| actually i agree, when i watch gargoyles on jetix, their animated logo jumps out onto the screen after a commercial and i always catch myself, thinking that goliath or some such just threw a pokemon....very disconcerting

Advertisements during a show are so very annoying. T_T I was watching a show with subtitles, and the ad for a show came in and I missed what the character was saying!!! XD And then Drawn together did a parody of that that was funny! |

| Yeah, Mad TV did too. Some guy came on and he was so glad that FOX gave him time on the show to talk about his political beliefs, and then adds kept coming up and drowning him out. Hilarious.
But there is a particularly annoying one on... I think it's FX.. for the closer where she comes out and shines a flashlight at the camera. But the ones with sound are the worst! Also, I think the petition is talking about logos actually on the TV, from the company, because they are talking about screen burn. But then they talk about commercials... *is confused* |

| LMFAO. I can into this thread thinking this was about the user Logos. And then SK says that he hates FX, Xander's old name. This just seems like a giant hate thread.
Anyways, the reason they put the Logo there is to show that it's being broadcast on their channel for one, and two, so no one tries to pirate the shows(even though they still can, it'll just be noticable that they did). I personally don't mind the logos, just as long as they aren't taking up like 20% or more of the screen. They had a reason for putting them there in the first place you know. | I usually don't mind them, but FX is a good example of BAD logo's. And then when logo's have sound, what the hell is that? That's completely ridiculous if you ask me. And usually the sounds are something like a plane or jet taking off into the air for a minute and a half so you get to miss an entire scene of dialogue because you simply cannot hear what the hell people are saying, and then you have no idea what's going on in the show / movie you were watching.

| You know... I think I've finally been pushed to signing that petition. Not that it wasn't something that I already believed in, but I just don't buy into 'net petitions.
While I was watching the extra poignant series finale of M*A*S*H, the one that airs so rarely because they have to get special permission from Alan Alda, and this big fuckin' logo comes up for some CSI-rip-off that's going to be canceled before the season's up anyway. During the final good-bye scene with Hawkeye and BJ, these people as tall as half the screen walk across the scene and hunch down, striking these ridiculous poses, by the show's name in the corner. What the FUCK?! |
