It's about a boy and his father who journeyed to an ancient Chinese training ground called Jousenkyou in order to train themselves in the martial arts, but ended up falling into the cursed springs there. Now Ranma turns into a girl when splashed with cold water and Genma (his father) turns into a panda...

Anyways, has anyone read or seen this series? And if so did you like it?

I love this series. Ranma 1/2 vol. 1 was the very first manga I read and I've loved it ever since. =D The anime series was great as well although I haven't seen all of it, but that's okay since it's practically the same as the manga. This series is pretty much what got me into martial arts in the first place.

What I didn't like about it was the ending.

another one of Rumiko Takahashi's long lasting anime series. I didn't devote myself to this series being as I have the eniter first series in my grasps... not mine. My friend just wanted me to open up. She should've just let me borrow Maison Ikkoku.

Finished the anime recently.


But why the fuck isn't it finished (nowhere could I find something about the end)

Well it ends on the 38th book. What part did you get to?

The end really doesn't seem like the end, which is why I hate it so much. ^^jj

Nah, the anime doesn't seem to end where the manga does (which sucks, because the last arc is awesome)

Oh and book 38 seemed like an ending to me, kind of used to it.

Ahh that's weird. I haven't gotten to the end of the anime yet, but maybe they're just still translating the rest to English or something like that. I hope that's the case instead of ending early.

I was actually talking about the Hentai version, but the series itself I have seen like, 2 years ago? But it was only like 3 episodes (Something about Ice Skating and competition between 2 guys and one girl I think)

That ice skating competition was between Mikado Sanzenin and Azusa Shiratori against Ranma and Akane. They were doing an anything goes martial arts skating competition to determine who gets P-chan (Ryoga in his pig form lol). Even though he was the prize, Ryoga enters the competition and switches out with Akane even though he meant to switch out Ranma. (He has a crush on Akane).

That was one of my favorite battles.

As I recall, the anime series ended just after Ranma and his mother were reunited. They never bothered making anime episodes for the last arc or two of the manga. Which, of course, is why I have always preferred to read the manga instead of watch the anime on any given series: anime is full of filler, twists the original author(s)'s idea, and all we get in exchange is some music and sound effects. Plus, I can read a volume of manga in fourty minutes or so, which can cover as much as five hours of anime episodes *cough-narutochuuninexams-cough*.

I haven't seen all the way through the anime yet but since that's only where it ends then I'm not gonna bother to buy the rest of the anime.

After I spent so much on the first few box sets.

I own all of the manga. It's a pretty good series.

I didn't like how it was like the many many animes/mangas that no one gets kissed. Or an important kiss anyway.
