Shadeonyx traveled slowly in the night, guided by the stars though they slowly faded to awe of the goddess moon. Slowly she raised silhouetting Shadeonyx on the desert landscape. Her steed slowly following in tow behind, she thought a moment as she came to a stop. The steed seemingly to understand her body language and stopped. “That’s Good River. We’ll camp her for the night.” She smiled pulling a small sack of water mixed with camel milk butter and letting the steed drink from it. She then pocked a finger in sucking it off slowly. She looked around then leaned down to the loose sand picking up a twig that was half stuck in the sand not fully standing she began to scribe over the sand. The wind that blew the sand very where else seemed to be cut in half around them, the moon glowed around their forms making the ground glow as well. Though at a second glance you could swear the inscription seemed to glow as she unloaded her packs from the steeds back setting up a small tent and camp fire. After cooking some vegetables and drinking water she stood. Calling out in some foreign tongue to the moon that now sat like a giant ball on the hill side of the sand dune that could roll down at any time she began to dance her hair flying in every direction. The steed stood watching silently.
As the sun began to peek slowly bright, yellow and orange, painful to the naked eye yet you could only be amazed at the sun god. Shadeonyx slowly gathered her items to her steed patting him on the cheek softly. “We’ll be in a city soon and you can rest for a while then. I promise old friend.” Kissing his cheek now she stepped taking the lead in this strange and unknown trek that’s led her here. Slowly she came into view of a city. Christopher ran it, he was King and his wife was with child. They’d need her service soon. She was a crone of her tribe; the Gypsy slowly approached the labyrinth city. She let out then a small sigh knowing her presence would be seen as bad by many and just not seen by the rest. Christopher would know she was there. She knew something about him he had yet to discover about himself. The sentry guards saw her watching her come they sent for their captains and they sent for their superiors she could hear them though they didn’t know whom or what she was. They drew their arrows calling out for identification. The wind blew as if to warn the men of something the sand lifted from the ground as if the earth helped in this warning. Then the sand picked her up carrying her on the winds over them. They gawked at this sight some of them fell to their knees crying for forgiveness for their actions. She had pity for them. All they were was ignorant but in time they might learn better of themselves and in turn become one with the world around them. She slowly vanished from sight the sand and wind obscuring her from the site of those below in the city. Seemingly to deposit her on a balcony of the palace. tbc... |
