Thanks for all of your condolences, it means a lot.

I told my mom what you said, Rogue, her response was "Well, you have to be strong when you don't have a choice."

That is a very good point. Still, not everyone could do that in her situation, and that is something praise-worthy.

So yeah... those two jobs? Now add full-time school to that. I was up for over 40 hours between Monday and Wednesday last week. Hopefully I can avoid that in the future, and I may ask Giant Eagle to take me off the schedule until the semester or Iron Mountain ends (at this rate the semester might come first).

I'm dropping my grandmother off at my aunt's house today, and then I'm spending the day in L.A. to celebrate my temporary freedom.

I'll be out of town next week. From Monday through Thursday, I'll be in Central California helping my boyfriend's dad, then Thursday I have to head home and pick up a friend at the airport who's flying in for a convention. Then Friday, Brandon, my parents, and I are driving into Arizona for the long weekend.

Finally something to do other than feel pissed off about life.

It finally snowed a good bit here, haha. Oh well... hopefully this is the first and last major snowfall of the season! Got a ton of work done on my car over the weekend too, two new tires and all, so perfect timing there.

Need to make a 45-minute drive up to my evil aunt's house because she needs my grandmother's insurance card and my grandmother had gone and hid it in a box in her room here.

Why can't I just mail it?

Having a going away dinner for a friend tonight. Everyone's pissed because the hostess accidentally invited someone none of us wanted there, which also means after the get-together, we're probably going to be stuck hanging out with her for the rest of the night.

EDIT: Motherfuck... now my aunt wants me to take my grandmother back saying it's our time to take Lola and is giving some hammed up, sob story about her health. We had her for a month and it's not barely 2 weeks.

I have a feeling every time I have some sort of a good time, fate decides I need to be dragged back down to Earth.

Since the last post above, which actually involved taking my grandmother to the hospital, she has pretty much fallen apart and I'm the only one taking care of her.

*Sigh*

Well, there's a few things to look forward to on the horizon. I was going to go to Arizona this weekend, but the plans fell through because the friend we were going with couldn't get time off (she had it, but then she got scheduled), but Brandon's family is in town so we're probably going to have a get-together.

Next weekend, we're going to WonderCon in Anaheim with Stitch, who's graciously giving us his extra professional badges. Hopefully, before then, my uncle will have placed Lola in a home.

Sorry to hear Rogue, I've got another friend having some parent issues himself and he's been kind of forced to care for them as well. Definitely kind of selfish of others perhaps, but it is what it is sometimes I guess and you're stronger than others taking up the responsibility...

Work took it out of me again this week, that about sums it up. And my car is overheating again after a third radiator was put in (have had 3 in the last 3-4 years only). Ugh, worst part is the shop that did it is only open during the weekdays, which is a pain to schedule around with my job. I can get to work and back but that's about it, hopefully I can get it looked again soon.

Rogue- Despite how frustrated and angry you are with the lack of help, it takes quite a bit of strength to do what you're doing when no one else will. You should take some pride in what you're doing for your grandmother.

Xeo- Sounds like you have an issue that's not a radiator… Or you go to a crappy shop. lol. Have you tried just replacing the cap? It could be worn out/not sealing.

I'm busy… 30 hours of class a week. I've never studied so much in my entire life, not even my intense anatomy and physiology classes. I don't have -time- for a job, let alone a social life. It's kind of a surreal experience. And a first world problem, lol. I've never gone to school and not worked.

Think I was tired as I didn't go into too much detail with that post... but I think I know the real issue, when I ran over some cylinder block a few years back it bent the front of frame pretty good, so the current radiator was "bent" towards the bottom to be mounted and fit. I wonder if that's it, since the one before was bent. I'm fairly pissed this shop I took it to didn't even tell me about that though, my dad says he trusts them... but egh, they didn't even call me when they were done, I had to call them after I got impatient.

So I could be screwed any other way. Frame damage I'm sure it's really expensive to fix and so yeah, if that's causing it I don't know what to do. I feel stuck on the issue too since I doubt I'd be able to sell a nonstop overheating car to anyone.

That said, I have been lazy and haven't checked the cap or fluids in awhile. Somedays I've checked for leaks after driving somewhere and parking though, I never see anything... but yeah.

Googling around though off and on and it sounds like my model has a bad history of overheating. Bah!

A belated thanks for all the support. My grandmother's been in her nursing home for a couple weeks now, and she seems to be doing OK. We get complaints from the nurses for this or that from time to time, but she's in no danger or being kicked out, as far as I know. Still, Brandon and I went to visit her last week when we had the time and she kept thinking we were there to take her home, so she got all excited and then cried when we left. This experience is so damn heartbreaking.

Sorry to hear of your car troubles, Xeo. Framework is indeed pricy since it's the vehicle's foundation. Hope it all works out.

