| As one of the brutes charges at Drance he remains perfectly still. Reaching into his slightly panicked mind he tried to thin of ways in which to dispatch the attacker, and the one behind that one. But in an instant the creature was bearing down upon him. Sword poised to kill and strike.
Drance reacted by instinct. Trying to jump back and draw his swords to fend off the attackers. Only one of these worked. Due to the bulky, ill-fitting armor parts of it had caught, and when he tried to jump he merely fell backwards. But he did get the swords out. As Drance hit the ground the lead attacker tripped on one of Drance's outstretched feet. Falling upon Drance's short sword. Burying the blade up to the hilt in it's chest. The second attacker stopped short and razed it's sword high to strike a vicious blow to Drance. But the young dark elf was faster. Drance's long sword flashed and severing it's leg at the knee. As it hit the ground bleeding profusely Drance stabbed at it until it stopped moving. Getting to his feet Drance looked around for his next opponent. |

| OOC: You really do not like that half-plate do you?
DM: *Skye's sword flashes repeatedly, clearing a circle around him, those that are attacking him making sure to stay out of his reach when possible. As Drance is standing, one of the larger creatures, charges at your exposed back, running between two large bushes. As it runs by, something large and white leaps out of one and slams into its side throwing it into the other bush, a large spray of blood erupting from it a few seconds later, accompanied by a feral growling. As Zaphrina turns, a spear flies through the area she was just in, and would have driven into her shoulder, instead it continued to fly on and glanced off the back of Drance's helmet, spinning it all of the way around. Morwen's axe embeds itself in the chest of the second creature, but snags on a rib as she tries to pull it back out, acrid smoke billows from the wound as another creature steps up beside its dying companion, swinging its battle axe across at her neck.* |

| "Holy Goddess that spear was a little too close for comfort." *She then cringes as she sees it hit Drance's helmet. As she is about to inquire if he's ok, another creature charges at her, catching her off guard and making her fall back. She struggles with it and pushes it back and quickly rolls to her feet as it lunges at her again. She sides stesp and turns slashing at it* | |||

| Right after getting to his feet Drance's head get knocked violently forward. And the world goes dark to him. After a few heartbeats Drance realizes that the ringing in his ears is a good sign that he was still alive.
Drance drops his swords and reaches up with both hands to grasp the helmet, and struggles to turn it back around. While struggling with it he unknowingly dodges a sword stroke from another foe. Finally getting the helm off his head Drance sees the enemy again readying himself for another attack. Drance out of surprise Drance reacts without thinking. As the thing brings it's sword down Drance steps into the swing. Catching the arm at the wrist Drance pulls and falls backwards. With the addition of the drows strength and momentum Drance is able to throw the large creature. Some how the throw was in the direction of the main fighting. (One of the other groups of combatants. | *The thrown creature flys torwards some of the others, and hits Morwen, knocking her over and making her lose her grip on her axe. This saved he life, because the axe and the creature it was embedded in did not move, and the other's axe just barely missed her head. It continued on and took off the head of the creature next to it. Skye, seeing Zaphrina being hard pressed, sweeps out with his sword, the creatures prdictably fall back, one backing into the one fighting Zaphrina. That was all of the time he needed as he lept forward and impaled both with his greatsword. Realizing that he would not be able to pull it back out in time, he lets go and grabs one of the creatures' greataxe.* | |||

| Drance looks around while on his hands and knees. Counting the enemies quickly he noted how far out numbered he and his new companions were. Casting about Drance looked for the one that seemed to be the leader. Spotting it Drance got to his feet and scooping up his swords ran at the brute. Upon approaching it he slashed with his long sword holding the short sword ready to defend himself. | |||

| *Morwen went into a forward tumble as she fell, rolling behind the creature and coming up to her feet again behind him. She scooped up a greataxe as she rolled, and before the creature turned around she swung it, taking off his head*

| *As Drance charges the leader, another one of the creatures swings his axe in a sweep that slams into Drance's calf, tripping him. Drance fall about a foot shy of the leader. The leader, who has not gotten into the fight yet, flips Drance over and plants a foot on his chest, pinning him to the ground, and causing him to not be able to breath.* | |||

| *A massive white bear rears up from the bushes and lets out a massive roar, stopping everyone dead in their tracks. Even the leader lets up his foot a little. The bear drops down to all fours and charges the leader, dragging him to the ground, it large maw clamped over its throat. The leader drives its axe into the creatures back several times, each strike seeming weaker than the one beore.* | |||

| Drance still is choking because when the creature stepped on him the chest plate was dented in. The chest plate still dented Drance was still unable to fill his lungs with air. Drance started to writhe as the lack of air started to cause him to see white flashes in front of his eyes. Drance started to panic. Grabbing the top neck of the chest plate he tried in vain to pull it away from his chest to breath. | |||

| *Two of the remaining creatures turn tail and run, two more charge at the bear, driving their spears into its flank, it rears up and bats them aside with a swipe of its mighty paw, then clamps it's mouth back over the leader's throat. In the pause, Skye was able to pull his greatsword back out and is carrying that once more.* | |||

With only Zaphrina helping him with his armor Drance's vision was starting to blur. His lungs felt as if they were filled with fire. Reasion started to leave Drance's mind and he tryed to trash about in an atempt to get the bulky armor off. Drance's thrashing quiclky weakend, as he felt as if all his energy was being drained out of him. The young drow blinked up fearfully, looking for Zaphrina. But somehow it seemed that the night was growing too dark for even a drow to see properly. |
