So we went out yesterday to spend my allowance and to buy stuff for Dad's Welcome Home party. I was a little irritated as none of the stores we had gone to had any games that interested me. One GameStop, K-Mart, Toys R Us... but after we left Taco Bell, I wanted to go to the GameStop in the mall.

There, I found both Final Fantasy Origins AND Chronicles! And I could afford 'em both; total was ~$32.

Now my PSX collection of Final Fantasy is complete. I think. FF7, 8, 9, Tactics, Anthology, Chronicles, and Origins. =)

Blast you!

I have all those, except I can 1 you up.

SNES Final Fantasy III cart.

And I have Dawn of Souls, but I'm pretty sure you have that yourself.

Very good find though, seriously $32 for both of those collections? That's pretty nice.

The only downfall is that Chrono Trigger isn't too enjoyable, the loading times before battles are horrible, as well as simply going to the menu. FFIV loads completely fine though, it just has a big loading time when the game starts.

my SNES died. I bet it's up in heaven now, watching over me. *fake tear*

Seriously, though, I do have Dawn of Souls. But that FF1 was too damn easy, so I had to get Origins.

And I don't care about the loading times. It's freaking Chrono Trigger.

Yeah, but I mean compared to the SNES version ... blah.

But yeah, didn't Origins actually have a Hard Mode? While FF1 on Dawn of Souls didn't?

I'm pretty sure it was like that, I could be wrong though.

You have played FFIV though, right? It's very good, unlike what most people say.

Origins has a normal mode, and an easy mode. Normal's around the same as the original. DoS is a bit EASIER than the Easy Mode, from what I hear.

I've played FFIV, and honestly didn't like it as much as other FFs. Still, it's nto a bad game. Just too damn linear for my tastes.

Meh.
How much did you play? It's true that it's pretty linear, but overall I thought the plot was pretty good, and the game has really good music for it's age (way better than FFV in my opinion).

I beat an SNES rom, retranslated easy version I believe. I got up to the Underworld when I was borrowing my cousin's copy of the PSX one.

I like a bit more freedom to my RPGs, honestly.

... Heh, that is a good chunk of the game.

I know what you mean, but I mean I wouldn't say it was a bad game. I don't know, there's just something about it that I like a lot. But yeah, it's nowhere near being a Breath of Fire IV / Chrono Cross / Suikoden II, or anything.

/end rant.
