NOT COMPLETED

Basic Backstory/Public Knowledge-Testimony of Ted, Former Elemental Master of Water, Wiccan Order 1st degree:

Ah, you want to know about Jack Eldridge, do you? Well, I’ll tell you what I know. Compared to most people’s knowledge of others, it might seem like a lot, but I’ll still always view him as a mystery. If you want to know how he thinks, go ask President Kiera. Hell, she’ll know more about what makes him tick. Now, where to get started…

Jack was born 29 years ago to a loving mother and father. He had the highest mana stores a baby ever had at that time, so he was treasured as a gift from those beyond to the impoverished rebels against the oppressive North American People’s Government. They were often called plainly the Government, because they obstructed the people’s common knowledge of the other countries about the world.

Appearance? Well…He’s been known to cause quite the stir in heavily lined city streets. I mean, it’s rare on a summer’s day to see a man clothed so heavily. Or on a winter’s day to see a man so unsheltered against the pouring frost of the season. He’s never been one to look the same for an extended period of time, more than likely due to his wish to not be recognized. His most common persona is his true appearance because he doesn’t like hiding his true face from strangers. However, whenever his past returns to him, he’s one to don a mask to hide himself from the others. He’s not a fan of catching up with people.

Well I’ve gone off on a tangent, haven’t I? Right, sorry about that. His true appearance is pretty much like this: Long brown hair, blue eyes, a little stubble here and there. He doesn’t have any noticeable scars on his face, and he’s got a pretty smooth head. Not a blockhead, intellectually, or physically. Ha ha ha ha…Oh, sorry. What else you want information on?

More into his background, you’re asking me? Well, he had an older sister named Aldis, but she was killed trying to protect her loved ones. Just remembering her death is painful to me. You see, She used to work for the Government, but quit after finding her sibling…I’ll get back to that after I get there. Chronologically is how I’m doing this.

Well, his mother and father tried to get him and his sister into a better life, but the Government made it hard...So hard they died protecting their children. Yep, Jack and Aldis were orphans before they hit 13. Aldis was 12, Jack 8.

Well, Aldis was captured by the Government and eventually believed her brother was dead as well. She became focused on finding another Executioner like her brother had been and fixing the mistake she had made with her brother.

Jack, however, lived on, thanks due in part to his mother’s brother, James Urashi. That man took him under his wing, and also helped fuel Jack’s now enormous hate for the Government. Urashi began harnessing Jack’s potential, and taught him a plethora of spells that complemented his Wiccan blood. Jack took especially took well to wind and fire spells. He wasn’t brawny, but with his sharp mind he discovered how to out punch the strongest with a combination of using air to speed up his attacks and energy to release an excess of kinetic energy. Trust me, I felt those punches. They hurt like hell.

Well, his uncle decided it was time to form a powerful group to challenge the Government. He formed the Five, a group of powerful Wiccan youths. Each found a designated Codename based on their connections with a certain animal and skills. Jack was given the name Falcon. It was given to him because he loved the wind, and because his father was once named “The Falcon” for his heroic acts. Jack wished to emulate him, and so took on his wartime persona. Urashi was the Mantis, for his shrewd cunning and his belief in a higher power that refused to become involved in this war. He often appeared to be praying when he merely hoped for the goodness of man to realize their fatal flaw.

The Five reigned for 2 years, before treachery broke them apart. The Lion, a member of the Five, decided he wanted the Government to stay and attacked the others. He killed the Boar and banished the Wolf to a secondary dimension, but giving the others the impression he had died. He left to join the Government, leaving the Mantis and Falcon to ponder what to do next.

They decided to join the failing order of Wiccans in the Nevada desert, and wait for a new hope to arise. They met me and Toji, the only remaining masters of the order. We did what we could. We helped citizens as much as we could, tried to hold of the Government. We had little supplies, little hope, all we could do was fight.

