| Green party, while basically being liberal, does have it's little distinction. But yeah, I put down Green... though I do see some things from a Liberatarian view (not health care though, that's Green all the way).
When most people hear "liberal" and "conservative" they automatically associate it with Democrates and Republicans because that is what has been drilled into our heads since we were children. So I think the inclusion of the other parties in the original poll is to give a distinction as to what level of liberal or conservative you are (since Greens are more liberal than Democrates for example). Personally I would have put something like Socialist or Communist instead of listing parties. Like... to be perfectly honest, I'm a registered member of the Green party, but if you ask me what I am idealistically I will honestly tell you that I am a democratic socialist (which has a lot of parallels with Greens in my opinion, but is still different). |
