Well, there's "The Guild" starring Felicia Day, which I liked enough to go out and become an unpaid extra for. Then there's Mega64, of course. Can't really think of any others off the top of my head.
You have friends visiting and it's getting late. Do you let them stay 'til they're ready to leave of their own volition or kick them out? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-06-15 03:21 AM) |

That's a tough one, because I hate to admit... I've become more of a morning person over the last few years, and 1-2am is really pushing it for me when that's normal to some of my friends still. Last time my roommate and I had people over, they all love to talk and ramble on forever and once 2am hit I just finally told them I was going to bed and went to my room. But I have a roommate so I can cheat a little if I want to escape.
Otherwise... I don't know, I think I'd still tolerate allowing guests to stay as late as they want if I had my own place. Because I've been around the "bed time" friends and it's kind of annoying actually. But maybe I'm on my path to being there... Really in general I think if I had my own place I'd host way more get togethers. There's just too much to worry about with an apartment (third story), etc. What is your living situation? Do you own a house or see that in the near future? Wish I did! |

I live with my mother-in-law. Though I pay all the utilities and bills... she takes care of the actual house payment, lot rent, and taxes portion of it. I'm not really a fan of it just because I am constantly reminded by Ben that this is not "my house"... though I've heard him refer to it as "his house"... though in all honestly, it is either her house or our house, because to be perfectly honest, she couldn't afford to pay for all of it herself. But that is a side rant for another day....
In all honesty, I want my own house. Not a modular house in a park. I want my own home on my own land. Or, if I have to rent, I want my own townhouse or something. I actually find myself missing the shithole apartment we had in Long Beach just because it was ours... my name was on it. But yeah, unless I manage to land an actual career job, I doubt a house is in my future. How do you prefer your books? Hardcover, trade paperback, regular paperback, or digital? |

I love holding books and would never forsake paper for a digital format, unless we're talking audio. I'll take any kind of books, so long as it's good. I love graphic novels and those are trade paperbacks. I've been reading lots of hardcovers lately since the books I'm reading are usually new releases. I'm quite partial to a well-worn paperback, though. Yes, long live books.

Dove. I used to go cheap with Speedstick but it dries me out. Nasty.
Do you prefer dubs or watching foreign film/anime in their native language with subs? |

Depends on how I started them. If I saw a dub episode first, I tend to stick with the dub. Same with subtitles. I just like keeping the voices consistent in my head.
Now with live action films and whatnot, I definitely prefer that in whatever language they're speaking. Dubs for those are distracting and usually terrible. Have you ever had a supernatural experience? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-08-15 09:36 AM) |

Yeah, I'm still certain that my childhood home is haunted. Long story short, there was some kind of protective spirit there... I called him George. But yeah, I saw him. Other family members saw him. You'd usually see him in the middle of the night, this shadowy figure just watching you before he'd vanish. I honestly kinda miss him.
Assuming that funds, space, training, and laws were not an issue... if you could have any animal as a pet, what would you choose? |

I always wanted an orca whale or dolphin when I was a kid. The ideal situation for that would be living on the coast with them just coming to visit me whenever I happen to be on the shore.
Otherwise I've always been partial to the idea of keeping a big cat like a domesticated one. Not to get all Princess Jasmine, but I have always wanted a tiger. Hopefully it wouldn't be like my cats and lay on my ass while I work on my laptop, laying in bed. What's something you initially didn't like that eventually grew on you? How about green foods haha. Grew up avoiding them for the most part, but now I'm older and not an invincible teen anymore so I try to balance out my diet. I love broccoli, make asparagus a lot, and put spinach on everything I can thesedays.
I agree with Rogue on your question Elara, a tiger or lion came to mind if it was possible for a pet... haha. How big is your TV? Do you need to go bigger? |

Currently it is a 42"... we had a 50" but a lightning strike fried it. Still looking into replacing it or repairing it.

Hm, cashews would be the easy answer, but I'm also quite fond of pecans, especially when it comes to pecan pie. Trader Joe's makes candied pecans that are pure lust in a bag for me, and the fiber outweighs the sugar content.
What's your favorite TV theme song? |

The Game of Thrones opening... yeah, no one is surprised. Orphan Black is also a close second.
In a similar vein... what is your LEAST favorite theme for a tv show? |

"Enterprise" has probably the absolute worst theme ever. Pretty easy to despise.
Of the shows I loved, though, I was oddly unimpressed with the one for "Rome." When they did their own theme song power-up moment by playing it when Vorenus goes to save his kids, it just didn't have that punch to it for me. Eh. And this season's theme for "True Detective" is really growing on me, despite so many people hating it. What was your last real stroke of luck? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-09-15 09:59 PM) |

The cherry blossoms reaching full bloom while we were in Washington D.C. despite us going the week after the festival. It was perfect.

I associate them with Sharknedo now. Not sure if that's good or bad. Didn't they make a few sequels? lol
Don't you love the 80's? |

I've always been much more partial to whales and dolphins, but I think sharks are fascinating creatures, all the same. We've been hearing about an influx of great whites off our coast, especially near the piers (Seal Beach a lot, and Huntington Beach has supposedly been closed most recently), but I haven't seen them myself.
Anyway, they're usually the coolest exhibit in any aquarium. EDIT: I typed up this answer and then went and did other things before coming back to finish the post. To answer Xeo's question, I'm "meh" regarding the '80s, I guess? I was born in that decade, sure, but I'm much more of a '90s kid. And even then, I sometimes feel like I'm a '70s kid what with how much of the shows I watched came out of that time and how so much of our shit was from the '70s that was never redone in the '80s. Well, '80s pop rock is cool. You hear someone call another person an "asshat." What mental image does that conjure in your mind? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-12-15 02:06 AM) |

I guess I associate it with a coder/junkie basement dweller kind of fellow, the nerd that gives nerds a bad rep. It just seems like one of those annoying terms born from the internet. lol?

Yes, but as long as I feel secured (in a building, tied to something that doesn't move, etc) then I can deal with it. Those drop rides... fuck those.

Doesn't matter so long as it's a smooth ride. I think my favorite was Montu in Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, but I haven't ridden it since 1999. Six Flags Magic Mountain's X was amazing when it first opened. You're staring at the ground as you're falling toward it.

My family loves Jimmy John's, I'm not a huge fan, but it's not bad either. What I really miss is Quiznos, we used to have several around here and they were a little pricey, but probably my favorite place for subs. Maybe the high prices got them or something, they've all mostly turned into Subways. I guess I'd take Subway over Planet Sub.
I love putting Doritos on my sandwich... meats, cheese, and lettuce/spinach is about all I need on my sandwiches. Have you ever blown out a tire on the road? (Last edited by Xeoman on 07-14-15 10:19 AM) |
