So whenever I make threads like this I tend to get a lot of interesting questions. In fact, someone in the NWO thread asked me if being a Mason has something to do with a New World Order. Which in fact it's false. But that was a good question nonetheless!

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is basically a Fraternity. It takes good men from all around the world with different backgrounds and religions, teaches them guides for better ways of living, and makes them into better men. Better Family Men.

Mind you that no man walks into a Lodge are brainwashed in any way. In fact. Men who walk into a lodge choose to walk in on their own free will. That's right. If you want to be a Mason. You can be one!

How can I become a Mason?
First, you have to believe in a Supreme Being. Next, you must be an upstanding individual in your community. Then; you must be interviewed. Mind you that you will not be harmed. And no one will touch you. It's basically Brotherly love, relief, and Truth. In accordance to you. The member; if you so which to join a Lodge. Also, you must not be a Slave, or a Female (In some states. There are Female Freemasons.)

But the best way to become a Mason is to find someone who is one and just simply ask: "Can I have a petition"?

Yep! That's it. Just ask. I alone have about three petitions. Which is a simple forum in which the person (Maybe you) fill out questions. There are questions like "What is your name". "What is your address". "Do you believe in a Supreme Being"? Simple questions. Once you fill out your petition. The Lodge must vote upon you joining. One "No", and you will not be one. But before they vote however they must get to know you. Meaning you will be invited to a cookout. And finally a personal interview in your own home. If you are invited. Well, the rest is up to you. No one will ever force you into Freemasonry.

I'm someone who has never heard of this before and would like to know more. Where can I find out more?
Well, I own two books which explain "Secrets" and "Information" about this fraternity. All you can purchase at your local book store.

First off: Freemasonry for Dummies: By Christopher Hodapp. I have met this man once and he signed the book I purchased at my Lodge. This book has a lot to cover about Freemasonry, including handchakes, phrases, and etc. However, there is a Disclaimer: DO NOT! USE ANYTHING IN THIS BOOK IN ACCORDANCE TO GET INTO A LODGE. ALSO. THERE ARE SPOILERS!

Thats right! Anything you find online will be spoilers! Meaning once you know about the "Secrets", you will soon find out that it will spoil all of the fun!

The second book has a lot to do with History as well as the Secrets. It was also my first book when I became a Master Mason

Secrets of the Freemasons: By Michael Bradley

The above book is great if you want to learn about the history of the fraternity. Once again, do not pull off any of the stunts you will read in this book in terms of being a Mason. It only spoils the fun and Master Masons such as myself will only just laugh at you.

There is also a thread on Something Awful in which I frequent in: Ask me about Freemasonry. It's a very good thread and provides a lot of information. Plus a ton of crackpot jokes here and there. My name on SA is Katamari Democracy

What about the Shriners. York Rite. Scottish Rite?
Those are appendant bodies. In which once a Man becomes a Master Mason they have a choice in joining a higher fraternity level. I chose the Shrine. Why? Because I want to drink all day while dressed up as a clown! Also, the Shrine get's to wear those cool hats! But more importantly. The Shrine is one of the top charities in the world. Having over 5 children hospitals that treat burns, spine, and cancer. All for free. No questions ask. The Shriners are all about having fun, and helping Children. It's also home for the Shrine Circus.

York and Scottish rite I hear are boring for a person my age. So SHRINERS!

What about us GIRLS?
Oh we love and respect you girls. You gals have The order of the Eastern Star, Rainbow girls, etc. There are plenty of fraternities you girls can join to be a part of Freemasonry! (And it's a big hit with the fellas ) If you need any help in joining any fraternity for you ladies. Just ask me!

What is your degree Bitmap?
3rd Degree Master Mason. But I am basically a 32'nd Degree Shriner. I also own one of those funny hats! (I won't post it. So please don't ask)

Why is this in the Debate forum?
Because I am sure there are people out there who can learn a thing or two about Freemasonry. Also, people who are against it; I am here to listen and answer in the nicest way possible!

Are there any videos I can check out?
There are plenty of videos! I have two of them I want you guys to watch!

Ask questions! Make mistakes! Get Messy!

ONE FINAL NOTE
If you are seriously interested in joining a Masonic Lodge. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT look up any secrets, handshakes, phrases, or rituals this fraternity has to offer. It only spoils the fun!

So I was out delivering papers tonight and for some reason, this popped into my head. I was interested by it the more you posted about it, but I still don;t know what most of it means/is. Hell, before you posted any information on it, I thought it meant you were a plumber, to be honest. Haha

You answered the question 'What is Freemasonry?', but I still don't think I understand. Like, what do you do? How do you learn this stuff?

I ask all of this because I am more than interested in this. I like the ideas and everything that you have posted so far, but I would like to know a bit more about it.

