Well, my junk food resolution has already falling down the drain. |

I've got a bunch of "resolutions", but most of them fall under the same category. I've been working on them since before the new year though and I have a fairly good grip on them now.
One thing is to be a little more organized with life in general. That's where most of the other categories fall under. There's soooo much I want to do! Like, I've been going ice skating a lot lately. Got a pair of figure skates for Christmas too (First time not having hockey skates. XD). Despite my years of ice hockey, I actually wasn't that good of a skater. I want to be good at it. I also want to get better at the violin, along with many other recreational activities. However, in about two weeks, school picks up again...and I also just got a job. I only work 4 hour days 5 days a week though, cuz I'm a full-time student, then come Spring break and summer, I'll have more hours, then back to the 20 hour weeks when school is on. I'd also like to keep my social life. I'm sorry, but as much as life blows and there's things we need to be responsible, without taking the time to kick back and have fun, we'll only burn out, and then what good are we when it comes to our responsibilities. **shrugs** There's a lot I want to do. I mainly just gotta be organized enough so that I CAN do it all. And...well, Ima be realistic. I'm nowhere near perfect, so I know that there are a lot of things that will go unfullfilled...but...just having something in mind to work for makes me feel a lot better than feeling like there's nothing, so yeah. |

I may be a little late to the party but here it is.
1. Stay at my class work this upcoming semester. I really do want to get my degree so I can teach eventually. 2. Work on some personal quirks and problems in myself that adversely affect my relationships. 3. Finish book 2 of my series and make some headway on one of my other novels. 4. Other than that this is the last resolution and the same one I've had since 2000 Live to see next year. |

...or...one...could... just... be... really...slow...in...,... speech.
Yes that was all types of wrong, but I found it fun. I like ellipsis. They are a useful tool. But should one use a hammer in place of a ratchet, then they are me on a really bad day. But as for my own personal resolutions. Hmmm... #1: To return to writing. As bad as it it, it'll only get worse if I don't work at it. #2: To join Venomuslobby in audition professionally. #3: To gain a little more ground on my personal demons. #4: LOSE WEIGHT!!! And get back to my fighting shape/condition. #5: Get a more long term job. #6: To stop shooting myself in the foot, in the respect of classes. And lastly, with the least amount of hope. #7: to stop beating myself up, and comming down on myself so f***ing much. |

1) Stop procrastinating over important things. (I don't include include sim battles under important things Xander, before you get on my case about that.)
2) Get a job. (One that's better than delivering newspapers anyway.) 3) Read a book. (I have only read a grand total of about 20 books, only 16 if you don't include the first four harry potter books as I didn't like them all that much.) 4) Cut down on the junk food. (I highly doubt this will go down well.) Yeah, not much at all really... =/ |

Logos, stop trying to create a fight, please. This is a good and worthy topic without arguing.
Now, my new years resolutions: #1 Finish my book #2 Master the Wii controller #3 finish reading the wheel of time series Yeah, I'll admit, I don't have many, and none are that important except for the first. |

I've always had a bad temper and I am trying to improve myself. |

Mostly offline issues, actually - work can be very annoying. As can my parents and our two dogs. The cats and my grandmother aren't so bad, but they have their moments too...
Back on topic, though my parents want me to start college next year, I want to move out next year... well, I don't think that'll work out for either of us... |

That's something that I really need to get done. Um, let's see, what else can I work on...: Spending more time on my classwork so I am not stressing about it so much Putting up with the idiotic members of my gaming group Excercise more Work on keeping my temper under control Catch up on the Wheel of Time series |

I'd been meaning to start a thread about resolutions. I figure any excuse to make some self-improvements at your own pace is worth investing some time in.
Since I try to make resolutions that are more for mental nourishment and a bit more for fun, my list isn't so much the typical lose weight\exercise more\keep everything clean. Ones on my list I managed to keep this past year: - Spend more time with the boyfriend's family. - Finish at least 10 full novels (With all the schoolwork and other things cluttering up schedule, I often don't sit down much to read leisurely). - Visit at least 1 museum a month. - Comic-Con. - Attend at least one premiere. - Meet at least 3 celebrities (Yeah, I'm lame, but I did it and exceeded it). - Leave the state on 3 different occasions. - Get published in at least 1 magazine or newspaper. It's been a fun year with a lot of new and great experiences, but it went WAAAAAAY too fast. I still gotta figure out the list for this year. Best of luck and good will in the new year, guys. |

Not to use the words "idiocy" or "stupid," as they are meaningless as "like" and "umm" or "..."; learn electrical mechanics and multivariable calculus though I'm majoring in economics; learn how to speak Japanese; and of course, be kinder to my fellow human, even if the favor is not graced upon me.
[Edit] Also, stop making typographical errors. |
Astrophel Posts: 1539/2724 |
I'm going to try to be more tolerant of idiocy, both online and offline.
I'm not expecting success there. |

the new year has almost dawn upon us!
are there any particular things you want to change for the next year? or perhaps, any successful resolutions you've completed from this year that you made from the last? |