That was, until Jack rescued Kiera. She was a little woman then, but not too much younger than Jack. She was going to be killed like her parents had been, but Jack stepped in. He was exhausted, but he was compelled by a new force. He had felt the wind around her. The wind he felt when he was truly happy.

Well, Kiera didn’t like the Government either. She wanted to overthrow them as much as Jack did, and Jack was amazed by her ability to weave a plan. Urashi was also impressed, and began teaching her what he could. Urashi and Jack grew attached to her, and they formed a trio unbreakable.

About a year after they got acquainted, they left me and Toji to head to New England. They planned on making a new army, something to end the chaos once and for all. They made an organization called 369…

Well, after a few years, they’d have built up a pretty big base, an army, and an incredible intelligence branch called Witches’ Through. However, it all went astray when they were tricked into a mission that cost them Urashi. Jack was wounded badly, and Urashi had been infected by a shadow. It corrupted him and made him want to serve the Government.

To Jack, it was the worst thing he had ever felt. And the one who had cast the shadow was the Lion. However, Kiera attempted to bottle the incident up and lead 369 without the Mantis, the one who had been the guiding hand behind all their actions. It was like losing faith in a higher being, like losing your idol.

After that, all I know is what Kiera told me. She told me Jack suffered for a while, that underneath all the pain he managed to keep a straight face. Hell, she told me she did just as much.

But Jack found relief in battle. He felt his victories redeemed him, and to keep this redemption flowing, he had to be stronger. With the threat of a Chimera rising from the Government, Jack hunted artifacts to increase his mana, as well as absorb his enemies.

With this newfound power, he ended many cliffhangers life had thrown at him. He ended Shadow Urashi’s existence and freed Urashi from a life of torment, and he used the Lion’s own shadow spell to force him into being a part of the Chimera, saving Urashi’s only son from the fate.

The Chimera was made, and Jack and Kiera had done all they could to gather an army. It was a massive battle, and eventually the Chimera was defeated. All was settled, the dictatorship was over. However, something had changed in him. He didn’t want a place of power, though everyone thought he had more than deserved it. He made appearances about the nation as his friends began to create the government, and eventually, he slipped from the public eye. Tales of his life and his deeds were still remembered fondly by all the people, but he had no longer held the curiousity of the people.

He’s been gone for 8 years, until this very day. I’d hope to see him one last time before I die. If you see him, could you tell him Ted sends his regards? Thanks.

Testimony of Lauren Wilkens, Age 17

Jack...He's a great man. I met him 6 years ago. He saved me from death. My parents owed money to a syndicate that had basically become the government in that city since the old Government fell. Anyway, we were in Mom's car, being chased down by a black syndiate car. I turn back to look at the car and I see it bump into us.

We swerve into an alley, and we're both scared, because we don't have any gas left. We both turn back and see the syndicate car stop outside the alley and we jump out of the car to run. There is nowhere to run. We turn and look at what's going to happen to us, and we hear the ring of the iron wire fence behind us.

Jack jumps from over the other side and stands inbetween them. He...he was wearing a long dark brown trenchcoat, and a brown fedora. He also had on a black shirt and black jeans. He just shook his head and disseapeared. He moved so fast it was hard to follow, and he kicked the gang member's asses so hard I almost laughed in joy.

He then took me and my mother home and asked us what had happened. He didn't tell us much about himself then, instead he listened. After he heard about the syndicate, he left our apartment. Turns out in a few days the syndicate was overthrown. THere were stories about what he did in our city for months.

I don't know when, but he began visiting me and my mother whenever he was in the city. He eventually became a part of the family. I started calling him Uncle Jack. He helped us pay off the bank, even though I never saw him work, and helped around the house. He was a savior to me and my mom, but one day he decided to leave. It was 4 years ago. He left his necklace to me, and he left a newspaper on the kitchen desk. The newly installed government, only 4 years old, were looking for Jack. Turns out he was a national hero, but we didn't hear about him in class. He didn't want a name for himself, though he deserved it more than most of the people in the Senate.

