wiping out NK= extremely high tensions with China= 95% of war with China
The fact that the US armed Japan with Patriot Missiles was bad enough, seeing as how North Korea and China hate Japan. But wiping out NK means temporary US occupation of NK, meaning the US is right next to China. I don't know about you, but if somewhere were to suddenly wipe out Canada and/or Mexico, i'd be intimidated seeing as how they are right next to the US P.S. No, i don't know for sure it's 95%. I'm just throwing a high number out there. lol |

Originally posted by Elara They have either the second or thir largest military, as they have mandatory service for their people. Also, if they really tried, then they couldn't conquer America, but I know that we couldn't stop them. Oh, and again, I find myself on the side of the Israelis here, and I support them just taking out Lebanon. It has a terrorist organization, and has provoked Israel. One thing I know, if you want to live, don't mess with Israel. Their morale is probably the highest of any military, and there is no way that they will let anyone take their country. But that's not the discussion. The war's politics are the discussion, and I think I can see how this will play out. North Korea is for the moment going to be left out. The second it bombs us, it will be wiped out. It has recently come to my knowledge that China is actually on our side n taking away the abilities of these missles, and might not be too threatened by our presence, assuming that negotiate with them before attacking. So, NK is left out, so what happens? Simple, Iran is the answer. Iran has been developing nulear weapons, and where do you think that's going to go? America? I really doubt it. England? More doubtful. Israel? Extremely likely. They've been having this religious war for years now, and so that seems like the best place. What's more, they can get mad when we retaliate(if we need to, Israel has quite a few nuclear weapons), and hurt America's politics. So, they way I see it, Israel will lose a city, Iran will be wiped out, and then NK will want to become involved, resulting in us just wiping them out too. |

we just have the largest and best funded which allows us certain advantages
but best special forces that is absolutly ridiculous each military orginization are people who do a very specific thing and each does it very well israelie military is designed to make swift small retrobutive strikes very efficiantly and they do and they are probably the best in the world at the military niche akin to light cavelry (i am not talking about horses people, just raids and such) britain's SAS is generally agreed to be the top counter terrorist military special forces and this is due largely to the conflicts with the IRA throuhout the 80's and 90's navy seals were built to go quietly and eliminate specific targets without people realizing they were involved, they exell in particular at marine to land targets (beachfront real estate) these are just examples, most world powers have their own scary little groups that exell at their own little niches they fullfill, be it guerrilla warfare, blowing stuff up, etc. |

Actually our training, and special forces are still the best in the world.
This point I'll fight. We have the strongest miltary in the world, bar none. |

Only because we outnumber them. I'm sure that if each side had equal numbers and took each other on they would beat us, I mean, look at how well they've been doing on their own. |

I thought it was in the world... I know they could kick our ass if they really wanted to. |

well, as far as I know "we" have kept our noses out.
it's not like Israel needs our help to fight a couple terrorist groups.... they have the best military in the middle east. |
GuardianOni Posts: 320/472 |
The thing about terrorist groups... they won't stop until they are satisfied. So the fight will not stop.
We should keep our noses out. It's not really our fight/business. And Draken... Religion has little to do with who will win. There are too many religions on this board. And is too touchy a subject. So please no more of this "chosen people" stuff. |

how can you promise a ceasefire when the group Israel is -actually- going after is the terrorist group Hezbollah, not Lebanon.
The fighting is going to stop when those kidnapped soldiers are returned to Israel. However, I highly doubt they will be returned without a fight. Hezbollah works for Iran (works for and is funded by) and they are not going to stop just because the world wants them to. Their goal is the destruction of Israel, nothing else. This "war" won't end until then, even if the ceasefire is agreed to there will be more fighting and more terrorism in Israel unless Hezbollah is destroyed or disbanded. |

Originally posted by Draken i don't think it's Israel that needs to be worried about here...it's definitely Lebanon. Where as hundreds of Lebanese civilians have been killed, only dozens of Israelis have been killed. And it seems that the US refuses to do anything until Israel has finished off most of Lebanon, despite going on and on about promoting a ceasefire. |

I Really don't think we have to worry about Israel if you remember back in the 70's Israel fought off six countries for seven days. The Israelites/ Jews are the chosen people of God. Just do like Bush is doing and let them go all out. After Being enslaved by the egyptians for hundreds of years, then waliking through the desert for forty years, and being slaughtered by the Holocaust and yet they still survived. I think these people can handle lebanon. |

Originally posted by .SK That'd mean I'd join in. That'd mean no war, since I'd finish this in an instant. --- On a serious note, I don't believe we're heading to WW3. Not yet, IIRC some of the elements of the past two wars aren't there yet. Of course, if a WW started because of the current reasons of this so-called war (which isn't near righteous, even less than most wars), I dunno what I would do. Losing faith in humanity is out of question, I lost it about 150 times already. If US gets involved again, I swear I'm gonna see the heads of the country killed. |

Originally posted by GuardianOni i'd say it's more of a reason than an excuse. also, even though N. and S. Korea are always close to resuming conflict, at least some talks have begun between the two to settle differences. |

Hey Katana, you have been the closest to the mark so far. If there is a conflict that pulls in the international community it's in that area.
North and South Korea are always close to resuming the fighting ((They are still technically at war having never declared peace, only a cease-fire)) And China is full of civil unrest. And should Korea start fight again, and the US gets involved China would use that as an excuse to join in the fight. And if the hard liners have there way, it'll be a bid for a larger ((global)) power grab. There has been fighting in the mid-east for centuries. And weather we are involved or not, they will fight. And now info from the authorities... There is someone that had been a carrier soldier, Special Forces, USMC. He had enlisted and retired as an officer of some rank. ((If you know anything about military, you should be Verry impressed)) Who is now a military annalist for a news radio here in southern Calif. who clames that WW3 started in 1983 with the bombing of the marine barracks in ((I think, could be wrong on the country)) Bahrain. It's just now coming out to be a shooting war. And friends in differing branches of the military are telling me that the pentagon is getting ready to prepare for conflict in south east Asia. Like N. Korea, and China. But, who knows what will happen? And I'm not too fussed either way. If we fight we fight. If it doesn't happen then it doesn't. Whatever happens will happen, and we'll have to deal however we can. |

Originally posted by Sparda Yea, good point. There population is already declining, and there probobly is more to go with it. So I dont know if they would be able to put up much of a fight. Unless they have some giant mechs that there not sharing with the rest of the world.. lol |

Originally posted by Sparda Nuff said. In all honesty, if there is another WW,I doubt Europe will be involved. So that takes care of that...and...maybe it's just a personal thing with me, but I think that the world underestimates the countries in Asia. I really do. I mean, you've heard in the news N. Korea being mentioned...so...the media is NOW mentioning something from Asia? **shrugs** Y'all can tell me if I'm wrong or not, just back up what you say with facts please, because I'm here to learn on this one, not chose sides in a debate. |
