1. If you are rich, you should help others who need money.
Ideally yes. If you've got a bit extra it would do well to use it to help others. This is simply a universal guideline in life like "You should not write in your textbooks" and "You should not stick gum under the table." 2. You can never be too generous. I concur. It's cheesy, but it holds water. 3. Friendship is more important than love. I was under the impression that they were one in the same, or are they referring to "aquaitances" as friendship? They probably mean relationship love as opposed to simply loving thy neighbor. I suppose keeping friends from becoming lovers is important to some people, but I'm best friends with my boyfriend/lover/what have you, and I know he and I would probably still be bestfriends if we do break up somewhere down the line. It all depends on how people are with each other and if a friendship can be preserved after a break-up occurs. 4. You should forgive others when they don't keep their word. Again, ideally you should. Forgive and forget where you can. In a perfect world, everyone would be forgiving and content with one another. But then in a perfect world, there wouldn't be any need for apologies, now would there? I tend to feel betrayed when people lie about significant things with me. Trust is a very important thing (seriously, what's the point of fidelity if people are going to consistently accuse each other of cheating in relationships?), and if you can't trust a person it makes it hard to bear being around them (at least in my case it is). Often forgiveness takes time and soul-searching on the part of the offenders and those whose forgiveness they seek, but yes, I do believe in the end, all offenses should be forgiven no matter their severity. Letting go is the first step to moving on and getting on in life. 5. Love is more important than money. While I agree that if the choice is torrent, romantic passion and poverty or loneliness and endless riches, it would be wiser to choose the one less likely to make to starve to death at the end of the day, I think this is choosing from extremes that just aren't presented in real life. What street urchin, short of a magic lamp, would have to make the choice between extreme wealth and the love of his life? I doubt the question is posing that if you choose love, you'll be without any money at all. It isn't as though there's a neon "Don't hire this man, he chose love!!" sign over a person's head when he goes in for an interview at McDonald's or somewhere. But to finally answer the prompt myself, I agree that love is indeed more important than money. 6. If you are rich, it means that you are a good person. This isn't India. We don't follow a caste system or believe that karma stockpiled from a past life dictated where we would be placed in way of wealth in the next life. So with that said, I disagree that from every angle, the amount of money you are worth does NOT dictate that you are a good person now. 7. It is okay to make a person give up his/her beliefs if you have a good reason. What good reason would that be? Granted I feel that people should respect others' religions and that homophobia and racism are socially wrong, but it's also wrong to impose one's own beliefs and opinions on others. The only cases where suggesting change might be acceptable would be if a person's beliefs are much too destructive (Example: There is a Christian group that believes that doctors go against God and so when a child breaks a bone, they pray for God to fix it as opposed to setting the bone. It's their beliefs, but they might need a nudge that God might be a little too busy to worry about one child's leg). 8. If you have money, you are happy. Only if you don't live in a world of "if only"s. Often the most unhappy people are those who have the most because they worry about the "if only"s and keep telling themselves, "if only I had more of this or more of that, THEN I'll be happy." Thus they keep wanting more and ending up depressed because they dwell on the way they think things should be as opposed to how they really are. Hence why there are so many CEO suicides and rockstar ODs. |

1. If you are rich, you should help others who need money.
Generally, yes. If you have so much money at least donate to a charity that could really use the money or something. Give back to the community, that sort of thing. 2. You can never be too generous. Generally this is true; but if it gets to the point that you are so generous to others that you start hurting for things you need then it is too much. For example, I lent money to someone that really needed it, now I don't have enough money for school unless I can get finacial aid. 3. Friendship is more important than love. I see them as equal personally. Generally this means that you should not neglect your friends for your significant other (or at least that is the meaning I see most often to this statement). Neither should be above the other. My boyfriend is one of my best friends, but I do my best to spend time with my other friends as well, we both do. I've seen people that just seem to forget their friends exist when they get into a relationship and it pisses me off to no end. 4. You should forgive others when they don't keep their word. Ideally, yes. It isn't easy, but everyone breaks their word sometimes in some degree. It just takes a bit of time to get over the hurt feelings, sometimes a lot longer than others. 5. Love is more important than money. I agree. For example, the reason that many marriages fail nowadays is because one or both members of the couple are so obsessed with earning more money that they neglect the person that they supposedly love. Yes money is nice, but what good is it if you lose that special person in the process of getting it? 6. If you are rich, it means that you are a good person. *snorts while laughing* WHAT? Money does not equal virtue, end of story. 7. It is okay to make a person give up his/her beliefs if you have a good reason. Generally I disagree with this, because what might be a good reason to you may not be a good reason for someone else. However if it is something like Rogue mentioned where it puts someone in danger then I am not as opposed to it. 8. If you have money, you are happy. Generally yes, if you have enough money that you can live comfortably (not worrying about bills and with a little spending cash left over) you are happier than if you are hurting for money. However, like Rogue said, that goes down the drain when all you think about is "if only I had more money". |

If you are rich, you should help others who need money. Generally I would.. I mean even though people dont help me.. lol Id help them. You can never be too generous. True, there is always someone who needs something Friendship is more important than love. Now this one is kind of a toughy.. i mean without love a person will be quite lonely in that area of their life.. and without friends they would be lonely in every other part.. heh so can i choose both? You should forgive others when they don't keep their word. A few times is ok but if it keeps happening over and over, maybe you should find a new friend. Love is more important than money. Oh yea, hands down.. money is great but money cant buy you love it can buy you people who love your money but not you. If you are rich, it means that you are a good person. Not quite.. everynow and thena lucky person wins the lottery then yea if its a kind of person that was getting by but not living the high and won it then yea more then likely they are nice but these ppl that make their own million got it from deciet like colossus said. It is okay to make a person give up his/her beliefs if you have a good reason. That comes down to weither or not the person is safe or not if they doing some that could bring about harm or you know is wrong or something bad is going to happen the yea stop them, but if not let them do their thing. If you have money, you are happy. No, only thing it does is cover up yer sadness with brief moments of excitement which you mistake for happiness.. money id say actually makes you sad.. |
