Anywho...kinda off topic, but for the record, I am inclined to agree with you, Logos, in saying that the SATs don't really reflect much. Standardized tests of any sort aren't that bad actually, you just gotta learn how to take them. Like I did REALLY well in the math part, but I don't do so hot in the subject usually. And just to bring my statements into the topic...  This girl is messed up if she's serious. (How that relates, I dunno, but use your imaginations people. XD) |

I have a something.shit for a GPA, but I feel that it doesn't reflect anything, just like the SAT and such. Every man to his own, I guess. But I'm happy that someone else recognizes the satire in this, and its effect. It makes me feel really happy. If this girl is serious, let her be. They are far bigger problems than people who unknowingly say ridiculous things. Like people who knowingly exploiting said ignorance. Which I would never think of doing. |

Hmm...yeah...even in high school...if this shit was ever presented to anyone from my old high school...it just wouldn't be acceptable.
Though...I'll admit, I wrote an article like this back in my freshman year. Not this exactly, but on a topic dealing with gender roles. I purposely sounded like a shallow-minded...basically unintelligent...person. Why? To be noticed. Story behind it is that there was too much smoking going on in the bathrooms, and the teachers that were supposed to stop it, weren't...the one bathroom was soo bad. I personally got sent home from school cuz of asthma attacks I'd get just from going inside the bathrooms. Along with a few other people, I'd go down to the offices, but they'd just "yes" us to death and sent us on our way. So, I wrote something like that, and asked my English teacher read it and pass it around among the faculty, but I asked him to act as though I had seriously thought that was good and wanted to hand it in. He did, and as a result, I became a topic among the faculty, which in turn led to them finding time to talk to me, and once they got to know me a bit...to end this quickly, I was heard and the teachers did more to stop the smoking in the bathrooms. No, I wasn't a tattle tale, but I dun care if people smoke. I won't be disrespectful and criticize smokers like everyone else does, so respect me and don't smoke around me, s'how I see it. But anywho...my long story aside...if this girl is serious...**tries not to rant about it** It's not always all about working though...I have just finished up my first semester of college, about to start my second...I currently hold a 4.0 average. It's a really good feeling being able to say that about myself and it gives me more self confidence. Just that simple GPA does that for me, without going into what I've already accomplished in such little time as far as my career goes...which I won't be stopping until I have my masters degree. Sorry guys...I just harbor strong feelings for academics and if this girl is serious...**gets pissed off** |

Seems like satire to me. It questions the existing social norm with such a ridiculous statement, I cannot think it otherwise. Even if real, would not the writer be a living, breathing piece of comedy?
But if it's not, what's the aim of looking for something completely unfounded on any sort of logical argument? "Look, I found something utterly ridiculous on the internet!" Sadly, that's just about most of the content of the internet, newspapers, and the mainstream media, not to mention, most of humanity. So it's really not worth noting. Now if someone found something sensical on the other hand, there might be more to talk about. |

This obviously was in a school paper or something. It's filled to the brim with naivety/ignorance. I don't even think it's worth even discussing. Everyone knows she is stupid.

It bugs me how she says that women shouldn't 'have to' go to college, like they are being forced to. And did anyone else notice that she basically rephrased the same two sentences over and over again? |
