| Avron nods at Elara, and gives her a small smile. "Hopefully..."
Avron nods in response to Artemis's instructions. Climbing into the seat of his cart he placed his bow next to him, and loosened up the tarp behind him. Then he just sat there waiting. |

| Avron let Farn fallow at his own discretion, with a hand on the reigns. He knew the warhorse could do fine with out much supervision so Avron kept his eyes, and ears open. And his mind clear.
"Now that we have started," He thought to himself "we can get this over with. And I can put... things out of my mind..." |

| Avron looked at Artemis with a furrowed brow for a moment, then says. "I need to tend to Farn before I rest. Makes sense for me to." Avron got down from the cart and unhitched Farn, who walked a few paces away and stood waiting for Avron.

| Avron shrugged. "You know more about this than I. If you think of something, could you tell me?" Avron paused for a moment then said. "But for now I think you should get some rest."
Avron stepped away from Farn to find a spot to settle down for watch. As he leaned against a wall of the cavern he adjusted his covered sword so that it rested comfortably over his right shoulder. Avron then knocked an arrow on the bow in his hand Avron looked around the cavern and saw Elara. "Are you..." He started, but stopped talking, and looked away. |

| Oni walked into the arena via another side door. He was wearing his blue jeans, and black steel toed boots. And other than his black fingerless weightlifting gloves he was bare from the waist up. In one gloved hand he carried the long pole arm like a quarterstaff.
Stopping roughly ten feet from Alex. He gave his opponent a respectful nod. And leaning the long weapon against his shoulder, and tied his hair back. This done he picked up the pole arm and assumed a fighting stance. Left leg leading, and right leg back. He held the staff part of the weapon with his left hand slightly above the balance point, and right hand back towards the but. "Any time your ready..." |

| Avron looks up. "Oh... I was wondering if you were settle down some place, or if you were going to patrol." He said simply. "Since we are on watch together I thought that I should know." Avron shrugs.
Putting his back against the wall he looked across the cavern to the other entrance. To one side he saw the dark outline of shadow as a reflection to light illuminated the ledge the large cat was on. Looking back at Elara he said, "I think that we have the area well covered." Avron looked back at the entrance he was near, and sat down on a rock jutting out from the wall. Adjusting the covered sword so he could sit more comfortably he held the knocked bow ready in his lap. Looking up at Elara he asks, "What are you going to do now?" |

| Oni pisato stepped back away from the swing of the sword, then swept the pole arm across to defect the thrust off line. As Alex started to twist Oni again pisato stepped back but also brought the pole arm down to bring the spear point level with Alex's back. (As he is turning to kick) And thrust the spear point forward.. | |||

| Oni merely leaned back and let the second kick fall short. As Alex moved back Oni jabbed at Alex's knee, and at Alex's sword arm. | |||

| OOC: There is a huge difference between a jab and a lunge. A jab is only using one's arms, and can be recovered from almost instantly.
IC: As Alex's weapon started to lock with his Oni used the new position to his advantage. And aimed a kick at Alex's stomach. Alex was extended in trying to get Oni's weapon locked up. As for that. Instead of pulling his weapon back Oni just twisted his wrists and pulled the haft Along the blade, and away from Alex's blade. Since Alex was pulling so hard Oni allowed Alex's blade to spring up once Oni pulled his weapon free. Pivoting at the waist Oni then brought the blade around in a full swing. To add speed and momentum to the swing Oni stepped across with his right foot to help put the blade along its path. |

| OOC: Ok, I'm not sure I understood you... But I think this response is right.
Instead of blocking, or ducking Oni simply continued the swing. Shifting his weight so that as the pole arm came around it picked up more speed. At a point in the swing Alex started to step in too close, so Oni responded by jumping directly away from his opponent. The momentum of the swing helped Take Oni farther than normal. As Oni finished the swing (no mater the result) He resets himself in his fighting stance, and pisato steps several times back, putting at least ten feet between the two. |

| Avron moves up to Kasai. Kneeling down next to him Avron shakes the elf awake. "Your turn. All's quiet."
Avron lookes over at Artemis and back at Kasai. Then with a nod he moves to lay half under his cart. |

| As Alex's hand started to grasp the blade Oni pulled the staff back, and into the palm of Alex's hand. Slicing deap into his hand. Since Oni was holding the pole arm in a braced way (See the fighting stance he took on the first post.) He pulled the smooth blade free of Alex's grasp.
As Alex came in close Oni simply pisato stepped away. As Alex's swing fell short of it's mark Oni made a feint to jab at Alex's face, but pulled back, and cut at his sword arm instead. (Last edited by GuardianOni on 11-11-05 07:57 AM) |

| OOC: First, the word "slicing" was to describe the motion that the blade was moving. I did not say that the blade cut skin. So I didn't say that it "succeded" in and... honestly it wasn't an attack.
Second, didn't I say that it hurt him. Third, you were the one that grabed the blade. That kind of thing happens when you do that. Fourth, this is the first time you could have interpeted an announcement of damage. So why did you say "You keep saying damage..." ? Fifth, your the one that keeps trying to autohit. Please stop. |

| Instead of pulling the pole arm back or away to avoid Alex's blade Oni simply moved the staff up or down so that Alex would hit it, but in a way that didn't damage it. The flat part of the blade would clip the pole while the edge didn't have a chance to bite into the wood.
Since Oni was holding the pole arm in a braced way, when Alex tried to knock it aside and rush him Oni simply put the spear tip in the path of the rushing man. Even if Alex didn't impale himself, seeing how his momentum is pulling him forward, Oni gave the spear point a little jab in the direction of the on coming Alex. |
