I was reading the description again, and decided I take up the offer.

I first learned to ride a bike the hard way: getting on and falling off. I was about five or six or eight years old, and found that I was really accident prone. And, we lived on a steep grade hill in Montebello, the rich side near the Galleria.

Day two into my learning, and I sprained my ankle getting on my bike. Isn't that pathetic. Years later, I can ride a bike, but I thought it was utterly hopeless if the act of getting on my bike caused me to sprain my ankle.

It was fun, though, and I'm glad that I stuck it out. What was your bike riding experience?

Bike experiences...I learned around 5 or 6 and would go biking with my sister up at the local church's parking lot. Fell off a few times at that place. I had biked a lot when I was younger, stopped for many years then I started biking again last summer. Usually went by myself since my two friends couldn't always make a date to go riding. Did some stupid things but got away with them surprisingly, such as riding down my driveway. My driveway at the time had not been paved in about a decade or longer and I live on a bitchin' steep hill, and since once you get out on the street you have about 12 feet before you hit the curb of the neighbor's house.

Bike riding is something I want to do often though don't have the time for it at the moment.

I was on training wheels a lot longer than most kids, and was a lot older when I learned how to ride a bike by myself.

I just remember going down this hill, to the side of my house with a bunch of friends, falling off my bike, scraping up my knee, and having the two of my friends and their bikes all fall on top of me. So, I just think that kind of scarred me from trying to ride for awhile.

Eventually my parents and grandparents just took me off to a park, and basically pushed me off into this trail. I was scarred to death, because the trail was risen up from the ground higher than areas around it (like, hills big enough to where if I fell off I could have done a barrel roll in the air before hitting the ground). But, nothing bad happened, and I was happy I could ride a bike.

Then 5th and 6th grade came, and I was obsessed with biking, and with friends. Not necessarily biking on trails and stuff, but more for the BMX stuff. We'd setup ramps and everything, then I got a really nice $300 Dyno, with pegs for one of my birthday's and it was awesome.

Now though, it's been like years since I've rode on a bike. Just because I've moved so much, didn't really know a lot of people around the neighborhood, and now I just feel like I'm kind of too old to be doing it, or just don't care.

I've still got my Dyno, but the tires have been destroyed.

Growing up, the neighbor kids used to like to take my BMX, peddle as fast as they could, and activate only the front brakes...flying off the bike and landing on the front lawn.

I never understood the fun in that.

I want a new bike now, mostly because the short trips to things and errands would save on gas.

I'm not as into biking as I am skateboarding (haven't skateboarded in like a year though...;_ but like Zabuza said, I like bikes for the reason of those short little errands and such. I did get into BMX stuff for a little bit. It only lasted like two days though. **shrugs** I know how to do little tricks here and there, but otherwise I just got off and right back on my skateboard. Like...Xeo...erm...Mai ...I didn't learn how to ride a bike until I was older. I didn't learn how to do a lot of things 'til I was older, learned how to ride a bike when I was 8 and rollerblade when I was 10, though I was iceskating a bit since I was about 5, but there is a difference between the two. Simply because during the winter was hockey season, and during the summer, I prefered to go swimming. That I learned how to do "technically" when I was three. There's a story there, not going into it. XD

So yeah...otherwise...another thing about bikes is they're an awesome form of exercise. I used to do it a lot during the summer when I got older and played hockey more during the winter.

In the summer I ride about 4 times a week for 2 - 4 miles, just around my area or to friends' houses. Right now is the beginning of an unforgiving winter so I can't do very much outside. I'm getting a new bicycle for Christmas by the way, a bright orange mountain bike that's no Sludgehammer but still will last a long time and be fun to ride.

I learned to ride a bike when I was very young…6 or 7 I believe that’s what my age was at the time I learned. I remember I used to put cards inside the bike wheels to make it sound like a motorcycle.

But now I don’t ride bikes, I usually walk around my street enjoying the nice cold winter or something.

i dont remember the exact age i was when i learned to ride a bike. but i assume it was the normal age: 5-8. i was just learning to ride a bike and i cold ride it but i could not turn. aslo i could not just hop on and ride i needed my dad to push me so i could have some starting momentium. well one day my bor says "lets hang out with -----" so im like ok and he gets on his bike to ride away and im like "uhhhh" so i get on my bike and my driveway is sloped and i start to role and i realize that "hey i can ride a bike" simple as that. course i got in trouble for not telling my mom where i went but thats a whole other story.
