| So this technician predicts there'll be an earthquake in this part of Italy. A group of scientists analyzed his data and method, and the media goes about misreporting the meeting, underplaying their determination and saying that they think the technician's prediction is completely wrong.
A week after the day the technician predicted the earthquake would take place, it happens in the place it was predicted and 300 people die. The scientists who "denied" the technician's prediction have now been convicted of manslaughter and have been sentenced to six years in prison. The American Association for the Advancement of Science had gathered 5,000 scientists to support the charged and even wrote to the president of Italy, but apparently to no avail. Thoughts? |

| This is precisely why I hate mass media. One famous person's over inflated and undeserved sense of self-worth is worth more than a studied person's knowledge. Because of what was mis-reported, these people are now wrongfully sentenced.
