Yeah, these are pretty much all the reasons why I like it this way. Mixed members who had avatars, and then didn't ... would just end up looking ugly, the table just didn't look professional. Then the bio's, when they got so huge the page would just be stretched all over.

Basically, what VG says here, is why I changed it.
