| Yep, you read right. In accordance with XGF's 2nd anniversary, there shall be a story competition. Here are the basics:
Short story of any genre, 1000 words or less (if you go over by like 50-100 words it's still good). This is going to be a freewrite since no premise seemed good enough to transend genres that has not already been done, just make sure it's well thought out. Grammar and spelling are important. One entry per person! There are two other judges besides me, Katana and Zabuza. Please note that pestering any of us about your stories will lose you points. You will be judged based on grammer, spelling, plot, characters, description, and overall creativity. The winner will recieve either a custom userbar, banner, or avatar. Any questions? Interested? Submissions will be accepted starting 8/1/06, make sure that your story says "Competition Entry" in the title. | Preferably something new, or at least something not posted here before unless it has been completely/heavily rewritten. That's kinda why I wanted to do a premise at first, so all stories would be new, but I couldn't come up with a good one. | |||

| Deadline will be 8/10/06 and the winner will be announced on 8/14/06 (Xeogaming's birthday). If my other judges are fine with this idea of course...
And a roster would be nice. Spread the word if you will. I know Cairoi wants to enter, and I've bugged WhiteRose and GuardianOni as well as Pockets, yourself, and Venomouslobster to enter... we shall see who else. |

| You can lose some points for it... just get it as grammatically correct as you can. Spellcheck and grammarcheck on Word work wonders for it and usually catch those misspaces. | |||

| If I can write a story in twenty minutes, I'm sure you guys can write one in 8 days. After the 8th day, we just won't accept any new entries. So use your full 8 days to create one, but have it in before the 8th day ends.
And, title it something like "Competition: Your Title Here" so we can differentiate in the threads. |

But yes, any genre will do as long as it is not blatant copywrite infringment or plagerism. Fanfics are perfectly fine as long as you mention at the top that the characters are property of their respective authors. The story can even be a "lemon" and I won't care, any genre goes! |