I guess I can't wait to see him again...

Excerpts from Jack's Spell Book:

BASIC SPELLS:

Firos
Moderate Concentration of Fire Manifested
Notes: Firos is basically my way of creating fire using mana output as a trigger to sacrifice combustable materials in the atmoshphere to summon fire. I've learned to do various tricks and styles with this attack, but I've not yet felt the need to name them differently.

Also, using this variation of Firos, I've learned a counter to any fire-based attack in which I expend an amount of mana that disables the chemical reaction and stops the fire. Depending on the severity of the fire I don't even have to spend any trace amounts of mana.

Airos
Air Pressure Manipulated
Notes: By using my found powers of manipulating an energy sacrifically to control elements I'm able to shift the moving air molecules and accelerate them enough to either create lacerations on enemy's skin or heat up the air about an enemy high enough to boil metals and skin. However, the one skill is inhumane and I don't approve of it.

Nucleus Disable
Custom Eldridge Manipulation
Notes: I spent a while studying each humanoid species, picking up common energy traces behind the individual power. So far, I've only mastered this spell in the human variety. It took a while, but I figured out a way to stimulate a chemical in each individual cell of the enemy that induces a coma-like paralysis that can only be dissolved by learning which chemical is overpresent and returning it to a functioning capacity. This spell was designated for ending battles efficiently, and letting any relatives of the enemy see them before the attack becomes too numerous and ends the cells' energy producing functions, ceasing life in the enemy in about a day.

Soul Manipulation
Extremely Complicated Magick
This move is one of my aces, a move I'd rather only use to help people. I discovered that a person's soul enters a body, it basically weaves itself in. Now, I began to learn of this when I was taught exorcism. You see, to exorcise a soul without damaging the original person, you must seperate with care the two souls. They are often rarely together, but extended possesions become nigh unseperable. However, I have learned with exorcism how to remove a soul from a body and use it to my advantage. This is what could be called a dark art, and I never wish to use it. But sometimes, this is the only solution to a problem.

SEALS ARTS:

I have discovered through study of my own inner magick works I have 10 gates, or seals in me that restrict man, almost never to be used unless awakened through divine methods I cannot devise myself. However, I have learned how to artifically open these seals, making me beyond human belief at times. I have an amzing amount of mana in me, and each seal grants me more and more.

1 SEAL:

First Exposure to Light
This is a small grouping of chakra that is normally dedicated to relaxing the body's senses. By releasing this, my senses enhance exponentially.

2 SEALS:

Feel the Light
This move begins to enhance my physical form, making my cells more resistant to damage. My body produces more chemicals, my muscles become enhanced, my skin toughened.

3 SEALS:

Embrace the Heat of the Light
Every person has an innate element of sorts, and mine is fire. It is my most readily created element and I am often immune to it. Anyway, this release gives my body the ability to create fire without spell. It's as though my thoughts themselves give my bodies the ability to control flames.

4 SEALS:

Know the Light
My mind is enhanced to the degree I no longer need use of hand signals, circles, or incantations to properly channel my mana. I am able to do spells with utmost speed and power, with less of the penalty.

5 SEALS:

See Beyond the Light
I am able to see spells for what they are the first time I see them, and began breaking them down and find a counter. Also, from this point on, my hands constantly release flame-like quantites of mana from my hand.

6 SEALS:

Control The Light
I have only touched the 6th seal 2 times. Once was to fight the Lion, the other the Chimera. I fear this form, for rational thought is deprioritized to make more mental room for instant mana usage. There is a higher form than this where I regain my conciousness, so I only use this if there are no innocents nearby. This is the true form of the Executioner, the role I was born into. However, I have ascended past this.

7 SEALS:

The True Light
This is my true power. I guess as one of the three Executioners, we each have our own 7th seal that must be awakened individually. It cannot be duplicated. One of the few people to have seen this called it "The Angel of Magick." I never saw myself, so I cannot comment on this.