Well, before I say anything: Do you know what a Fraternity is? Freemasonry is the world's largest Fraternity. Guys who meet up in a building either do ritual-based dramas using tools / guides, discuss charity work, or just meet up and shoot the shit.

My grandfather was a Freemason... except he wasn't allowed to tell anyone what it was he did. How are you able to tell us?

Erm, I kind of know what a fraternity is. They're in college and the sort, but I have no idea what they actually do.

Some people don't like talking about it. I talk about it on occasion. But I never spoil anything to the point to where it just ruins the fun.

There are things I can talk about. And things I can't. I'll be sure to say which questions I can't answer whenever needed.

But back then you were seriously upholding the "Secrets" the Freemasons had. Now, thanks to the wonders of the internet you can find about 80% of the 'Secrets'. Basically the phrases and languages we use to communicate with one another.

But hell. Wanna see something? The times are changing! Freemasons are literally opening their doors to the public to get more people to join. It's not because they are desperate in hopes to pay their bills. But instead, to offer another alternative to your life. A Brotherhood so to speak. Hell if I meet anyone I have never seen before and they are a Mason. I know that he has my back, and I have his as well. He is my Brother after all

So after watching this. Wanna see a Masonic initiation? This was aired on the Discovery Channel, and had full permission to air it to basically put all of the "Freemasons are Satanists" to rest. Before I link the video there are countless of websites out there that claim that Freemasons worship Lucifer (In a way, you COULD say it's true. But I ain't spolin' it!) and that their 'initiation' for a new canidate is full of blasphemy. Well, watch this:

(Skip to 2:45) Mind you this this is a super huge spoiler and I would not watch it if you don't want any fun ruined!

Now before you go into a Lodge, you might hear the words "Goat" a lot. "Oh, he is gonna ride the Goat"! This is just to scare you a little bit. But you will always be reminded countless times that no one will ever hurt you. And that everyone who will be watching you has undergone the same thing you did. Was I scared? Oh God yes, My uncle said there was gonna be a cabletoe around my neck and if I had a boner they would drag me out of the lodge. But alas, I did have one around my neck, but everyone was just fucking with me.

Erm, I kind of know what a fraternity is. They're in college and the sort, but I have no idea what they actually do.

If you have that fancy high speed internet. Watch the first video I linked. But like I said meetings are for new members who are first coming in. Charity events, etc. I can't say too much.

I asked and got sorta clarified... Ben's dad was a Grandmaster and is in line to be head of the Shriner's lodge (potentate?).

So do you know anything more about the Scottish and York rites? Also, explain the degrees.

The illustrative Potentate. Which is basically the head clown. Or the leader of the Clown Clan at any given Circus / Charity event. Which is fun as heck.

Also, what are you getting into? Eastern Star? Rainbow girl? Tell me!

So do you know anything more about the Scottish and York rites? Also, explain the degrees.

I don't know a damn thing about the York, Scottish, Templar, Eastern Star, Rainbow, or other orders. I only know of the Free and Accepted Masons (F;AM) and The Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (Shriners).

The degrees? Sure!

In a Masonic Lodge. There are Three degrees:

1- Entered Apprentice: Basically the starting point.

2- Fellowcraft: The middle point. In which your studies begin and end.

3- Master Mason: Your teachings end and your bodies begin. You have free reighn over the York, Scottish, and Shrine.

Now 4th and 33rd I can't name off of the top of my head because I went through these rather quickly. However I do have a Website in which you can see each degrees. But for those of you curious I'll go ahead and name a few:

10th- Master Elect of Fifteen: This degree teaches about fighting the oppressed against the oppressor and of toleration against intolerance; that is, to the cause of human freedom, corporal and mental, against tyranny exercised over the soul and body.

21- Grand Master of the Key of Masonry: Shilding and protecting the innocent of unjust accusation; not hiding the unjust from it's own brethren.

32- Sublime Knight Commander of the Royal Secret: Supreme successors of the Templars. Victory over human succession, excess. Philanthropy is a practical reality. No Virtue is acquired in an instant. But step-by-step.

E- If you want to go over each and every Degree, Just say so. But it will take forever.

That's an amazing question!

If you do not believe in a Supreme Being: You will not find anything in Freemasonry.

Why: Most of the teachings basically kinda push you into going into your God of choice. If you don't have one then why even bother?

Kinda funny on how inside a Lodge you can not discuss religion / Politics. These are the two things that separates people! This has been going on for 300+ years now.

Bonus Answer: What do you believe in?

Christ Almighty died on the Cross for me. He died for my sins and was raised for me. Thus proven by faith that he is my God. He also teaches me that I should respect any and all religion by my fellow brethren.

I'll go further. If God can be a burning bush, a Mormon God, and Gods of greek nature. Then he can definitely be Jesus. Which is why I should respect any and all religion. How is that for an answer?

Heh, Goats.

