| I am the eye of a vast swirling hurricane formed of pure drama, though i may be calm, wherever i go everything becomes fraught with the woe of those i surround myself with. i wish i could give examples but i am sure certain people know what i am talking about and franky anyone else would be lost trying to follow the snares and tangles that are my friends lives. but the thing is, i cannot do anything to help any of them! i am paralyzed by loyalties so rather than taking sides i just sit back and watch as the people i care about go around figurativly poking themselves in the eye...it is just frustrating | |||

| What might be confusing and out of place to some people about VL's post is that it was articulate and very well written. This is out of pace on many message boards. No, I don't think he is literally paralyzed, but he is figuratibely because he can't help any of his friends without insulting another...and I know exactly what you mean, and what you're doing is what you should be doing. Just sit back and be thankful you're not part of it, and the storm will eventually die down. | |||

| Well, I don't know what else might be going on... but I guess I'll just say my part in it, which may be the major part... I don't know.
Me and DarkGuardian have broken up. He was nice about it, we're still good friends and still do love each other, but there were things beyond our control. VL, I don't expect you to take sides and I don't want anyone else to do that either. I'm used to having a broken heart by now, this is just another on the list... I'll be fine after awhile. Venom, thanks for the PM, it really made me laugh. You can help best just by being there and being your goofy little self... and perhaps a nice hug next time I see you. |

| VL really does attract drama & doom whenever he hangs out with us (which is quite often), yet it doesn't touch him at all. Go figure! Last night was a PERFECT example, what with my gay husband there. He has like a force field that prevents drama from affecting him hehe | |||

| aside from all that, I feel like i cant get caught up in the drama of others because on some level i am an outsider. i am by nature not the one you come to for comfort because i am blunt about telling people i care about what i think because i feel dishonest when i dont, and most people would like a more padded cushiony version of what i have to say. and i find that though I attract it i am never part of it,really. i see people going off to have private discussions that i am not allowed to hear and it is just sort of lonley...not that i want to be embroiled in chaos all the time...just every now and then i feel excluded in a way that seems dumb but feels no less valid | |||

| OH DEAR GODS I LOVE YOU VL! XD I do the exact same thing. Anywhere and everywhere I go there seems to be people arguing.
Friend: "KRISTEN, YOU AGREE WITH ME DON'T YOU! JOE IS JUST AN ASSHOLE, RIGHT?" Me: *shrugs* "I wouldn't know...he's never been mean to me," thoughts in the back of my head, then again...I wasn't the idiot that dated him, was I? It sucks when people want you to side, doesn't it? Teenagers being teenagers...or adults being adults will attract drama. No matter how old you get those friends with "woes" and "snares" will always be around. Reason? Well, we're human. Some of use produce the energy that reads, "Hey, I'll listen," therefore, they want you to listen. Others, like one of my friends, produce energy that says, "Hey, don't even...I don't want to hear about your problems...go solve them yourself." What you should do is express that you really don't want to offend either one of your friends. If you already do that and they get offended to the fact that you will not step out of the fire to be on their side, its their own fault. They're not very good friends there. Elara has the right idea. Most friends don't expect you to side, they just want to rant to you about it. That is what an the eye of that huricane is for, to listen. I've been in your shoes before, many times. The best I can say is to do what you already do, sit back. Sometimes you will have friends that say, "If you don't drop Joe, I'm going to hate you," what do I say to those friends? "See ya, it was nice." They don't desrve your time of day if all they want you to do is side with them.  ...I hope that helped you some. |

| I've been in your shoes before. It's painful but it keeps from adding to the chaos in the end. I can never do it for long, eventually my maternal instict to nurture kicks in and I do what I can to comfort. As for how you feel, about being left out. Trust me, you don't want to be wadding in the middle of it. | |||
