Exclusive: 'Heroes' Geeks Out Over Seth Green, Breckin Meyer

Heroes is getting its very own geek squad.

Real-life BFFs and frequent collaborators Seth Green and Breckin Meyer are nearing a deal to join the cast of Heroes for multi-episode arcs, sources confirm to me exclusively.

As I first teased in this week's episode of Ausiello TV, the Robot Chicken duo will play Atlanta-based comic book nerds aficionados who cross paths with (and perhaps serve as advisors to) one of the Heroes. I'm told the names of their characters are still in flux, so there's a chance the cheeky monikers I referenced in ATV won't stick. Then again, they very well may. (Fingers crossed that at least one of them does.)

Got any theories as to what higher purpose Green and Meyer may serve in the Heroesverse? Is it just me, or do these two bring to mind a certain nerdy advisory panel from another popular sci-fi franchise? C'mon, it can't just be me.

Yeah, that's flippin' random. The first parts that show the characters sprawled around in the halls and Sylar coming up behind Angela was supposedly going to be in Season 3, but according to Jeph Loeb and Tim Kring they just filled that to show something to fans at a film festival.

Heh, that's how I feel about Claire. I used to love her.

Maybe it's Hayden's star status and all of the stupid gossip about her and Milo, that's aided in killing her for me, but it seems like the show just revolves around the two of them now.

I'll say it again, though, WHERE THE HELL IS MONICA?! I've been dying to see what's going on with her and the other folks down in New Orleans, and we got to finally see Micah, but I'm not as interested in him as Monica.

They also need to STOP making every other character a Petrelli. What next? We find out Matt's dad slept with Angela?

Why am I not surprised? So long as Noah and Matt remain on the show, I'm happy, but why do they keep getting rid of characters I love? Isaac, Eden (I started out hating her and she grew on me REALLY quickly), Kaito, and now Monica?



And that's what I'm getting at here. The writers and producers have flat out said that you shouldn't get attached to any characters, and then they keep dropping hints that Nathan's either going to die or leave you hanging to believe that he's dead, but they won't get rid of Peter or Claire.

I mean, they've said they're the only show with the balls to kill off "main" characters, but seriously season 2 was ridiculously about Peter and Claire, and it seems to be going that route again.

I guess this is the issue with "large ensemble" shows. They're going to have contract issues or lose track of some characters here or there so they just get rid of them.

The list thus far of characters who've disappeared with either a crappy explanation or none at all:
- Janice
- Heidi
- Simon and Monty
- D.L.
- Hiro's sister (wasn't SHE supposed to take over Kaito's company and not Hiro?)
- Molly (Haven't seen her in a while and she's been "sent away")
- Caitlin (She's STUCK IN THE FUTURE and no one seems to remember or care)

Those written out without any further word:
- Claude
- West
- Zach (Reason for this one is pretty obvious if you watch Fox)
- Wireless (In the graphic novels she was killed off, and I heard from writers personally that she'll be "making appearances" this season. If you take part in the cellphone campaigns, she's the one who supposedly contacts you with new information on how to take down the OWI/Company)

Am I forgetting anyone?

I'm going to assume that it changes around her and she's aware of it. For all we know, a nuke went off right above her in the NEW alternate future and she got killed off.

*Shrug*

Not like I liked her or anything.

Just adds to the formula of every season:

Bad shit happens.

Someone goes to the future and bad shit is even more realized.

Better yet, someone paints the bad shit happening.

In the future Nathan's dead (be it death by Sylar, Shanti virus, bomb, etc).

Peter becomes romantically involved. Girl is written off the show.

Claire has a young male friend. Boy's written off the show.

Hiro's on the proverbial hero's quest, be it with Ando or Adam.

Nathan is "killed" and the world is supposedly saved.

Well, Peter and Claire are what the viewers that comprise the shit-for-brains to idiot demograph care about, and last I checked, they still maintain majority in the polls.

As long as television is mandated to succumb to the wishes of the majority, television will suffer.

That being said, Heroes is still honestly the best show on television right now.

All right, this is exhausting. I also both love and hate the show. And this episode steered me a little more toward hate. Again the episode was Peter/Claire-centric with touches of Sylar.

And once again it's a future in which Nathan dies.

Well at least Kinsei's back. That's a plus.


Last week's episode "One of Us, One of Them" had a few scenes where Hiro and Ando track the speedster thief, Daphne, to a silent movie theater in France EDIT: The theater was supposed to be in Berlin, Germany. The theater was actually the Warner Grand in San Pedro, Calif.

The Warner Grand is currently the home of my former Rocky Horror Picture Show cast, Midnight Insanity.

Some of their props made it on the episode.


The jukebox Columbia sits upon during the Time Warp can be seen to the left.


Frank N. Furter's throne and Rocky's tank can be seen behind Hiro and Ando here.
