This was posted on the wall in my office, so I want to pass this along to all of you of whom I care the world about. I honestly don't know how harmful this truly is, but just to be safe:
On February 24 and February 27, 2006, Environmental Working Group purchased the following drinks at four major retail outlets in Washington, D.C. They all contained asorbic acid and either sodium benzonate or potassium benzonate--the ingredients that the FDA and the beverage industry have said can mix together to form benzene, a known human carcinogen. The actual levels of benzene formed in these products may be at trace levels and within legal limits for drinking water. What the funk. Am I supposed to live off of Sprite!? 
First, I have olcers, and drinking dark soda (like Dr. Pepper, which happens to be my favorite) gives me stomach ache's, and headache's quite often. Now this? I can't drink Sierra Mist, Sunny D, or whatnot? Damn pop. The tastes are just too dangerously good I guess.
And it's funny to not see Mountain Dew up there, but hey, it kills the sperm.

Im starting to lay off the energy drinks, caffiene drinks, and just anything with sodium in general (Cept tonic water and Faygo...  )

When I was reading the ingredients on a can of Rockstar, I noticed after the ingredients that were mentioned not to consume when mixed together it said in parentheses, "To protest the flavor."  |
