.
|
I mean, Matt was shot 4 times in the chest last season finale and came back without a scratch. Same with D.L., but then he got taken out at random by a coked-up club-goer. Getting shot doesn't mean anything on the show really, but this saving people with Claire and Kensei's blood is just getting excessive. Agreed on the thinking the season finale was going to be worse. I truly thought they were going to take out most of the new characters introduced the season (Monica, Maya, Elle, Kensei, West) and starting over with the third. All right, so now that the board is finally back up, I think I'll add in a few things here to help with some of the details.

Since a lot of the people who read this thread don't follow the RP or the discussion thread that goes with it, I'll post these things here.
|
Wireless' blog: http://samantha48616e61.com/ If you remember, Wireless is the girl who has the ability to lay the Internet out in her mind and respond, post, and find things without a computer whatsoever. She contacted Ted in the first season and only comes up in the graphic novels and on various websites. Mohinder's website: http://www.activatingevolution.org/ Primatech Paper's phone number (cracks me up every time): 1-800-PRIMA16 (774-6216) They also have their own website, http://primatechpaper.com And there are so many other sites out there on top of these.

Cally got out of the car, closing the door behind her, as two agents, Tom and Felicia, came over, opening the rear door and undoing all the restraints holding Eddie in. His head drooping forward. Taking note of the various fractures, abrasions and bruises, both Tom and Felicia glanced up at Cally, knowing she could be the more forceful one when push came to shove.
|
"Oh no you don't," she said, raising her empty hands. "That's Wilford's bag. I don't beat kids senseless." George groaned. "I didn't d..." He paused and groaned again. "Goddamnit, he jumped off a roof." "Uh-huh," Tom answered monotonely, seemingly in disbelief. George grumbled. Felicia brought over a gurney that she and Tom had set up in the warehouse when they were informed that Cally and George were coming. Tom reached into the car, clutching Eddie around the torso and under his arms, pulling him out onto the gurney. Both Felicia and Tom strapped Eddie down as Cally and George watched. Once they were done, George stepped forward with the pneumatic syringe and injected Eddie's left shoulder blade, near his neck. With that done, all four of them headed down a hallway with Tom pushing a still unconscious Eddie strapped down to the rolling, medical bed. (Last edited by Rogue on 12-05-07 12:30 AM)

Am watching "Iceman," this movie about finding a Neanderthal frozen in ice in Canada/Alaska, unfreezing him and discovering that he's alive and so on. The whole movie's an exploration of humanity.

The ending's beautiful. |
