Me and my current girlfriend spent our one week anniversary today just hanging out and cuddling . It was nice. |

Well depends, either a nice dinner somewhere or we stay at home and watch a few movies or we go somewhere special. |

I do the simple gifts thing, I'm not really a big fan of going all out. But then again I haven't yet had a relationship last longer than our five month anniversary. So, I'm not sure how I'd react if it was a one year. |

Simple gifts work fine in my book, something they would really appriciate. For me and Venomouslobster's first anniversary we got matching pewter tankards and a D&D book. It could be something as simple as a card with a heartfelt message in it, as long as it means something to the both of you. |

In my past relationships, the big deal was mostly placed on calling or seeing the other person at the very least. In my two relationships that actually went more than a year (one that went for 4 years and the current that's almost at 3), the first anniversary we exchanged gifts, but usually the novelty dies the following years.
With the current boyfriend, our last anniversary was spent working and we "celebrated" a couple days later by driving up and down the coast and going to different places. Something we do all the time anyway. I'm not much of a sappy sentimentalist when it comes to relationships (matter of fact I'm the anti-sappy), but I don't see a huge point to getting all riled up over it being a year (or 5 or 15 or 50) since the first time you kissed or held hands or what have you. While anniversaries are nice, I think everyday should be something of a celebration in the relationship and not just one day that's labeled so like Valentine's Day and so on. |

So for those of us that have significant others, what proound things do you do on your anniversary? I'm not talking months I mean what special thing do you do o nthe day that marks your relationship? Is a gift necassary, is anything special at all necassary? Tell me, I'm curious. |
