I'm looking at Microsoft Official website, but nothing pacific that I need to find. I need to know how to Move the Win98 backup files to WinXP? I'm expecting to get WinXP very soon. Also, I looked it up about switching Oses and said that I have to reinstall every time I switch the application.

I'm not entirely clear on what you're asking for here. If you're upgrading from 98 to XP, there should not be much to do really. For safety, you could burn backup copies of your data onto CD or DVD before you install XP, but unless it tells you that it is formatting your hard drive, you shouldn't lose any data. If you REALLY want to be safe, you could get another hard drive installed, remove your current one, install XP, and then plug the old drive back into the system. Then you'd still have all your old files, and you could even boot to the old OS if you needed to for some reason. But if you just want to transfer your settings (desktop icons, start menu program listings, folder views, etc) to the new installation, I think there's a wizard for that in XP.

Get another hard drive

Backup all the files you need onto the Slave HD you have installed (It should tell you how to make a slave HD on the HD itself)

Install XP on your MAIN HD.

Done deal.
