I guess so, if you throw out all of their beliefs and actions, they're about the same.

Democrats, Republicans... politicians are all the same really. It's just that whoever is in office gets made fun of more... of course cracks about hunting usually only apply to the Republicans. Just like ones about McDonalds or interns usually go to the Democrats.

Oh yes, and pretzels, can't forget the pretzels... Bush shall be forever famous for that.

I completely agree with you on that. I really don't care if you're Democrat, Republican, or whatever.... I'll just hate everyone equally, like I should

All jokes aside, I'm now shutting up for a while about anything political. I pwomise ^^

Atleast you know there's those who do support Bush out there. Infact everyone here in GA who's Christian is stuck on the fact that the world's coming to an end becuase the next Pope's going to be the anti-christ. That's right, people in GA believe that the Catholics are going to be the blame for the end of the world.

ANYWAY

This fight over Democrats and Republicans is like high school fights over UGA and Auburn. Or Fords vs Chevys.

They're called "clay pigeons." There is no entry for "clay doves."

Sorry, but I'm quite sure they are actually shooting doves.

I really think that Chris Rock's on to something!

But now that I think about it, I think that Vulcanlogic was right in the fact that they were clay doves, not real ones.

As said by Chris Rock.

Heh, I was just about to say that I remember Chris Rock doing a bit on that, then I noticed the last part of your post.

From his Bigger & blacker sketch:

"Everybody is talking about gun control. Got to control the guns. Fuck, that, I like guns. If you've got a gun, you don't need to work out! Cause, I ain't working out. I ain't jogging. No, I think we need some bullet control. I think every bullet should cost five thousand dollars. Five thousand dollars for a bullet. Know why? Cause if a bullet cost five thousand dollars, there'd be no more innocent by-standers. That'd be it. Some guy'd be shot you'd be all 'Damn, he must've done something, he's got fifty thousand dollars worth of bullets in his ass!' And people'd think before they shot someone 'Man I will blow your fucking head off, if I could afford it. I'm gonna get me a second job, start saving up, and you a dead man. You'd better hope I don't get no bullets on lay-away!' And even if you get shot you wouldn't need to go to the emergency room. Whoever shot you'd take their bullet back. 'I believe you got my property!?' "

Yup clay doves. The most fun way to waste your ammo. You know ammo should be expensive. It makes killing things/people harder. Why? Because people don't want to waste money on shooting the wrong person or deer.

You know what I just realized? It doesn't have to be doves at all? They would probably being shooting clay doves. Those orange frisbee things that people shoot into the air, you shoot, and it explodes for massive fun.

I tihnk that's what they were called anyway...

ANYWAY dove's delicious, I have no clue why you're making a big deal out of it. The fact is that South Carolina kills dove and quail for food as well. If you hunt, you have to go for what's in season.

Again, like Rogue said, this isn't a thread about "I hate Republicans", it's about irony.

I disagree about killing nothing on September 11th. Why? Yes, people died. People died when Pearl Harbor was attacked as well, but do we not kill on that day? No. What about the night Titanic sunk? Nope. Most people don't even acknowledge the date anymore. Given 50 years it will most likely happen to 9/11 as well. But really, countries in Europe have had days when many people were killed as well, but they don't look back on the day each year like some morbid holiday. They rebuild and move on, like we should be.

Yes, honor the dead. Visit the memorial and pay respects... but don't let the past control your lives. Remember, but move on.

I told my mom about the dove hunting thing, she finds the irony quite amusing as well.

My point is not about the freshness of the meat, Nelrith, so please abandon use of the Shiny Object Effect. My point is that an animal had to be killed for it, which goes directly against your interpretation of the bible.

All I'm really after here is you admitting that the bible-based portion of your argument is rather badly flawed.

The commandment says, "Thou shalt not kill". Over time, people have warped this in every which way to benefit themselves. It says Thou Shalt Not Kill, not Thou May Kill All Except Humans!

Allow me to reply to this.

*takes all the meat from your refridgerator and freezer*

Hey, going by your interpretation, you shouldn't have any. After all, someone had to kill those animals, and you wouldn't want to be seen supporting a sinner, would you?

I entirely agree with you about hunting for sport, but I really think you could've done a better job on the reason behind your objection.

If I may, I would like to say a bit more:

I think that killing something on September 11 should be considered blasphemous. It is also hypocritical in the fact that most Republicans are pro-God and they go against a commandment in the fact that they are KILLING.

The commandment says, "Thou shalt not kill". Over time, people have warped this in every which way to benefit themselves. It says Thou Shalt Not Kill, not Thou May Kill All Except Humans!

I'm not a vegetarian, but I believe that people should only kill things if they have to to survive. These people are killing for fun! Isn't that a sin?

Don't try to pawn off on me that they can eat the doves at the banquet, because I've eaten some before. Here's my opinion on it:

Its stringy, has barely any meat, and isn't worth the ammo. Above that, it doesn't taste as good as chicken, to say the least.

My only question here is why? Why kill to remember those who were killed?

PS: I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way. I don't want to offend. I'm just stating my opinon and if you can clearly prove what I think is wrong, then just tell me.

Hate to break it to you all, but dove hunting is a common sport. A lot of people I know have gone dove hunting, and it's even more common in South Carolina(where I used to live). It's funny, but accidental. It's just a thing that southerners like to do, and if there's a party, why not have something fun?

Seriously, hating the republicans, even liking them even less(I am a republican by the way), is nonsensical. People like to have fun, so why blame them for it.

Even so, knowing both southerners AND republicans, I think that someone might get shot here, if they aren't careful. Hopefully people won't go insane and hate whoever does it this time despite the fact that it would be private bussiness, and nothing to do with politics.

But then, that could be the real problem here. Why most everything be political? Why not just have something that's fun? I for one don't have a single problem with shooting doves at any time, even a time whos date is shared by an attack on the American population.

Sorry guys, but this is ridiculous. Fun is fun, not politics.

*falls off chair in fit of laughter*

Oh gods, that is so funny. Sadly it's also a good point, who knows what/who will end up full of bird shot before the day is done. Better make sure they all have a valid hunting license.
