| H'okay. So, those listed:
Sorcha Boss Elara Rogue Nelrith Sir Aileron Kaijin Katana (I will add anyone else who PMs me by midnight Sept. 1st, their time. NO later.) 8 people. 10 posts a day. 80 a day. 2,400 in a month. (After midnight September 1st, this CAN NOT be altered.) Each post is worth one dollar. We need $2,400.00 to fix that one broken lawnchair from the earthquake on the East Coast last week. People will suffer greatly if this is not repaired. For, where else would we over here have to sit as we post on the board? Snippets from the "rules" of the experiment are: "Now, the reason why this is a network marketing gig is because, for whatever reason, we need to have $2,100.00 by the end of the day on September 30th. (I will take timezone into consideration. And naturally, should I get more than 7 people, or we decide to change the number of posts per person per day, this magic number will change.) But making 2,100 posts in a month for one person is difficult, and at this point, damn near impossible. So, we all need to help each other make this money. (Network Marketing works out a little differently in most cases, but the point is that in NM, no one makes money unless we help everyone else involved make money as well. I'm just applying that notion to how we function here on this board.) Now, here's why I'm counting on some people to not "make the day." The point I'm using the board to narrow in on, is the success of actually HELPING one another, opposed to playing dirty to climb to the proverbial top. So, 70 posts per day...shit, that's the goal, but Katana and Elara only made 5 of their's, because they were too busy fighting over Crosby's love of crying like a little bitch about everything rather than just playing the damn game...( HAHA!) So that means that there will only be 60 posts for the day. We're missing 10. Well, Sorcha just happens to still be here, and Nelrith, and the Boss. So between the three of them, they come up with the 10 that Katana and Elara didn't accomplish for the day. Because remember, if we don't make that goal, NONE of us get anything. (Again, I'll make up some reason for getting this "money" together.) Point is, we can do more than 10. I'm not saying ONLY do 10 posts in a day. Especially since, think about it, if everyone except for two people make their 10 posts, and people step in to make up for what someone else had trouble with, then that's more than 10 posts for the people who helped. This isn't a competition among each other to put people down for not making the goal or anything, either. This is people who want to work together to accomplish something, and since we all need one another, we want to help. Now, does this mean I'm counting out any, say, new members that come along during the month of September? No. And I'm not discounting the people who post here once in a while. But if you are not listed in the new thread I'll make when we start this, then you're going to count for something else. Another factor of the experiment...but I can't tell anyone what I'm doing with that until the end. If everyone else knows, it could effect the outcome, so...yeah." In this thread, if those involved can post by midnight their time how many posts they made that day, then that would be great. I know I can keep track of it through active users and "new posts" but, if those volunteering can let me know here how many they made that day...well, that counts as one of the 10 posts. It's a win/win. It's a post for everyone (because I'll be attempting to update everyday too.) and I also don't have to take what could be copious amounts of time to count every post for the day, and who did what, and who needs to help if they didn't make 10. If anyone has anything else to ask/say about this, even while it's going on, it still counts toward posts if you bring it to my attention here as well. This technically isn't the "exact number" part of my experiment, so I will happily allow things, that aren't spam of course, that make this easier for everyone legitimately count toward this experiment. I'm focusing on another aspect of NM, and will explain in full when this is over. It's 12:35am my time. September I'll kick this off with my first of 10 posts for the entire day. 
Edit: And can someone replace this as the sticky thread? Also...10 posts are within a span of 24 hours. If this kicks off right, we're naturally going to have bouts where we prolly hit our minimum 10 one right after another. There will be more activity, thus more to talk about. BUT...you still have 24 hours. Like now, I just completed two. I have work in the am, so I'm going to bed. I can do the other 8 whenever within the day. Same goes for everyone else. | Thank you, decent teachers. ALL of you had gotten back to be by today, still a few days before the semester, to give me the supply/book list early.
Might not seem like a big deal, but I can get my books tomorrow after work. Which means I can avoid the mosh pit of students and lines. Which means I can work more next week and make more money. THAT, and I like when teachers are easy to get a hold of. Makes life MUCH easier, and I respect them lots for it. |