And, Belial, I'm so damn proud of you, living your dream in another country and everything. Go you!

Well, I'm finally a little busy, in the good sense, I suppose. My mom is paying me to write some blurb about the Divine Mercy for her church's newsletter. She's trying to get me work doing fliers as well, since I re-did the old ones of hers for her church group and apparently it impressed some people. Seeing as one of my majors had me practically chained to a desk doing page layouts upon page layouts for newspapers, doing a flier for a series of Catholic masses ain't no thang.

Then I've still got to write a WonderCon report for my friend's website and edit pictures for it. I'll probably write some other articles while I'm at it. And of course, I still have to read Stitch's manuscript and edit it.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, Brandon and I are going to be extras for a shoot.

Next weekend, Voidcrush has another show, which means more picture-taking on my part. I should really have my best shots printed for a portfolio or something.

My hope is that when I go in for job interviews, I can tell them I've been busy with projects on top of caretaking for an elderly relative. It sucks having no real experience out of college.

Yeesh. I finally got a new job.

Granted, it isn't great, but it is much better than where it was. I'm currently working as a full-time Room Attendant at a Marriott hotel. I think the pay is $8.25/hr, but the full-time really puts me over what I was doing at my last job. I actually don't mind going to work now.

Also, I think I finally figured out what I want to do for a career. Nursing. I'm going to be taking a RN certification course in the Fall (maybe the summer) and that will get my foot in the door at a hospital. Then I'm going to transfer from community college over to either Temple or Holy Family. I'm kind of excited about it. It pays great, I get a lot of time off to write, and I get to help people. I might specialize in cardiology, considering my own condition.

A bold field Phoenix! But if you're serious about it definitely go for it. Just remember you might have to start off at some crappy place near the start for a year or something, just to get experience in the field. My sister who's been doing nursing stuff and a friend of mine who graduated have both had it kind of rough, as usual lots of places are still looking for older people with experience or something.

There's some other programs too around here that only need certifications. Like phlebotomy or something, one class, one cert, and I think they start at like $13-15 an hour or something.

If only being a mod/admin here counted as work experience. I think I've written billions of words here.

It was a busy weekend. Being extras is an endurance trial.

Now it's a ridiculously busy day with almost too much on the old plate.

You know, I'm just gonna go to the library and pound out all of these articles people want, right now.

I'm on so many projects thats it's not even funny anymore.

I got this game that I am making

Followed by computer repairs that I posted up on craigslist that I'm fixing.

And finally I'm working on yet -another- PC. Not for myself of course but it's for an old friend.

The whole computer repair thing I did was I posted a thing on Ledger Enquirer promising "Cheaper than Geek Squad and promising solutions to your problems in a day" that I advertised and I IMMEDIATELY got calls. So I guess I found a second job.

This second job is actually pretty fun and I'm going to stick with it.

I'm sitting down for what feels like the first time in ages. Although, I don't sleep standing up, and I sit all day at work pretty much, so....guess it's not really an appropriate phrase? :p

But I finally feel like myself again, and not this mental whirlwind that was just going through the motions. I was taking care of my gram up until she died last month. Rogue would understand, most definitely. I loved her to death and she raised me, so there was no such thing as not taking care of her. And maybe it's just me, but doing right by her and making all of the sacrifices I made has made her passing much more bearable and while I'm not heartless, I'm not a bumbling idiot that's always reduced to tears over it. It's sad, but it's life, and I got to spend a lot of time with her

But the week she died, I landed a new steady job, plus I was like 3 weeks away from midterms. While I never fussed over tests before, there has been a bunch of other shit going on.

I'm getting commissions, so I've been busy with my art. (Elara, I didn't forget about Dahlia. I'm just not making any promises because I need the money more than I can afford the free-time. ) Plus, I'm taking 6 classes, and still maintaining my 4.0, working full-time. It's only 4 days a week, but I put in about 46 hours each week anyway. I landed one of the law firm gigs. No file clerk position either. I'm a "legal secretary." No paralegal just yet, I only just switched my major, but the pay is much nicer than anything I've ever experienced (Still not enough to get a car and move out AND support my family, my grandfather is all alone now, and my mom is on disability and my step-dad has cancer, so I couldn't leave them even if I COULD afford it.).

But yeah, I'll be a paralegal soon, and I'm still doing art on the side.

I'm just finally having a little room to breathe. Work-load didn't decrease any, but I have a better handle of it, so I'm feeling more like myself.

And yay Temple! Phoenix! We can go to school together! Hahahaha!

And Rogue I really admire what you've done for your grandmother. I hope all is well and she's getting used to the nursing home. We were going to have to send my gram to one too. I physically couldn't lift her up all on my own, no one else could help me, and she couldn't help me move herself either. The thought of it broke my heart, but it was going to be done if she didn't pass when she did. It's not easy.
