Drizzt do'Urden vs. Guardian Oni ~~~ Items Drizzt Do'Urden has been armed with the Bladed Tonfas. Guardian Oni has been armed with the Great War Hammar ~~~ Weapon Analysis 2 Bladed Tonfas he tonfa, also known as tong fa or tuifa, is an Okinawan martial arts weapon from which the modern side-handled police baton is derived. Folklore says these were originally used as wooden handles that fit into the side of millstones, or as horse bridles, and were later developed into weapons when peasants were banned from using more traditional weaponry.The tonfa traditionally consists of two parts, a handle with a knob, and perpendicular to the handle, a shaft or board that lies along the hand and forearm. Unique to this tournament, the the shaft that lies along the hand and forearm is a single, sharp, steel blade, which slightly extends longer than the wooden shaft itself. Moderately light, the bladed tonfa can be used both offensively and defensively, especially with the addition of the blades. However, in order for the weapon to be used effectively, it requires the user to be up close to his/her opponent. Length of shaft: 25 inches Length of blade: 26 inches Great War Hammer A war hammer is an archaic weapon of war intended for close combat, the design of which resembles the hammer. The war hammer consists of, like the tool it resembles, a handle and a head. The war hammer could deal blows of tremendous force to the target, especially when mounted on a pole, and by impact alone do damage without penetrating the armour. The spike end could be used for grappling the target's armour, reins, or shield, or could be turned in the direction of the blow to pierce even heavy armour. While extraordinarily effective offensively, its heavy weight (requires at least two hands) and its somewhat clumsy defensive capabilites balance the weapon out. One well placed blow is enough to defeat the opponent...assuming the user manages to aim it properly and with the right amount of force. Length of weapon: 35 inches Length of spike: 7 inches ~~~ Rules: Standard Tournament Rules 3 day grace period between each post. 7 day grace period for first post. Failure to abide by rules will result in automatic DQ. Matches will automatically end in 4 weeks starting from the day in which the thread was created. ~~~ Setting: Desert... Midday... | Oni thought that the wind might be nice if it didn't have sand in it. Feet slipping a little in the lose sand Oni reached the designated place. This time Oni wore his leather duster, buttoned and zipped up, with the hood up. As the wind and the sand battered the outside of the leather Oni hefted the war hammer in his right hand. And leaned it against his shoulder.

| Pure white shoulder length hair flailed wildly behind him as Drizzt's apponent came in to view as he came over the last hill in this barren waistland. He sheilded his eyes from the blowing sand with his hand as he slowly slid more than walked down the hill.
As the wind calmed a bit he looked up at Oni and looked him up and down. His stance was one that of a warrior and a seasoned one at that. Drizzt bowed his head in respect for the fight that was to come. He did not wear his usual dark green cloak. It was to hot for that. so he wore a light grey tunic under his mithral chainmail with dark grey pants and soft black leather boots. His anklets of speed were in place on his feet and he was ready to go. He held a Bladed Tonfa in each hand. Drizzt brought his fist's up into a slight fighting position to get his grip right on the handle's. The blade's ran down each forearm with the blades faceing outwards. A drop of sweat slowly made it's way down his cheek from his temple because of the heat. It was going to get hotter he knew. He was ready for anything. | Oni nods to his opponent in respect. Then with a smile he says, "Bit windy, huh? Who's idea was it to meet here?"
Shrugging off the large war hammer Oni held it at the ready. His right hand gripping next to the large head, and his left gripping down by the but of the handle. His left foot forward, toes pointing at his opponent, and right foot back. Oni was as ready as he was going to be. OOC: IRL chain mail is only effective armor against slashing weapons (swords, axes). Because it flexes the force of a bludgeoning attack is not stopped. So because I'm wielding a war hammer it doesn’t really matter. So I don't care if you keep it. | Oni took a few loping strides to close the distance between his opponent, and himself. Just outside of Oni's striking range Oni side stepped so that the wind was blowing sand directly into Drizzt's face, and eyes.
Oni raised the hammer high to feint a strike at Drizzt's head, but swung low at Drizzt's lead leg's knee. OOC: sorry it took me so long to respond. Been very busy. |

| Actually, I'm a little curious as to what I should do first.
Drizzt has failed to post within 3 days of Guardian Oni's last post. However, Guardian Oni's last post was in violation of the 3 day rule as well. But the fact that Drizzt has failed to post makes me wonder who I am to DQ. This fight is closed. I will announce the winner shortly. Edit: Drizzt is the winner since GuardianOni was the first to break the 3 day grace period rule. (Last edited by Sparda on 12-31-05 03:04 AM) |
