Road || Dogg and Haz0r have been working hard to release the open Beta of Star Wars RPG. Which is a mod from Starseige: Tribes

Right now, Road Dogg is still working on the website, and I cant exactly define a set date for the completion, but they are working on it.

Road also made a quick video to maybe attract some people.



Anyways, Ill be skinning on this project, but im also planning on learning minor scripts (Even making my own Bot!) and quests. Should not be too hard.

Ill update this thread when the Download is up. And Dont worry, Tribes 1 is a open-source download.

Im a lvl 4 Admin *In Training*, and also part of the developer usergroup: Skinning lead.

Right now the Beta is going well, Hazor is working on Sandstorms, NPC's, and Bots to fight.

Road Dogg is just there for mapping and Textures, so is Jobo I believe, im not 100% Sure.

But right now things are going pretty damn smooth. If anyone has any questions joining or installing Tribes SWRPG, PM me or sign up in the Forums

Also, the Main site is up as well, If you want to start learning, I would suggest starting here

I believe we get our models from the Tribes Junkyard, and Hazor is somewhat experienced at it.

An update tonight will, for the first time in Tribes History: Sandstorms instead of the shitty RPG Rain we got going on.

I'm with Spartan, those models are ridiculously boxy. I'm in first year 3d doing my first character model and it's not even that bad.

EDIT: Maybe the rigging does something, I don't know, just throwing that out there.

You never played RPG then. We got Robes, re-configured armor, etc.

And like I said to Xeo, if you DO decide to join, dont expect to play a WoW game right off the bat. This game is SERIOUSLY OLD, and takes MINIMAL experience in Game Coding to even play this.

Its like a mix between Asherons Call, and a MUD, and if you dont know either one of those, you may be out of the loop for awhile.

Edit- Plus I dont think the Models will be "Improved", If you already SHOULD know, OpenGL supports a certain amount of Poly's, and we are already pushing the issue with all the shit we keep putting into it. LOL

A good modeller knows how to optimize for looks...Typically a good model has around or under 1500 Poly's

and that lovely OpenGL Limit you speak of is modifiable...I'm just tossing in my two bits,I could demonstrate some of my work if I threw together a model. A shame Insomnia Studios fpsbanana page went down I had some good stuff up there.

Have you ever modeled for Tribes?

However I have seen some thing that made the game look better, I will say that, but mostly we have all of the models we need. And if we need some, im sure Hazor and Jobo will make them.

And FX, we know you hate this game, you are done here.

Edit2- Im sure if you want to, you can join the forums and learn how. Im not truely experienced in modding for Tribes, but im sure itll be fun for you to learn how Spartan. Go ahead and join up.

I'm pretty sure modeling for Tribes wouldn't be any different than modeling for anything else.
