My god... last night's episode had so many plot-holes; I lost count.

Like what sort of holes?
One of my few complaints about the episode, aside from the inevitable reunion of Peter and Claire is the fact that Meredith shows up on the scene with her hand on fire. Does that have to be illustrated ALL the time now? I'm still rather annoyed that she was written back into the story. Spoiler: If only Sandra emptied that clip into her instead. Or better yet she shot Claire in the head multiple times. |

Yeah, I talked to FX, and his plot holes are actually like cinematic inconsistencies (special effects, placing, stuff like that.)
And yeah, Meredith is like super trigger fire happy. |

On the fun side, Milo did a signing (for his new comic book, Rest) at Golden Apple comics in L.A.
One of his friends pretty much just puts up videos of him on YouTube being silly, and apparently he pretended to get in line for his signing to joke with people: |

I don't really know what to think of this series anymore. If my friends didn't watch it I probably wouldn't myself...
Sylar is awesome and all that matters. Though L is sex also. |

Message to remaining writers (and Bryan Fuller if he indeed returns from Pushing Daisies):
KILL CLAIRE. Stop eluding to Nathan either getting killed off or being used as a tool to manipulate the public. What is it with you people not developing some of the characters' plots and storylines past the basic pattern of first season? Your fanbase isn't comprised of morons who just want to see the same thing over and over again. Furthermore, STOP writing people out. We start out with like 20 people and everything always boils down to Peter and Claire, with dabs of Nathan, Matt, Hiro, and Sylar, and THEN the rest of the friggin' cast. You better not be teasing with next week's previews. Claire. I want her dead. Got that? And agreed on Elle and Sylar. Surprisingly hot. Matt/Daphne is just annoying. Originally posted by HAL 9000 I wondered that myself. I mean, last season Isaac's storyline supposedly had Isaac painting a whole bunch of shit before he died which Bennet and Mohinder were using to figure out the future. I guess they're trying to claim that Issac put out a certain number of storylines that he submitted to his publisher before he was killed off. But if that's true, he would know Sylar wasn't killed off when he said he knew how Sylar died (regarding the drawing of Hiro running him through with his sword). It's a really annoying hole. And it really didn't make sense why they'd even bother dropping it in there, all it did was make them look like continuity-retarded fools. (Last edited by Rogue on 11-20-08 02:08 PM) |

You mean like how Nathan came back from the dead despite the fact that the Linderman he was communicating with was just an illusion concocted by Maury Parkman?
Or how the air supposedly being cut off in the container Claire and Meredith went into would not only suffocate Claire, but also Meredith AND extinguish her ability to create fire? Fire does need oxygen after all. (Last edited by Rogue on 11-20-08 09:57 PM) |

Or how some powers are shared hereditarily, like Matt and his dad, Meredith and her brother, all of the Petrelli's; yet the rest are just random?

Originally posted by HAL 9000 It's somewhat slightly random in other super hero 'verses, so I never really thought of it as a hole. Supposedly everyone's affected differently. Then again, we still don't know if Kaito had a power or what it was if he did. Maybe he was a time traveller too? Possibly his wife was. Well, how about the fact that EVERYONE'S now claiming that the eclipse gave them all their powers? Nathan's came up before the eclipse. As did Arthur's, Angela's, Niki/Jessica's, Sylar's, Bob's, Elle's, Meredith's, Claude's, most of the people in Area 5, and most especially Kinsei. Different eclipse then? Guh. Another rather annoying hole is the fact that now they're claiming after a season of family problems with their father that Niki/Jessica and now Tracy were all grown instead of born to their parents. And once again--to the writers: KILL CLAIRE. Write her off just like you do every. body. else. Cut off the finger to save the arm and in turn the whole body. |

How can there even be an eclipse one year later? Has the orbit of the earth/moon/sun been altered?

If you gain and lose powers with eclipses, wouldn't Kinsei have aged and or turned to dust a LONG time ago?
On a completely different note, it's amusing to me that two of my side characters in our RP converged in the last episode. When Peter and Nathan go looking for the Haitian, he mentions that he's off to fight his brother (who had the power of impenetrable skin). Agwe, Cally's friend, I created to be a brother of the Haitian, while Abel my character I created before the thread went inactive had impenetrable skin. Anyway, several people have written reviews bitching that all the "cool powers" have already been taken. Here's a short list that still haven't shown up on the show: - Elasticity - Multiplicity - Water manipulation - Earth manipulation/Earthquake generation - Weather control - Transfiguration (be it able to transform other things or themselves. Candice could create illusions of her appearance and the area around her, but it wasn't permanent). - Metal manipulation (Jeph Loeb said at Wizard World L.A. this year that Tim Kring wanted to put in a character that had magnetic powers. Loeb asked, "Like Magneto?" Kring answered, "Wha? Who?") - Plant manipulation/generation - Communication with animals - Shield/force field generation - Change objects into pure kinetic energy (Now that would be blatantly stealing from Marvel ) - Fate/luck manipulation - Ability to shrink or grow |

OK... I think I've given up on this show. As a die-hard fan, I will continue watching 'til the end, but I'm finding far less enthusiasm in it.
Since Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander were fired from the show because they were going in a different direction than was originally believed, I have some hope that perhaps it will right itself after the winter hiatus when their names will cease to exist on the show's credits. I dunno... I knew Claire would come out all right, but I was so hoping she really would be done for. The losing-their-powers-because-of-the-eclipse-and-regaining-them-once-it's-over thing was extremely anti-climactic as NO ONE truly took advantage of it in the main storyline. So the Haitian fought his brother? Big freakin' deal. Why didn't ANYONE launch an attack on an "I'm feeling vulnerable" Arthur Petrelli?! What's more I'm really getting tired of all of this pairing bullshit with Sylar. All the shippers are going nuts in the absurd confusion. Is he hot for Mohinder? He killed Mohinder's father. So no. He's courting Maya? Killed Alejandro, so no. He kills Bob and tries to kill Elle for her power. They can't possibly go out!! But they do. They don't. They do? Oh well she's dead. I don't know. I give up. Continuing on the random note from the last post regarding the Haitian's brother, it's still funny to me that they created this character and gave him the name "Baron Samedi," which was a name I was considering for "Agwe," due to its roots in the region's religious beliefs. Agwe being a Haitian water god and Baron Samedi a Haitian vodou-specific figure of Death. Heh. Anyway... they need to write Monica back in. |

Rogue, I can understand your feelings, because as a diehard fan, I'm less interested in the show than I was, but keep in mind these episodes were made when they were being retarded and before they realized how much they were messing up.
Great news: Bryan Fuller (you know, basically the writer responsible for Season One) is coming back. He left to go make Pushing Daises, but he's coming back which is definitely a good sign. That being said, people did take advantage of the eclipse: HRG. HRG is the only person who knows how to do something without powers because he's that awesome, and truth be told, he's been kind of removed from the Arthur Petrelli conflict. I think nobody in the Company took advantage of Arthur Petrelli's vulnerable because of its disarry right now. That being said, it was pretty anti-climactic. And yes, they do need to write Monica back in. |

Yeah, I had Bennet on my mind, but Elle and Sylar's tryst didn't factor in for me as "main storyline," like this season's main villain, Arthur "Dallas" Petrelli.
What's more I'm really tired of the twisting things just for the sake of twisting, then twisting them back because it was already too crazy to begin with. Sylar's paternal origins for example. I knew Bryan would be coming back after Pushing Daisies was announced as canceled. I've been hoping he'd return to sort some things out. I'm still not quite sure what the point of taking Claire to the past will accomplish, but we'll see. |