| This question crossed my mind the other night. I found an old box of "important" shit, and some of it were things I had written. Notes, quick "diary"like entries, pictures...
I really don't seem to change much physically, but I've noticed some other quite significant changes. For one, I'm actually a REALLY confident person. I used to care sooo much about either pleasing others, or just trying not to rock the boat...OR I was REALLY antagonizing. For instance, at home, I was quite the submissive one. If I rocked the boat, that meant my studying was disrupted. Even in high school, I went on grants. Grades are money to me. I couldn't afford to lose what I had, and what I had ultimately earned for myself for college. Outside of the house it was all about fighting EVERYone. Less out of defense and more out of proving myself...TO myself. I felt like if I didn't take a swing at the person looking at me the wrong way, that they would see that as weakness, and it would escalate. Most cases in my younger grade school/early high school years, it WOULD escalate if I didn't...but it was an old habit to grow out of, and in that regard, I grew slower than the bullies that gave the initial reason TO swing. But now I'm legitimately pretty damn confident. I say it like a joke, that I'm so freaking awesome, but I'm not joking.  I just don't condone being a TRUE elitist asshole (I only do it when the people around actually think it's funny. That's one thing that HASN'T changed. Always LOVED making people laugh.) One can be awesome without putting others down in the process...and that's actually what I used to be so afraid of growing up. I couldn't wrap the idea around one celebrating their own potential without putting someone else down. Guess it had to do with the big family or something. Things were a competetion. But now I know it's possible. So I accept the cool shit I can bring to the table. Acknowledge it. And STILL appreciate that I'm not the only one out there who can bring something to the table. Might sound like a no-brainer to most people, but not having the confidence to think like this was a big deal for me.
Like, even here. I get a little more cocky and less of that fluffy "Tee Hee" shit. It's rather embarassing seeing that stuff now. How 'bout you guys? We're all from different places, but it's cool feeling like we're growing up together too. |

| Right now is kinda the middle ground for me, but I have until Wednesday to live somewhat freely. Then the semester starts. I went down Wednesday and today to finalize everything and get all my books and supplies...and I'm already sick of the semester. XD I like seeing people and learning shit, but I REALLY don't do too well with no sleep, and that's what I'll be saying goodbye to.
Work is hell lately. My boss is an idiot. HIS boss is an idiot, but at least HIS boss is a pushover. Short version of a recent issue is, some lady was going postal because she changed her mind and wanted Madden for another system other than the one she reserved it on. Well, we were OUT of madden for the system she wanted it for, and having difficulty locating it. So what does she do? Goes postal. (Short version) and today my district manager calls me and says "Look...I'm going to tell her to come in today...you're not in trouble, we looked into the situation. You were in the right. But she is still a customer, and we're going to give her a 20 dollar giftcard for her trouble." I interrupted him at that point and said "No, if she comes in here, I'm refusing service and if she doesn't leave immediately, I'll have her escorted away in handcuffs. She only had 5 bucks on the game. The person behind her spend almost a grand. And THAT person almost left because of her douchery, so no. I'm not condoning her sort of behavior in my store." And THIS is the kind of shit that has eaten up most of my time lately. This kinda shit. On a constant basis. And it's draining me. |

| Honestly, that scene in particular was MUCH funnier in the previews. I totally understand why people get upset over things like this, but with an open mind, everything is funny. The preview, however, didn't show the full extent of the scene. They took it a little too far...but Dr. Ken's face during the scene at one point was what made me feel bad actually. I didn't even know the other situation.
Besides, there's an old white guy in the movie who is the essence of the old-time mentality, and they make him look like a joke/idiot for being that way. The preview was just hilarious when the old guy was looking at Dr. Ken, as they were chanting, and Ken looked like he was going to piss himself. If they would have left it somewhere around there, I think it would have been a lesser deal...and funnier. **shrugs** In my opinion. |
