As for me:

- $40 dollars in cash.
- My student ID.
- My ID.
- A Powercard.
- A Student Discount Card
- A gun full of bullet (just kidding.)

Really, I don't keep my wallet full of stuff.

My wallet *pulls it out and rips that mother' apart* (I have one of those wallets that has a collapsed pocket on it and I carry A LOT of old things around with me) :
- The usual cards: State ID, social security card, college ID, bank card, library card, movie rental card (from no-name rental place--MovieTime), college library print card.
- Membership cards: L.A. County Natural History Museum, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific (expired), Museum of Contemporary Art media pass.
- 3 keycards for various hotels (DoubleTree in Sacramento for a journalism convention, Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas for Rocky Con '05, Marriott for Anime Expo '03).
- 2 old health insurance cards (both are no good).
- 2 old Valentines from friends (one hand-made, one store-bought)
- 1 phone card that I bought in Paris.
- 6 "I Voted" stickers, overlapping each other on one of the inside pockets.
- 2 receipts (I recently cleaned out my wallet a little and pulled out all of the receipts I had tucked in the fold where the money's supposed to go in, after doing that my wallet was suddenly able to close again).
- 17 movie ticket stubs (Most of these were cleaned out recently, but I had found a vein of them hidden in one crevice).
- 5 museum admission stickers stuck on the inside of collapsed pocket (3 MOCA, 2 Exploratorium in San Francisco, 1 Japanese American Museum).
- 2 phone numbers from friends.
- 6 museum/attraction ticket stubs (L.A. Zoo, 2 LACMA, 2 LB Aquarium, and Orange County Fair)
- 5 concert ticket stubs (Poxy Boggards/Fenians, Poxy Boggards, Gwar, Flogging Molly, Fear Factory/Strapping Young Lad)
- 21 business cards from various people and businesses.
- 14 wrist bands from various venues for concerts, shows, and festivals (includes Mallrats Reunion, Hedwig at the Roxy, Labyrinth Masquerade, and gay Pride, 8 of them are from House of Blues).
- 12 special event tickets (2 Renaissance faires, 4 Rocky Horror tickets from other casts, 2 movie premieres, sneak preview for Steamboy, Rainbow Carnage, LACMA late night bash, Spike & Mike Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation).
- 2 old Metro day passes (one from San Diego during Comic-Con).
- 2 magnets (Zabuza's business card and Rainbow Carnage's show dates)
- 4 raffle tickets (Might have been tickets to movies at the Art Theater)
- 1 sheet of coupons for Knott's Berry Farms' Halloween Haunt... that's getting thrown away.
- 1 Jones Soda label (Green Apple )
- $4

I'll have to post the contents of my bag later. In the meantime... that's my wallet.

Yep.

It just barely closes.

I know it was just a joke, but what kind of gun could you fit inside a wallet or a purse?

Anyway, my wallet has a tenner in it, a libary card, a provisional driver's liscense, a card for some bar in Chester one of my brother's friends gave me months ago, my UCAS card, an ID card (I dunno why I need that if I have a provisional driver's liscence, but meh) and like twenty pence too.

Are purses strangely huge across the Atlantic or something, or do we Brits just make oversized handguns/tiny purses?

Depends on your definition of huge. My bag is about a foot wide, 8 or so inches high, and is covered with pockets and compartments (among other things). I go for function before form.

If necessary, I could easily fit a handgun in there. Hell, I accidentally walked into Disneyland with a couple knives that I had forgotten to take out that were resting on the bottom of the bag. The security people didn't look that deep and I didn't even realize they were there until I was going through my bag, looking for something.

Yeah, as I noted in my last post I made a mistake. I'm British, and I didn''t realise "purse" meant something different in America. :| My bad.

Sorry, I had hit New Reply after your "Are purses strangely huge..." post and it either delayed or I just took too long with it.

Probably the latter.

It's interesting how things can get lost in translation, even with the same langauge. It's all good, though.

What's in your wallet? An overused meme, of course!
"allen wrenches, gerbil feeders, toilet seats, electric heaters
Trash compactors, juice extractor, shower rods and water meters
Walkie-talkies, copper wires safety goggles, radial tires
BB pellets, rubber mallets, fans and dehumidifiers
Picture hangers, paper cutters, waffle irons, window shutters
Paint removers, window louvres, masking tape and plastic gutters
Kitchen faucets, folding tables, weather stripping, jumper cables
Hooks and tackle, grout and spackle, power foggers, spoons and ladles
Pesticides for fumigation, high-performance lubrication
Metal roofing, water proofing, multi-purpose insulation
Air compressors, brass connectors, wrecking chisels, smoke detectors
Tire guages, hamster cages, thermostats and bug deflectors
Trailer hitch demagnetizers, automatic circumcisers
Tennis rackets, angle brackets, Duracells and Energizers
Soffit panels, circuit breakers, vacuum cleaners, coffee makers
Calculators, generators, matching salt and pepper shakers."

Don't worry, I was in the same position as you.

Of course I didn't say anything.

Oh and now my wallet has a couple of receipts, £6.71 in cash and a card I'm supposed to take to my youth club every time I go, but I don't. (No one does. )
