Well, shit.
I guess I have to go with my first edition copy of Mark Twain's "The Private Life of Adam and Eve," since it's 1) one of my favorite books, 2) it's by one of my favorite people, 3) I cry whenever I think about the final lines of it, and 4) Brandon used it to propose to me. What language do you wish you could speak and why? |

Latin, because it would be a hell of a lot easier to go for a PhD in history for me... fuck teaching high school at that point.
What is your favorite type of juice? |

Either peach or cranberry. I'm hugely into lemonade, but I tend to not count that. Oh man, Johnny Reb's has peach lemonade. It's one of their only redeeming qualities these days.
What's something you're proud to have shared or imparted? |

My lesson plan research on Japanese internment camps during WWII for my friend's research paper. He got a good grade and learned a lot about that chapter of our history.
What is the worst instance of human douchebaggery that you have witnessed? |

Witnessed personally? Living so close to L.A., we see it on a somewhat regular basis, and hell, I could easily say it's infiltrated the various groups of friends with which I interact.
Hm.. The worst cases are usually when I'm in Hollywood. OK, wait, no I've got one. And it was a fight I personally had with someone. We were at the Halloween Carnival in West Hollywood, which is a very gay-friendly event in the gayest neighborhood in SoCal. I was really aggravated by the crowds and general rudeness I was witnessing/enduring when I saw a guy finish up his bottle of iced tea and throw it on the ground like he was spiking a touchdown. He ran off to rejoin his friends. Out of character for me, I picked up the bottle walked up behind him and tossed it at his back (my thinking was muddled. I was originally going to tap him on the shoulder and hand it to him saying he dropped it and should be more careful next time.) We begin a very sloppy argument of him saying that was highly inappropriate (though he didn't say it like that) and I asked him, "Did that bottle belong there?" to which he responded, "As a matter of fact, it does!" I said no, that it belongs in the trash, and he proceeded to try to steal my hat saying that's where that belongs. I grabbed onto him to get it back, he dropped it, I let him go, and he ran off, occasionally turning back and shouting, "Don't mess with me!!" Yes, I acknowledge I was stupid, but flagrant littering ALWAYS pisses me off. Still, no excuses for my behavior. What Disney character do you find the most sexually attractive? |

Yikes, tough one between Jasmine and Ariel... I'll go with Jasmine since she's a badass.
I'd like a female perspective on that question haha. |

For me, it's between Flynn Rider and Tarzan. Mmm... between Flynn Rider and Tarzan.
Do you keep to yourself or make friends at your work? |

I'm more outgoing thesedays and it even weirds me out sometimes, like wow I'm the one striking up random conversations or being the first to say something to someone new to meet them. Kind of makes me feel good that I'm not all that shy compared to many others. I don't know if I'll ever really make good friends at my job though since it's a data entry desk job and kind of a big company, 24/7 campus, so everyone is kind of doing their own thing. I have some nice cubicle neighbors but nobody around my age.
If you were only allowed to watch one show for the rest of your life... which one would it be? |

While I could say "Game of Thrones," I'd rather go with something that doesn't have a linear storyline wherein I need to watch it in order to know/remember what's going on in each episode.
Hm, I'd either go with "King of the Hill" or "Rick and Morty" since I find them oddly comforting and I tend to put them on to fall asleep to them. Would you be able to go vegan (no animal products and by-products AT ALL)? |

Not a chance in hell. I am more on the carnivore side to begin with... but to give up all of it? No... not happening.
Why the hell did I just catch my cat trying to eat an office chair? |

Because cats, man. They do inexplicable shit and call it part of patrolling your compound.
I guess the more scientific answer could be honing their sharp teeth and reconnecting with primal urges to hunt and tear things apart. I don't know. CATS, man. Other than whatever implement you're reading this on, what are the five things closest to you right now? |

1. My phone
2. A sheet of paper with the heading 'TOUKO L', a horizontal line and nothing else 3. A pair of headphones 4. Packet of tissues 5. Empty glass because I stack them up for a day and then put them in the dishwasher |

Meh, it was pretty solid overall... though I found Windows 7 a bit faster.
What game has the most replay value for you? |

I would say the "Fallout" games, but I haven't felt like replaying them lately. For some reason I just really want to replay "Bioshock Infinite," but it won't fit on my system, currently, unless I take off "Fallout 4." Argh.
I used to replay "Final Fantasy XII," some years back. No idea why. I mean, both FFXII and "Infinite" have the same endings no matter what, while the Fallouts can be different. "Fallout 3" is still my favorite of the bunch. What's something that gives you immense, difficult-to-contain joy? |

Small furry animals... the squeeing just cannot be held back. Especially if I get to hold one. I'm surprised you cannot hear me all the way in California when it happens.
You know, I am going to ask the same question because I want to hear others responses to it. (Last edited by Elara on 06-11-16 01:45 PM) |

Realized this thread is almost 8 years old. Clicking through pages, saw this answer to the question, "Do you have a humorous answering machine message?"
Originally posted by Ryan Christ... Back to our regularly scheduled programming. In answer to the question: realizing I taught a client something and it stuck. I'm not even kidding about how many times I've erupted in excitement over this, even little things like a client remembering my name after I'd already been working there for more than a few months. Like one of our more elderly who has trouble remembering said my name once while addressing me, I stopped dead, and just started shouting and clapping, going, "You said my name!! THANK YOU!!" Recently I've been working with a mostly non-verbal client and getting him to say things in basic sign language. I discovered he knows and can say most of the alphabet and count to 10 on his fingers. He's very limited in how he says things since he was allowed to go without speaking for so long and was never given speech therapy. Anyway, I have it so that when I ask, "Jeffrey, what's your shoe size?" he puts up 10 fingers and he can also do the signs for "thank you," "eat," and "bathroom." It's the little things that make me so happy. What is one pro and one con of where you are living? |
