This is something I've noticed in every Matrix movie (including the Animatrix), Sucker Punch, and countless movies, games, and anime shows -- the three-point landing.
I'd notice it all the time. Someone would do this crazy jump/fall and gracefully land -- sometimes genuflecting -- with their hand flat to the ground or in a fist, and then they'd do this dramatic look up. (Last edited by Rogue on 07-17-12 09:45 PM) |

As overused as this silly pose is, I've never once seen somebody do that in real life. I'm assuming the people that I've seen fall on their face were the ones that attempted. | |||

Yeah, I think it's just a mythical movie landing that's carried over into every aspect of pop culture like people slowly walking away from explosions.
I mean, it looks like it would work in theory if a person is lithe and light enough to not end up breaking their legs, but yeah, I just don't see it really working out. Maybe some parkour guys have done it? Hm. (Last edited by Rogue on 07-18-12 12:41 AM) |
