| Yeah, that would be fine Phoenix, my story could be judged, informally of course.
Also, I know as a writer I would like to see more constructive criticism, not just for my own work, but for others. No offense intended, but every other review of someone's work I've read is too basic, highlighting what was good, but nothing that was not so good. If there was nothing bad to note, then why did the person not receive a perfect 10 for every category? Just a thought, at least. |

I hope you can deal with this problem as best as anyone can, with devotion and love. It may be tough, but the challenge of it will make you feel better in the end. It will make you feel better to know that you've done something to comfort her in the end. I used to take help take care of someone with Alzheimer's, it was terribly difficult to do. Having the gentleman not know who I was, even though I had visited him every week for over a year. It also had it's moments, it taught me more patience, and it taught me to enjoy broken records. I could probably recant from heart one of his favorite war stories. |

| Xeios' color had returned to normal, and he seemed to be much better than he was moments before. His eyes scanned the badly scarred and wounded Tectalus, this creature would be so proud as to continue fighting, even in such a state.
He lowered his right hand, and left it beside his body. Where his left hand now took on the fight, he drew the gun quickly, and held his arm defensively in front of his body. Xeios' entire body began glowing with a white aura, but the brightest part of the light was focused in his left hand. He seemed to be gathering energy quickly, absorbing some of the residual energy which was thick in the air. "Your move." |

| Erabus could not have known the nature of the aura surrounding Xeios, it was a powerful defensive magic, specifically: a defensive magic which worked best against other magic. The spikes, being made of a magical energy, would cause no harm to Xeios from his current attack. In fact, the spikes would most likely enhance Xeios, due to his absorption abilities. So Xeios did not withdraw his attack, nor try to dodge in any way, continuing with his dive. Upon completing his dive, he planned on rolling closer to Erabus, and placing another charged punch to his gut. | |||

| FYI, I have no problem with fragments, but too many of them can get obnoxious. Although, I tend to couple many fragments with run-ons in order to vary sentence structure a bit, making the story come across as easier to read. | |||

| Things have changed since that old thread Phoenix, such as the Wii not delivering to it's hardcore fanbase and leaving everyone scrambling for carnival games or some shit.
I vote PS3 because it's one of the two choices available, but PC is my lover, never forget that. |

| OOC -- Edit, removing prior OOC, and getting to the posting action.
Xeios saw the continued increase of spikes in the area before him, and slammed his hands into them to stop himself. The defensive magic protected him from getting hurt, and allowed him to grab hold of the spikes for a moment. He leapt to the right, getting away from the expanding wall of spikes, and gaining a different vantage point on the fight. As he leapt to the side, he fired a blast of white hot energy, the energy was fired as soon as he gained line of sight with Erabus, so it would be difficult to detect. | I'm going to retort to True's disagreement with me here, to simply state that he works in a temp agency, yes. But in a business casual to business formal environment, he would still need to keep his clothes neat and in order for him to still have a job at the temp agency. Not saying his place can't be messy, but somewhere with a really cheap rent in a city, a place filled with crime, is not where a temp belongs, imo. | |||

| Seeing as how not every participant has judged, would it be fair to count participant judging?
For instance, every person has an extra set of points, aside from Vulkar, meaning his score would be much lower. If we are doing an average score, then I suppose that would be better, but not by much, as Vulkar would be penalized more for a not-so-great review, where he might have had the fourth person reviewing giving him a point shower. |

| Once the spikes had turned into a hammer, Xeios aimed his initial blast lower. He was aiming for Erabus' legs, which would have to stay rooted in place for him to continue this attack. Since Erabus was spinning, he would have a difficulty noticing the change to Xeios' attack.
The way Xeios intended on dodging the hammer was simple, keep running in a circle, just faster than Erabus could spin. |

| With a downward flick of his wrist, the energy surrounding Xeios' hand disappeared into the earth, leaving a small hole in the ground. He stooped low for a moment, and a visible shield appeared surrounding him. Less than a second later, powerful lightning struck where Xeios was kneeling. Being the way that lightning is, it would strike the highest point in the area, Tectalus. The attack was a standard electrical attack, raining down from the sky. | |||

| Well, yes, the grading rubric needs work, BUT, it's too late into the contest, we will simply use the new rubric for a later contest.
And Elara, I didn't judge spelling because it's silly, everyone got a ten in that category anyway. So if you want to give a better view on averages, simply add 10 to my score, or subtract 10 from everyone else. But either way, it wouldn't affect overall score either way. For instance I'll show something for Cairoi for instance, to show how little adding/subtracting 10 points matters. Elara: 56 Vulkar: 52 Myself: 40 Phoenix: 56 True: 53 Average: 51.4 With an extra 10 points from me: Elara: 56 Vulkar: 52 Myself: 50 Phoenix: 56 True: 53 Average: 53.4 See, a difference of 2 points, and that's how it would be for everyone that had 5 judges. People who had 4 judges would see an increase of 2.5 points. There's no reason to add the points, because in the long run, the scores would all be affected in the same direction. +2 or +2.5 points. |

| Xeios saw the incoming hammer, and did a powerslide under it. Both hammers should now be racing on a collision course with momentum towards each other, and with all of the erratic movements Erabus has been making he shouldn't be able to stop and redirect. As Xeios slid under the hammer, he drew his revolver, and fired a single shot at Erabus' side, approximately where his kidney was. Since Erabus was extending most of his soul-weapon/armor into large hammers, it was very unlikely that he would retract the soul in time, if he even managed to notice the gunshot entirely. It would be especially tough since from the angle Xeios was at, Erabus would have no way of seeing Xeios even draw his weapon, let alone know where he planned on firing it. | |||

| Xeios lifted his arms up, and held them in front of himself defensively, Erabus wanted something better? He could come and take it, at least, he could try to take it. He thought for a moment, Erabus could feel when Xeios grabbed the soul-weapon, that meant that since it was an extension of himself, it would make a great channel for an attack. With that thought, Xeios began charging energy, focusing it on his hands. |
