Now before you claim to hate hip hop and turn away from this thread, hear me out. I'm not a big fan of what most would consider mainstream hip hop, but these guys truly do break the mould.
Scroobius Pip's lyrics are so inspiring and clever, and Dan Le Sac's beats are amazing. They're both British, which adds to their awesomeness. Very few of his raps are proper raps, where most seem to be just spoken poems with a beat behind them, but they compliment each other incredibly well. I think it helps that the man known as Scroobius Pip is a poet, or so I believe, with his knowledge of old poetry and such, where his name comes from in fact. But yeah, if you think you don't like hip hop, at least give these guys a listen. I recommend 'Angles' and 'Letter From God to Man', they're my favourites so far. Unofficial 'Letter From God to Man' video because the official one isn't as good in my opinion, even though it's a little more complex than this one. Angles music with a picture of something... Official 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped' video Official 'Thou Shalt Always Kill' video |
