Originally posted by Zabuza I know my rights, so I can do whatever I want. The funny thing is that your normal person doesn't care much for reading government policy. Crazy, I think them. Technically, the government doesn't need anyone to carry anything to track one, but it helps a lot. And generally, the government wants to keep everything running nice and froody, and I'm not talking about the White House. People have more access to the government then they care for, and nevertheless, don't use it. There is no sort of conspiracy to eliminate free thought. Such news is only to upset those who read 1984 but not into their own government. The FBI, the NSA, and such aren't really a bunch of mind-controlling obsessed monsters, people just read too much inane literature. |

Zabuza, you're exactly the sort of person that they'd be most worried about. A better question is why WONT you let them track you? That's what they'd be wondering. If you found a way to thwart their devices, they'd eventually focus all attention on you, I figure. |

It's not the FBI. That's just what they want you to think. It's the NSA. They have greater concerns with "reds" in our midsts. Not that it isn't uncommon to be less patriotic now more than ever. I mean, if you do realize it, the nation has been split since 9/11 in several directions, so a little paranoia here and there from the upper "three-lettered" agencies is expected.
I don't conduct any activities outside the norm of the general public anymore (nor do I acknowledge ever doing so before, nor will I accept ever doing such actions in the future), so I don't really care if they're so inclined to monitor my internet (damned pulling my shows off the internet), cell phone (like I use it), or home phone (don't live there anymore). I only care about my car being messed with. No devices in my car, Feds. I will find it and remove it. GPS tracking, I don't care about that. Watching my car sit in a parking lot for half the day, and then sit in a parking structure the other half can't be as interesting as they think it is. But then, public transportation is always an option...unless I'm not carrying my cell phone, or the phone is turned off (hardly ever) thwarting their GPRS, 3G, CDMA or GPS tracking on my handset. But, again, why would tracking me (or anyone for that matter) be cost effective and fun. It's not like I cosplay a fake TV-show inspired military faction agent and walk around in public. Oh, wait, yes I do. |

Here's a government article about some of the problems with PEDs on airplanes, describing how with the pico cell on planes, the problem of insanely strong cell phone signals from planes is alleviated. To simplify it to Shaddow level: before, calling on planes was bad and damaged ground bases. Now it's possibly okay. Don't worry your head too much, Shaddow.

GAAAAAAAAAAH!!! So what, if we're on a plane does the FBI not hear us?! I'm so very confused. If you don't know, just say you don't know, and stop trying to confuse me...
We need our cellphones turned off, because the signal from our phone interferes with the groundbase... and the FBI listens through our phones even if they're off... So theoretically, our phones, while off, would still interfere with the plane, right? Please.... somebody? Not Logos, perhaps? |

What does the phone companies have to do with anything? It's signals being sent through the air, is it not? |
Logos Posts: 411/641 |
Originally posted by DragonShaddow No, they do not, and will not. Since the government doesn't want to mess with phone companies. |

.......... You tried to deflect my question but only made me reword it...
Will the phones that are constantly recording everything for the FBI mess up the Ground Bases, then!? |
Logos Posts: 410/641 |
Originally posted by DragonShaddow Phones don't screw up airplanes, but the ground bases below them. Only when they're on and being used. |

No I can't, but apparently you can.
Oh well. I was just thinking... If my phone is ON even if it's OFF then would that screw up the airplanes? |

For shame, Logos. You missed my Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference. ^^ I'm rather upset and disapointed. |

Lab rats, you mean? Planet Earth is mostly harmless, y'know... |

True... The FBI prolly isn't interested in simple things like this...
It's not like the LAPD is the one listening in on us... this is the FBI. They're looking out for the nation, not to make simple arests. |

In fact, people are better off not knowing about it. |

*nod nod* That sounds like the sort of thing that one would be arrested for.
My suggestion... don't be doin' stupid shit. |

What if they accidently listened in when you were talking to a friend about going to smoke some weed? Would they arrest you? |