Yesterday night I was at the Shrine Club hanging out with my brothers and family members. We had a fun 'trial' in which all of us rounded up over $11,780 by having an actual judge (Shriner) charge people over stupid shit.

I was charged $220 for having a beer in the courtroom. Not being a part of the circus this year, and secretly in love with another Shriner's wife. Almost everything was true. But I still had to pay the fine by getting 'donations' from other shriners in the courtroom. But I paid my dues and helped kids who needed it

I remember my first courtroom story. However at the time I was not a Shriner and my WM and Uncle were basically telling me "Ok, we are not gonna tell you where you are going. But we are gonna tell you what to do that is gonna blow everyone's fucking mind."

Starting out? I had to take shots of alcohol. You know: let myself loose a little. Then on the way to the courtroom, my brother purchased for me a 6 pack of budweiser. And a little flask that had Wild turkey (151 proof).

Basically, they did not tell me where I was going until I was actually there. Columbus GA courthouse. A real one.

We got into the building and I was shocked that the cops let me in with alcohol. Like "Oh, go ahead. We know this guy".

me:

Then my Uncle spilled the beans. "Dale, I want you to bust these doors open. And while you are walking down the isle. Take a couple swigs of your beer. Then once you get in front of the judge. I want you to take a swig on your flask and just say: "What's up. Doc?"

me: ... Are you fucking kidding me?

Them & Police: No, trust us. You HAVE to do this. And when the judge stops screaming his head off. Keep on keeping on. Don't worry about fines. We'll cover it.

So, after I got my balls in place. I knew this wasn't gonna be fun for me. So that's what I did.

*BAM* *Takes swigs of beer* *Slaps the beer on the table while taking a swig of wild turkey* "...What's up Doc"? :smug:

Then the judge throws his hammer on his desk, fined me $500 for disrupting his courtroom and bringing alcohol to court.

My responce was: "$500? That's pussy shit. Double or nothing bub"

Next thing I knew the whole room exploded with people raising five dollar bills in each hand.

The whole courtroom was filled with Shriners. And I paid my dues.

Garsh...

Scary for the first time. But once you get over that hump you pretty much are guaranteed to have a "Party with no rules or a beer is on us" kinda party. Either way, I never paid for my beer at any Shrine party I have been a part in. Hell, I one time asked for Blue Moon, and even though they did not have any they still managed to get some in less than a half hour. All for free.

It's pretty nuts.

Also, being a part of this party netted me 3000 points. I now have five hours of flight time if I ever get a call about a child getting badly injured. I can call this hotline, put in my info, and say "Hey, *Name here* is at *Hospital* I want her to be air transported to *Shriner Hospital*."

And how do I earn more points? Doing parades. Clowning it up at charity events and circuses, and raising money like what I did last night. I donated $100 to the Shriner's hospital in Alabama.

Not gonna mention the user here. But someone in Xeogaming was interested in Freemasonry.

Let me first point out that I will have nothing to do with him getting into the lodge. I only gave him information, and the nearest lodge closest to him. I never forced him nor recommended it.

If anyone would like to know a lodge closest in your area. Feel free to PM me and I'll get right to work. But just know that this is some serious stuff you will be getting into. Lifechanging even.

Scientology is new. Freemasonry has been around long before that. And believe me, we know about those Scientology goofballs. It's a crock of shit that should not even belong as a religion. Freemasonry, again; Isn't a religion. It's more a way of life that is very VERY beneficial.

Like I told said user on Xeogaming about the fraternity. It's power. Imagine talking with a person who is a fellow mason without speaking or using any phrases.

It's easier than it sounds. Which is power.

Not to mention what you will be doing is helping people who deserve the help. Kids. Young adults going into college, etc. It's something that will make any human feel good in life. If you are interested. Like always. My PM box is open.

I don't mind. It was me.

Also, you were right, Bitmap. They told me that if I didn't have time that I should get everything together, such as college and the sort. So, I am taking classes this semester and figured that in the time between semesters, maybe I can join up.

I'm really looking forward to it. I'm actually going to school for social work, as well. I've decided I want to help people a lot more than I thought before.

Also, thanks, Bitmap.

Well, I request this thread closed.

I had a moment in my life last week that pretty much pointed me into focusing more on God than actually being a part of a fraternity.

I called up the WM of my lodge late at night when I had my experience with God and my sins. And I pretty much told him that I won't be coming back into the lodge. Ever.

Not that the lodge did anything towards me or anything. I just feel that I need to just...leave.

Will I ever debunk the secrets? No. Can you easily find them online? Yes!

I will admit that being a mason did indeed change my life. But my God can change my life far more than any man in this would ever could. So it's high time I started focusing my life towards God by learning the good news about the gospel and preaching the word to my close friends and family.

So yeah, I won't be representing the freemasons anymore. Therefore, I won't be answering any questions.
