| Desperately. I'm going to lose what's left of my already-fractured mind. I'm working as the fucking cart guy/janitor for FoodTown, making minimum wage, with no benefits, no union, no 401K, no NOTHING. And just today, I get a call on the phone that the manager says I lost the walkie-talkie. Henceforth, he wants me to pay 200 bucks for a new one. My answer (didn't actually say this): Eat shit.
I am done. I am done working for a bunch of food-nazis in this fucking place. I get no respect, and I feel like shit for even working there. The only people in my goddamn department are either old ot mentally instable. I am neither. I actually have a future, unlike a 37 year old fuck-head who works in my department and is on the same level as me, watching star trek all day. I've fucking had it. God damn assholes, all of them. I'm starting to lament the next 24 hours, when I have to confront my boss, then my mother (since she hates quitters... which is why I haven't quit smoking yet lol). How am I going to make it through without raging into a blind fury, injuring myself and/or someone else? This is utterly maddening. I just needed to rant. | Hmmmm, well, first of all, leave the remmington 12 guage at your house, that's a good way to start not hurting anyone. Secondly, I honestly don't know, talk to your boss about the poor conditions, the fact that you didn't break anything and his accusations are false, tell him you want to "search for a better opportunity," and then say, here's my two weeks notice. Baboom, that's outta the way. Now I suggest talking to your mom BEFORE you quit, just so she knows that you want to quit and the place is driving you up a wall. Just be patient with her, she's your mom, she should understand. | |||

| yeah you should look for a new job just before quitting because if you quit and then leave then cant get a job thats never fun. I'd suggest lowes or a Holiday inn, i've worked at both, lowes pays more but just kinda makes you hate your life but its worth it, and well holiday inn is just easy do nothing work. | |||

| And, definitely realize that jobs are still work. They're not really meant to be fun. If that were the case, then it really wouldn't be work. I have fun with my coworkers at work, but I'm still required to complete my work in order to get paid.
But, yeah, talk to your mom. Figure out what works for you, and until you get the necessary experience, be aware that you're gonna work crap jobs that don't have benefits for a while. I didn't land this good job on the first try. It took a few years of busting my ass and being belittled to get noticed in the industry, and taken seriously for my skills. Find your niche. You also might want to edit your post. This is still a public website, and the government doesn't take any threats to anything lightly. Patriot Act still supersedes (sp?) your inherent rights at the moment. You can lose more than just your job for going off like that on a public forum. (Last edited by Zabuza on 10-26-06 09:43 PM) |

4:55 PM I arrive at FoodTown with my friend TJ. He gives me a confidance boost when he goes in with me. I see Mr. Vaccaro, my manager, and he doesn't even give me acknowledgement. I walk straight up to him, and shove my uniform, vest, nametag, and time card on teh counter, and tell him, "You can have this back now." He replied, "Good." I replied, "I'm out. I'm fucking out." Again: "Good." Under my breath: "You fucking criminal bastard." I kinda hope he heard me. 5:45 PM Arrived back at Brookdale Community College with TJ. My mentality is that of glee, as I feel freedom. We smoke many a cigarette. -Time passes- 10:03 PM I call my mother to tell her I "got out of work, and that I am at (my friend) Kevin's house" which I was. She asks if I still have a job; it seems my dad leaked some information to her, since I shared my plight with him before class today. I responded with silence. She claims she'll walk about it tomorrow. 12:12AM Just got home. Not looking forward to this afternoon. |
