Kinda reminds me of all of the jokes people who smoke and don't care what the people who get in their faces about the habit say.
Non-smoker: "You know those things take 10 years right off your life, right?" Smoker: "Yes, but those are the last years and who really wants to live those, anyway?" Smoker: "I take comfort in the fact that these things will kill me before everything gets worse." Honestly, I am not for smoking, but it gets obnoxious when anti-smoking zealots come around and either blatantly "cough" around smokers even when they're several yards awway or yell at them for smoking when they're within their rights. For many smokers, the only thing they've got is smoking. Nicotine is a relaxant and often the most stressed out workers/parents, who don't receive much for their toil become smokers because it's like a mini-vacation from life. While I appreciate that I live in a state where people practically can't smoke anywhere (though they often do anyway), some of the tactics in passing legislation to further truncate people's rights is just absurd. |

I like smoking...I like it alot...and it is dirt cheap for me, as I roll my own cigarettes (which, i might add i have down to an art form) although i am cognisant of the fact they are bad, there is that little voice at the back of my head that says "who wants to be nintey anyway?" |

Ok, I forgot that pretty much everything tobacco makes me sick, except cigarettes, I have a tolerance to them because my parents and my one side of the family smoked on and off throughout my life. I'm kinda afraid of dip and that kind of stuff, it seems really icky and looks like shit coming out of your mouth. |

I've seen first hand what it can do to people, my uncle is a really heavy smoker, he's 52 and looks 90. I have never and will never go near a cigarette .. I've never even touched one. I totally respect peoples wishes & choices if they want to smoke. Half the people at my work smoke, as long as I'm not getting smoke blown in my face, I'm fine with it. |

Never have, never will. Way too expensive, I have more constructive outlets for my stress, and I go into massive coughing fits if someone is within 50ft of me and smoking, or if they smell of it. My family smoked a lot when I was little and it messed with my lungs somehow.

Ewwww, smoking. Too lazy, too cheap, too poor. Though I do think and joke that I "Need a Cigarette" Every now and again, though I've never had one, and really don't care about having one. |

I hear you on the other stuff too. That's pretty cool that you and your co-workers all have that respect for one another. I mean, on both ends, even the smoker, it's only right. Like, I'll sit here 'til I'm blue saying how bad I think smoking is...but if people pay attention, I never once say the person is a bad person simply because they smoke. So yeah.  And I hear you on the black lungs too...my mom smoked while she was pregnant with me and a lot around me when I was a baby...which is why I think even though I don't technically have asthma, I do have certain difficulties.  |

No, and no no no. Never will. Because of money. I've seen how much money my mom spends on cigarettes, and its a monstrousity. I may be the only guy at work who actually doesn't smoke (since we work out in the open, people are pretty much constantly smoking), but everyday I hear "I'm trying to quit" *pulls out a cigeratte*, or "Can I burrow a cigeratte?" or "Can I have some money for some smokes?", and it just seems like a waste of time. One guy at my work always dips. I'll admit one day he let me smell some mint stuff and it smelled great, but I passed. Just like I have the 100x he's jokingly asked. Yeah, I'm asked constantly at work, but its always jokingly and they're respectful about it, as am I. Anyways I'm sure if you gave me an X-Ray scan you'd see some blackness in my lungs. I've been around smokers all my life. |

Lobster. I've been trying to quit recently but it's not been going well. I managed for a couple months then caved and haven't done too well since. |

I'm sure there was a thread about smoking recently, but it wasn't a poll like this.
I, on VERY rare occasions, smoke. As I'd stated somewhere else, I smoke an average of once ever 6 or 7 months. I'm not addicted, and when I do smoke it's usually hookah for flavor. |

Uhg, I can't stand tobacco products, or anything of the sort. I just makes me feel all unclean being around it. No offense to you mind you. I just don't understand the concept, nor the motivation to actually go out and get addicted to that stuff. It's beyond me. O_o |
